บท 26: Chapter 26 Beastman Gained the Upper Hand

Although there were many houses, they did not need elaborate renovations, and they were mainly used as storage houses.

Even the items stored in the warehouse were not prohibited goods, so there was no need to worry about others seeing them. Thus, it took only a few days to finish the basic renovations.

The only troublesome part was breaking through some of the rooms and adding steps.

The newly made steps would still need a few days to dry and were not usable yet.

However, the lift outside was already usable because its framework was stable.

"It's really troublesome, these Beastmen never know when to stop."

Over the past few days, Zhao Guang had often opened the Space Gate and placed the cameras through it to observe the other side. Having cameras made the visits to the Otherworld much safer and more controllable.

But all he had seen these past few days were Beastmen. Occasionally, Beastmen would run by.

There were a few times humans came by, but they were chased by the Beastmen in no time at all, making it impossible to do anything. Yet, they were already rushing him to deliver the arrows from their factory to them.

"Ah, if it really comes down to it, I might as well trade with the Beastmen first."

Considering the various items he had purchased, the Beastmen had things he needed as well. Touching his butt, he realized the wounds there had finally healed after these busy days.

Checking in the mirror yesterday, there wasn't a single scar on his butt, which was quite miraculous.

"Hey, Factory Director Liu? I'm ready over here, send the goods over."

"No problem, I'll arrange it now. They should arrive in about two hours."

Zhao Guang observed the other side while he waited. It did not feel like much time had passed when the arrows were delivered. Just looking at this huge pile of arrows turned Zhao Guang's face a bit pale.

One hundred thousand arrows, it sounded like just a number, but in reality, it filled a huge truck—not just any truck but a large one. "This is killing me, really killing me."

Zhao Guang's gaze shifted towards the workers unloading the truck.

"Guys, give me a hand, let's get it all up there. There's an elevator on this side."

"Big brother, are you trying to wear us out?" Even to these workers, the sheer volume of goods was daunting.

"Ten thousand, ten thousand each." Zhao Guang held up a finger, not much concerned about this small amount of money anymore. Even if he didn't find other goods to use, he could still sell batches of gold periodically.

At the mention of this figure, everyone's eyes lit up.

It was a lot more than what they could make in a year. The foreman swallowed hard: "I'll talk to the others, and we'll discuss it."

Zhao Guang's smile became even brighter: "Finish it before evening, and I'll give you an extra twenty thousand, for you personally."

"Rest assured, even if I end up paralyzed here, I will get it done before tonight."

With that, the foreman dashed to the back, and his loud voice could be heard in the distance, "Listen up, the boss wants us to move these props upstairs, five thousand each. If we can finish before tonight, eight thousand each."

"What, eight thousand each? Can I come help? I don't need eight thousand, five thousand is fine for me."

A neighbor from the building next door heard this, and leaving behind a crying child, he immediately ran over.

Zhao Guang looked at the huge truckload, then thought for a moment and nodded: "Alright, let's get a few more people, but no more than five." He wasn't a fool with money, willing to spend but not to squander.

The result was beyond Zhao Guang's expectations: within minutes, all five of them had gathered, nearly coming to blows over the available spots.

The foreman wasn't worried, though; no matter how many people showed up, they were there to help with the work, which wouldn't affect him personally. He'd get paid the same regardless, as Zhao Guang hadn't mentioned cutting their wages.

With so many hands on deck, the progress was exceptionally fast.

Forget about the evening, they would probably be done by three o'clock at the latest.

"Ah, it's a pity they can't help transport goods to the Otherworld, or else things would be even easier."

Zhao Guang picked up an arrow and admired it—this thing was quite exquisite.

Enough looking, time to scram. Let them get on with it while Zhao Guang headed inside the building to continue his planning based on the situation.

"Looks like I have to connect all of the third floor, make it into a large warehouse, then I'll move to the second floor to live. Just leave one wall of the restroom intact, though I need to build a few more walls to block this side."

In Zhao Guang's eyes, the entire building served the Space Gate; nothing else mattered.

He kept busy until three o'clock, then promptly settled the wages and watched as the group left cheerfully.

"Boss Zhao, if you have more projects later, come find us; we'll give you a discount."

"Sure, sure, I'll be troubling you a lot in the future," Zhao Guang said as he looked at the other person's business card and reluctantly wrote his own phone number on the back to hand to them. "Looks like, I need to print some business cards."

Back home, he opened the Space Gate, and sure enough, a beastman was on the other side.

No choice, better go find the beastman first. Zhao Guang turned around, took the disassembled tricycle, which didn't need a battery this time, making things a bit easier.

Then, Zhao Guang started transporting the goods to the other side.

"Brother Zhao Guang, finally seeing you again! These are the spicy wines, right?"

Kapas leaned in with his massive head, eyeing the chili oil that had been mixed with wine, saliva dripping from his mouth. Ever since he had a taste last time, he'd been thinking about it day and night, almost unable to sleep.

"Exactly, these are drinkable as is." Pure or not, they probably wouldn't notice.

Really, might as well drink yourselves to death.

"That's fantastic! We've been craving spicy wine so much we couldn't sleep, only finding solace in bothering humans."

Zhao Guang's eyes widened—it turned out that the frequent sightings of beastmen were his fault. Was he making trouble for himself? Damn, that's even more irritating.

"Well, you've still got to rest properly, don't you?"

Zhao Guang quickly assembled the tricycle and said, "I've got quite a few things this time; come over and take them, don't drop them. I'll be right across, delivering."

"Roger that." Kapas stood in front of a stone, uncertain of what Zhao Guang was planning.

But since he mentioned it, it was best to comply—Brother Zhao Guang wouldn't harm his own, right? "You guys, come over here!" Kapas called to the others who hadn't yet come over, urging them to gather quickly.

Just after he gave the instruction, a barrel of chili oil flew out from the stone.

Kapas hurriedly caught it with his hands, and then another barrel came flying—he stretched out his other hand. Just then, a third barrel flew towards him; Kapas looked left and right and then opened his mouth wide to catch the barrel of chili oil.
