บท 67: Old Pops!!

"Tony's going home, Coulson is taking Thor to find his girlfriend, Jane..."

At the entrance of Tony's mansion, the group was preparing to go their separate ways.

"And where are you going?"

Tony, sitting in his luxury car with sunglasses on, looked at Lynch.

"Me?"

Lynch flashed a mysterious smile.

"I'm going to fish out an old popsicle from the North Pole."

"What?"

Tony thought he misheard.

"What do you mean?"

"You'll know when I come back!"

Lynch slowly floated into the air, taking Natasha along with him.

"Oh! So you've unlocked two-player mode now?"

Tony took off his glasses in surprise and exclaimed, "That's kind of cool!"

"See you later!"

Lynch laughed, and in Natasha's surprised gasp, the two turned into a small dot in the sky.

"I think driving would be safer, don't you think?"

Watching them disappear quickly from view, Coulson asked Thor with a friendly smile and a sincere tone.

"Then let's drive. I don't know the way."

Thor didn't mind, after all, he wasn't keen on flying with another man.

...

In the sky, Natasha held tightly onto Lynch's waist, her expression becoming increasingly stiff.

As a highly trained, experienced agent, facial control was a basic skill.

Usually, she could display happiness, anger, sadness, and more with ease, better than most actors.

Of course, unless it's in a situation like this.

Feeling the violent, knife-like gusts of wind cutting past, everything around them blurring due to their high speed...

Natasha had only one thought in her mind:

I want to get off!

This is not the "Would you like to fly with me? I'll take you to see the horizon and sky!" you promised!

"Are you okay?"

Lynch noticed her strange expression and asked, confused.

He was genuinely puzzled by Natasha's reaction.

There was a protective bio-field, the speed was controlled to be slow, so why did she still look so uncomfortable?

Wasn't the sky blue enough, or the sea clear enough? Isn't high-speed flying fun?

Hmph, women are really hard to please!

"Do I look okay to you?"

Natasha gritted her teeth, furious, and pinched Lynch's waist.

Unfortunately, with Lynch's physical strength...

"Oh!"

Natasha's expression turned even more sour.

"Can't you at least let me pinch you properly?"

"My bad! It's all my fault!"

Lynch decided not to argue with her.

Only foolish men argue with women!

A veteran like him would never make such a rookie mistake.

Natasha closed her eyes, calming her emotions.

No anger, stay in control...

"How much longer until we arrive?"

"Five minutes!"

Lynch replied instantly.

"You said that five minutes ago!"

Natasha was on the verge of breaking down.

"This time it's true!"

He had slowed down because she seemed uncomfortable. He could have gotten there in ten seconds!

Hmph, women are holding me back from my adventures!

"Okay! What are we going to do, exactly?"

Natasha decided to drop the argument and change the topic.

"Do you remember, seventy years ago, someone went missing here?"

Lynch hinted mysteriously.

"Seventy years ago?"

Natasha murmured, thinking it over.

Seventy years ago, the North Pole, missing...

The words slowly connected in Natasha's mind, and suddenly a lightbulb went off—

"Captain America?"

Natasha was shocked.

"He didn't die?"

Lynch smiled, pleased with her quick thinking.

"Yes, the first superhero in history, a war hero from World War II, and the symbol of American spirit—Captain America, Steve Rogers."

After a pause, Lynch continued:

"After completing his final mission, he fell into an iceberg and has been frozen for over seventy years, but he didn't die."

"That's unbelievable!"

Natasha was speechless with astonishment.

"You're flying, and you tell me that's unbelievable?"

Lynch burst into laughter.

"So, we're going to save him?"

Natasha still found it hard to believe.

"Yes, he's been sleeping for too long. We need him! This world needs him!"

Lynch spoke with deep meaning.

"We need him? Are you serious?"

Natasha couldn't understand.

With Lynch's power, why would they need Captain America?

A hundred Captain Americas wouldn't stand a chance against Lynch, would they?

And then there's Iron Man, the Hulk, and even the newly introduced Thor. Which one of them could Captain America beat?

This era is no longer the tech-limited World War II period!

New things keep appearing, even ordinary criminals with high-tech weapons can cause massive damage!

Natasha doubted what Captain America could contribute if he came back.

Was Lynch planning to make him a celebrity again?

"Of course, he's the Captain!"

Lynch, sensing her thoughts, laughed and said, "Don't underestimate him."

Natasha stayed silent.

She wasn't underestimating him; she was just being realistic.

After all, she had injected a serum similar to the one that created Captain America, but even she often felt powerless facing these strange beings.

Sometimes, she would think pessimistically—if more of them appeared, how terrifying would the future of this world become?

It was unimaginable!

"Don't worry, I'm here."

Lynch reached out and gently stroked Natasha's smooth hair, comforting her softly.

Natasha smiled warmly, calming down.

"I know."

With him around, this world would be fine, right?

...

"We're here."

The two floated in the sky, looking down at the endless ice and snow below.

Lynch activated his super vision and x-ray vision, carefully searching for Captain America.

Standing in the middle of the icebergs, Lynch could see everything within a thousand miles, down to the finest detail.

His gaze swept over the ice and the sea beneath but found no trace of Captain America.

He turned slightly and looked farther away.

A few seconds later, his eyes lit up.

"Found him!"

Holding Natasha, Lynch quickly flew to a massive iceberg.

Using his x-ray vision, he saw the still-frozen Captain America inside.

His eyes glowed red, releasing two thin beams of heat vision that carefully cut through the massive iceberg.

As the heat vision moved, cutting through the giant block of ice, a crystal-clear chunk containing Captain America was lifted in front of them by Lynch's telekinesis.

Without any medical equipment on hand, Lynch was worried that reviving Captain America from the ice might leave him with health issues, so he decided to transport him, ice and all, elsewhere.

"Oh my god! It really is Captain America! I've seen pictures of him..."

Natasha exclaimed in amazement.

"Have I ever lied to you?"

Lynch chuckled, then began searching for something else—the Tesseract.

But after a few minutes, Lynch frowned slightly.

He had thoroughly scanned the thousand-mile radius but found no trace of the Tesseract.

At this point, he began to question the information he remembered.

Lynch activated his super-brain, recalling and analyzing the movie scenes he'd seen before, finally coming to a conclusion...

The Tesseract wasn't where Captain America was frozen; it was with S.H.I.E.L.D.

Decades ago, Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark, should have retrieved the Tesseract for research, and it had been with S.H.I.E.L.D. for the past seventy years.

At the current time, Fury had likely just handed it to Dr. Erik Selvig for study, as seen in Thor.

Later, Loki would use it to summon an army, and eventually, it would fall into the hands of Thanos.

With that in mind, Lynch flew closer to Natasha and wrapped an arm around her.

"Let's go!"
