บท 10: Blood for Blood!!!

Lynch slowly floated up from the chair, silently savoring the sensation of flight.

Outside the cage, chaos erupted among everyone present.

"Oh my God, he's flying!"

"His wounds have completely healed! How is this possible?"

"It's the light! He's reborn in the sunlight!"

"Sound the alarm, activate the defense systems! This place can't hold him!"

The group scurried around like ants on a hot plate.

It took half a minute for the blaring alarm to finally go off.

"I know what he is!"

A young researcher exclaimed, his face a mix of shock and disbelief.

All eyes turned to him.

With trembling hands, he raised his phone.

Displayed on the screen was a picture from Wikipedia—a tall, muscular figure in a blue bodysuit, red cape, and the iconic "S" symbol.

The entry's name was "Superman."

He began reading out loud, his voice laced with fear: "He is invulnerable, possesses immense strength, has X-ray vision, can shoot heat rays from his eyes, can fly like a bird... He absorbs sunlight to convert into energy, healing quickly and powering his abilities..."

By the time he finished, his face was filled with terror.

"Isn't Superman a fictional character?"

The man in white seemed to have found the answer, though it was one he couldn't believe.

"Are you Superman?" he murmured, stepping closer to Lynch, desperate for an answer.

His curiosity overpowered his survival instincts; at this moment, he just wanted to know Lynch's true identity.

Lynch glanced at him indifferently and replied, "No, I'm not Superman."

Seeing the man's confused and disappointed expression, Lynch added, "But I am a Kryptonian."

With that, Lynch felt that he had almost fully recovered.

He raised his head, and two beams of even hotter, more powerful heat vision shot out.

He maintained the heat vision for a full ten seconds, nearly destroying everything above him, revealing a path to the sky.

He then retracted the heat vision, twisted his body, and flew towards the bright, sunny sky.

Soaring high, Lynch felt incredibly comfortable and couldn't help but close his eyes.

The warm sunlight made him feel as if he were back in his cozy childhood bed.

But his pleasant memory was short-lived—a rocket interrupted his peace.

Lynch opened his eyes and scanned the military camp below.

It was a temporary military base, not very large, with a few hundred personnel and only small-scale missiles as the most powerful weapons.

Looking down at the somewhat chaotic soldiers, Lynch's face showed a brewing anger and hatred.

He hadn't forgotten that these people almost killed him. If he hadn't reacted quickly, he might now be a cold, lifeless specimen in a lab.

With just a glance, his heat vision struck the rocket, setting off a brilliant explosion.

Seething with rage and fury, Lynch, high above, spoke:

"Blood for blood. Are you ready to bleed?"

"Emergency assembly! Emergency assembly!"

"Grab your gear, emergency assembly! This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill!"

"What is that?"

"Did something go wrong in the lab?"

"Oh my God! Another monster!"

...

"Don't panic!"

General Ross commanded, striding quickly to the center of the camp, his face stern.

"Get ready for battle!" General Ross shouted at the panicking soldiers.

Just then, a short, sinister-looking officer ran up to him and asked, "Sir, what is that thing?"

General Ross didn't meet his gaze, continuing to walk briskly as he replied, "A newly discovered experiment, captured just today."

"A new experiment?" A flash of displeasure crossed the short officer's eyes. "And now there's an incident? Do you need me to handle it?"

General Ross didn't respond, instead, he reached the center of the camp, looking up at Lynch.

He stared at Lynch for a moment, expressionless, then turned to the officer beside him, saying gravely, "Of course, if you can."

In the air, Lynch leisurely watched the troops below.

He didn't attack immediately; he wanted these people to understand who they had provoked, so they wouldn't bother him again in the future.

Establishing dominance required overwhelming force.

"Ross, are you surprised to see me again?"

Lynch's calm voice came from the sky, creating an unsettling feeling among the soldiers.

Some couldn't help but glance at General Ross, noticing his face was expressionless.

"What do you want?" General Ross asked stiffly.

Lynch chuckled.

"What else would I want besides your life?"

General Ross wasn't surprised; it wasn't the first time he'd faced such a situation.

Many people he had wronged through his experiments wanted his life.

But he was never afraid because he was loyal to his country, and everything he did was without personal motive.

Even if he were to die, it would be in service to his country, a noble death. In his mind, it was as it should be.

Everything was for the greater good; individual losses were insignificant in comparison.

So, the experiments that others saw as inhumane or even crimes against humanity, he carried out without guilt.

Because if the country ever needed his life, he would give it without hesitation.

"If you can." General Ross replied, standing tall.

Lynch looked at the fearless Ross, feeling a bit disinterested.

Killing someone like Ross wouldn't satisfy his need for retribution.

How could he make Ross suffer the punishment he deserved?

As he pondered, Lynch noticed the familiar face of the short officer beside Ross.

Then, he formed a plan.

Lynch let out a cold snort, and two beams of heat vision shot out, aiming directly at Ross.

"Open fire! Return fire!" someone shouted.

But the heat vision didn't hit Ross; instead, it drew a circle around him amidst the chaos.

"If I wanted to, I could kill you anytime."

Lynch hovered in the air, unfazed by the attacks hitting him, like a god or demon.

In the sunlight, he smiled like a bright, sunny boy.

But everyone below felt a chill to their bones.

"But not now, not here. That would be too easy for you."

Lynch stared at Ross's fearless yet repugnant face.

"Before I blacked out, I swore to make you die with endless regret and pain."

Lynch's gaze shifted, and heat vision shot from his eyes, symbols of death.

"Let me give you a taste now."

He gently turned his head, sweeping his heat vision across the camp, turning everything in its path—buildings, weapons—into charred remains.

At first, General Ross's soldiers fought back fiercely with every weapon they had.

Rifles, machine guns, rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles...

But when they realized that their most powerful weapons couldn't harm Lynch, they crumbled.

Everyone dropped their weapons and ran for their lives, desperately trying to dodge the death rays.

In just a few minutes, no one dared to attack Lynch.

Large groups of soldiers huddled together, shivering, raising their hands in surrender.

Lynch retracted his heat vision, sparing those who surrendered.

The heat vision hadn't killed many; most who tried to escape managed to do so.

Those who died were the ones determined to kill Lynch.

Now, the once-large camp, with its hundreds of soldiers, had completely lost its will to fight.

Lynch had won, defeating a modern military unit single-handedly.

He slowly descended, wanting to return to the ground and savor Ross's reaction.

"Bang!"

Suddenly, a bullet struck his face.

Lynch's eyelid twitched, and his anger flared again.

He turned to see who it was and couldn't help but laugh.

It was an old acquaintance—the short officer, Blonsky.

"Do you want to die?"
