The memory came flooding back, clawing its way into Keira's mind as she lay curled against Kellan, a silent reminder that her past would never be truly gone. 

She could still feel the way her wrists ached from the rough ropes, the burn of fear spreading through her chest as the two men had grabbed her without warning, their silent expressions hard and unyielding. 

They'd pulled her into a dark car, the world around her fading to black as the blindfold covered her eyes, leaving her in the silent grip of dread.

The ride had been long, the vibrations of the road making her stomach churn as her thoughts spiraled.

 She'd known who had sent them before they even arrived at the desolate, forgotten house by the sea, its abandoned walls echoing with the faint whisper of waves crashing in the distance.
