••• Charlotte’s POV •••
“Lottie,” Hayden called my name as we were having rabbits he caught and roasted as lunch the next day.
We had been trying to find an exit, to no avail. The Valley was like a maze and there was a thick fog when we woke up this morning, making it difficult for Hayden to use his werewolf senses.
I guessed that was why this was considered a dangerous place.
“I received a mindlink from Noah,” he continued.
“What did he say?” I asked as I threw away the bones and took a drink.
“He informed me that most of the criminals had been caught and they went to the woodland to rescue all the abducted she-wolves based on your instruction,” he said as he stood up and began throwing sand and dirt into the campfire.
“That’s good that the she-wolves are saved,” I told him and began helping him put out the fire.
“But…” He frowned. “Aleksander had escaped.”
“He escaped?” I asked, though not so surprised by the information.
