บท 30: You need something?

Hell's Kitchen, located on the west side of Manhattan in New York City, is officially known as Clinton. It was once a slum, and over the years it became synonymous with crime and evil, supplying New York's underworld with countless gang members and criminals.

In the Marvel Universe, Hell's Kitchen is one of its top tourist spots. Despite its small size, it gathers superheroes and supervillains from all over, making it a dazzling gem in the criminal heart of New York. In Hell's Kitchen, you can find but are not limited to the following Marvel heroes:

The iconic figure of Hell's Kitchen—Daredevil. As a child, he was blinded by radioactive chemicals but gained enhanced hearing and extraordinary physical coordination. At night, he patrols as a vigilante, known by some as the "Devil of Hell's Kitchen." By day, he's Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer. You can easily chat with him under the pretense of needing legal advice.

Not far from Hell's Kitchen is Harlem, home to another hero, Luke Cage. A muscular Black man who grew up on the streets, Luke was framed and sent to prison. To reduce his sentence, he volunteered for a military experiment, gaining super strength and impenetrable skin. After leaving prison, he started protecting his neighborhood and became known as the Hero of Harlem.

Then there's Jessica Jones, a small, black-haired, brown-eyed tough girl who's always in a denim jacket, jeans, and boots. She's got a bad temper and suffers from PTSD after being controlled by the villain Kilgrave. You can find her at a place called "Alias Investigations."

Another hero, rooted in Chinese culture, is Iron Fist, the last member of the Defenders in Hell's Kitchen. He was born into wealth but survived a plane crash during a family trip, landing in the mystical city of K'un-Lun. There, he trained in martial arts, defeated an immortal being, and earned the title of Iron Fist. Returning to New York, he avenged his family and fought against the Hand, a criminal organization.

There's also the famous anti-hero, the Punisher. Advice: if you see him, your best option is...

Run!

Don't hesitate, or you might not live to regret it.

Of course, heroes need villains, and Hell's Kitchen has plenty, including but not limited to:

Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, who rules the underworld, fighting Daredevil, the Punisher, and even Spider-Man.

Bullseye, a deranged assassin working for Fisk, who can turn anything into a deadly projectile.

Kilgrave, a psychopath who loves mind control.

...

Hell's Kitchen is a unique place, best explored at night. In some inconspicuous bars, you can experience the authentic Hell's Kitchen.

Dim, flickering neon lights, chaotic noise, women in flashy dresses with heavy makeup, wafting cheap perfume, and muscular gangsters, tattooed with snakes and tigers, spewing crude language—this is the true essence of Hell's Kitchen.

Like the man standing in front of Lynch.

A burly man, red-faced, reached out a not-so-clean hand toward Lynch, muttering curses.

There was no real conflict, just a drunk looking for someone to bully and release his pent-up anger. And Lynch, sitting nearby with his youthful Asian face, stylish attire, and accessories, seemed an easy target in this rough environment.

What could Lynch do?

He decided to follow the rules of Hell's Kitchen. Grabbing the man's finger, Lynch twisted it with disgust.

The man howled in pain, instantly sobering up a little, and, in desperation, kicked at Lynch.

Lynch stood up, grabbed his leg, and gently threw him.

The man sailed through the air, crashing through the bar's door and landing on the street outside.

Dusting off his hands, Lynch sat back down, and the bar immediately grew quieter. The mocking laughter and prying eyes around him quickly vanished.

Adjusting his sunglasses, Lynch took a sip of his cola, finding it tasteless.

Two days in Hell's Kitchen, and he hadn't encountered a single superhero or interesting villain. Just irritating, stupid little thugs who were more tiresome than challenging.

The drunk outside stumbled to his feet, cursing as he walked away.

Lynch considered leaving but overheard the man muttering about coming back with friends. So, he sat back down.

In Hell's Kitchen, how could you not stir things up?

The bigger the trouble, the better!

Fifteen minutes later, Lynch finished his soda and stepped outside.

The drunk had returned with three or four companions, all glaring at Lynch.

"That's him!" The drunk pointed at Lynch, panting with anger.

Their leader was not tall or strong, but his face was vicious.

"Russian mafia?" Lynch muttered to himself. Their features were a dead giveaway.

"You're dead, kid!"

Without wasting words, the leader pulled out a metal pipe and charged, followed by his gang.

Lynch stretched his neck, standing still. As they came at him with weapons, he gracefully dodged and struck back with a single powerful punch.

In no time, they were all on the ground.

"Don't come near me!" The drunk was now fully sober, shouting in fear as Lynch walked slowly toward him with a smile.

"Don't worry, I'm quick. You'll only feel a second of pain," Lynch said sincerely, extending a pale fist.

"Go to hell!"

Panicking, the drunk pulled out a small gun and fired wildly.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sharp sound echoed through the night, startling some birds off a streetlamp.

But nothing else happened.

Lynch's face turned cold as he opened his hand, dropping the twisted bullets onto the ground.

The drunk stared in disbelief, muttering "monster" and "devil" before collapsing in a puddle of fear, wetting himself.

With a look of disgust, Lynch knocked him out with a single kick, ending the man's nightmare.

Then, casually, Lynch left before the onlookers arrived.

After walking for about ten minutes, he suddenly stopped under a streetlamp and looked back.

"Is there something you need?"

He calmly spoke to a figure trying to hide behind the lamp, startled by Lynch's awareness.
