บท 13: Kill The Angels

Ava's POV:

Yan parked the car in front of a big building before he pulled the door open and signaled I get down, which I did.

"Where are we?" I asked, and he sighed heavily with his gaze focused on my face.

"Do you want to go in?" He asked, and I shook my head in denial. I didn't want to be here in the first place, so why would I want to go into a place I have no idea about?

"This is a clinic," he added, and I raised a brow. What were we doing in a clinic?

"It's a clinic for mentally unstable people, for psychopaths, and guess what? I am not in there, so do you know what that means?"

My eyes widened in shock. He had driven me here in a haste just to make me understand that he wasn't a crazy person, and that's why he wasn't in a center.

We were arguing about something more important, about how he ruined my life, and this was what he found important?

"If you would have taken me to get a divorce, then I would have understood that you are not crazy, but you are very much crazy, Yan. I hate you so much; I hate you more than I ever hated you," I scolded, and he held my hand in his.

"Please Ava…"

"I hate the sight of you; if you are really not crazy, then take the signs and never show up in my life." I hurried past him and walked for a while before I stopped a cab and got in.

I clutched my chest tightly; how could Yan do this to me?

He couldn't just marry me this way; that was not how things were done. He came back after these years with no reasonable reason why he had to leave.

Why he had to chase me even when he was married and why he didn't come back when he found out that I was pregnant.

-

I got home and spotted Cynthia and the kids in the sitting room. I hurried to my bedroom and sat down beside the bed.

I was tired and exhausted about everything. A week ago, I was happy that my life was going on so well despite what people think of me, but Yan came in right on time to ruin it for me.

My door slightly pushed open, and I saw my kids peek. "Come on in," I said, and they pushed the door and walked in.

"Mommy, are you sad because of our father?" Lily asked as she sat on my thighs, and I smiled at them.

"Do I look sad?"

"Yes, mommy," Ryan replied before he pulled my cheeks.

"If you hate him, then we hate him too."

I laughed "Oh, you really hate him too?" I asked, and they had cheeky looks; it was obvious that they had so much affection for him even when he had bluntly told them he wasn't interested in kids. Such a crazy man.

My phone rang; I checked the caller, and it was Yan. I ignored it and turned to Fred. "What do you have to say? Are you happy now?"

He had asked if he wanted to bond with his dad, so this marriage arrangement was so much to his convenience.

"You will soon be happy," Fred replied, and I got confused. What did he mean by that?

"I would have been happy if Yan didn't interrupt my life, but well..."

"No, mommy, you wouldn't have been happy," Fred stated, and I couldn't understand his words.

My phone rang again, and I snorted. I ended the call and made sure to block Yan before I threw the phone away.

"Can I ask a favor from you all?" I gathered them around. "Can you please not tell anyone that Yan and I are married?"

What was I saying? "Can you not tell anyone that he is your dad?" I pleaded, and they all frowned.

"Will you let us hang out with him?" Ryan asked, and I nodded. Of course I will. I couldn't take that away from them, but at least I didn't want people to know that he was their dad.

"If he wants to hang out with us, then you will accept?" Lily asked, and I nodded.

They smiled at me before they all hugged me. "Mommy, I love you," Lily whispered, my little fragile princess.

*

The next morning I didn't wake up early as it was a Sunday; I could only stare at my ceiling for a while and wish everything happening was a dream.

I was married to Yan Earlton, the man I prayed never to come across again.

Then I heard some noise from downstairs. I wore my robe and slippers before I hurried out of the bedroom.

Standing from the balcony, I could see the kids discussing with Yan. What the fuck was he doing here?

I hurried downstairs, and he smiled at me. "Good morning, princess; I got this for you," Yan said as he took out a teddy bear from the bag and shoved it to me.

"You didn't get us one," Lily said in disbelief.

"Well, if I had bought four teddy bears, then it wouldn't be special anymore, would it?" He asked, and I could see the shocked look on their faces.

"Yan, what the hell?"

"Hold on," he told me before he walked to the door.

"Can you kids go out first? I need to discuss some adult things with your mom."

What?

Why was he sending them out of the house? He could have chosen to send them to their bedrooms upstairs, but he was holding the door wide open as if he wanted to eagerly throw them out of the house.

"This is our house." Ryan jumped on the couch; he didn't look like someone who would obey Yan and go out.

Fred and Lily also joined him on the couch, and I smiled at Yan. "They don't want you here as well, so could you leave?"

"But I am not done giving my gifts," he said, slipping his hand in his suitcase and taking out a ring box.

"I didn't get you a wedding ring yesterday, but I got it now. The ring is so big that even a blind man will feel it from afar that you are married. No more suitors, my beautiful wife," he explained with a joking tone.

"Is that so?" I asked and took out the ring and scanned it; it was indeed expensive.

Then I frowned and threw it out of the door. "Get out of my house; I will only ever accept a gift from you if it snows blood. Do you get that? So leave"

He raised a brow. "So if it snows blood, then you will accept my gifts?"

That was just a statement to tell him that it was impossible for me to accept a gift from him, so why was he being irritating?

"Then blood it is; if it doesn't snow blood, then I am not your husband," he chuckled and walked out of the house as I pulled my hair frustratedly. What was he going to do? Kill the angels and let their blood drop on us?
