Rose wasn't concerned actually. How can a weak human attack a witch? Or even a strong bodyguard? She could easily trick them. But the exact solution hadn't come to her mind.
She wasn't naive so she knew exactly who made this happen. She was waiting.
"Stop, how can you do this?" An anxious voice sounded and Rose smiled.
There it was.
"Miss Claudia," the girls looked at her.
"Uncle, how can you treat a guest this way?" She frowned.
The man smiled at her.
"Ah, you girl, you are right." He smiled at her and then turned to Rose.
"Because Miss Claudia is here, I'm excusing you. Next time, don't trick my daughter."
Rose didn't answer. She didn't need to. This drama needed her as the audience and a participant. It was all played for her especially.
The girls then dispersed. Rose watched them leave. But was she going to let them go? She sent bad luck spells to them all.
The girl who wanted to tear her dress and fell on her face tripped again. Yes, her bad luck was starting now. If you do bad, prepare to be retaliated.
"Ah, Miss. I'm so sorry."
Seeing her self-blaming look, Rose felt that if she didn't know her true colors, she would probably fall in love with her. Who wouldn't want such a good friend? Rose sadly, didn't have this destiny.
"It's okay, Miss. Bad things happen to good people."
Rose had the chance to look at the shocked expression on her face. That was awesome to see. Claudia caught herself in time and then gave her a quick smile.
Rose was still questioning her motives. What reason did she have to become close to her?
"Miss, you look so beautiful. I always wondered which lady could capture Mr. Walden's heart. Now I know."
That praise was falling on deaf ears.
Rose didn't want to answer but she had to. Before she could, she saw June coming with Asher. June was great. She went to get help. It was just a bit late though. Maybe that's why, this scene ended so early.
"Babe, I'm so sorry."
Asher fell into his caring boyfriend role too early. He put his arms around her and checked her up and down as if to see if she was hurt somewhere.
"It's okay. I'm good now."
Asher then sighed with relief.
"Who are those people? Show me! I'll take revenge. They can't get away hurting my heart."
Wasn't this laying on too thick? Rose didn't know but June there was shocked. She opened her mouth in an O expression. Claudia, well, Claudia wasn't faring well. June could hear her teeth grinding.
"Mr. Walden, don't worry. I sent them all away. I didn't allow them to bully Miss."
Asher then noticed her presence.
Seeing his eyes all on the girl, Claudia was even more angry.
"Oh, it's you."
Claudia's smile was just like she was crying. The person she spent her whole heart on didn't notice her and when he did, he blew her off in an unknown dimension with his callous words.
June snickered.
Rose also wanted to laugh. She wouldn't have if Claudia hadn't targeted her. You can't be good to your enemy. It's like harming yourself.
A witch will never harm herself.
It's not wrong that Asher's mom called witches selfish. They are. Really selfish.
"Tell me who was talking the most then."
Asher wasn't letting go of this matter.
Before Rose could answer, Claudia interrupted. Again.
"I have scolded them for you, Mr. Walden. They won't try this again."
"It was from Dream Group."
Claudia glanced at Rose and Rose was looking at Asher.
Rose could understand Claudia's actions. She wouldn't want these people to be punished. Also, she wouldn't worry if they were really punished.
She wasn't directly involved with them. She was just the person who was reaping the profits.
"Thank you but no. I have to work to avenge my girlfriend."
Rose nodded.
"Yes, cousin. Don't listen to her. You didn't see how those idiots were trying to corner cousin-in-law."
"Cousin-in-law? Miss June, they aren't married yet. You shouldn't call inappropriately."
June rolled her eyes at her.
"Doesn't matter to me, Miss Claudia."
June answered in a fake way and successfully earned a smile from Rose. No one could probably imitate her tone.
"Come with me."
Asher took Rose to the side room.
"Wait here. I'll have to give a speech and then we can leave."
Rose nodded. She was just making an appearance here. Her appearance fees were higher than the celebrities here. So she diligently acted in the role of an obedient girlfriend.
There was no one near her. So, she started a system broadcast to see what was happening near the dais.
It was really entertaining.
"Asher, you are here."
Asher's Dad was really happy to see him. But Asher was not.
Henry Walden was hand in hand with his current wife Nicole. Nicole was an actress who was not at all loved by the audience. She didn't have any notable works but she was good looking.
"Asher!" She nodded.
It was good that she never tried to be close to him. They maintained their status quo. But that didn't mean he couldn't see her calculations.
"Let's go."
The event was for the old people who stuck with the Walden group. It was their celebration.
Henry wanted to talk with them but he was neglected.
Asher was the important person to this event so obviously his speech was the last.
And that allowed some unscrupulous people to gain an advantage.
Henry was yapping for so long and he dropped a bombshell at the final moment.
"And that's why I'm so happy to announce the marriage of my son Asher and my stepdaughter Mimi. Let's all congratulate."
Mimi stood up and stood beside Henry with glowing eyes.
Asher didn't react. He didn't negate. That was automatic acceptance.
Rose felt something was wrong. She couldn't define it but she felt. She didn't focus on it long enough before she realized maybe Asher was in trouble.
Asher stood up. He stood beside Henry and took the mic amid great applause.
"Thank you everyone. My dear father is right. We are getting married."
Rose felt wrong. And somewhat sad.
Who wants to hit Asher?
Haha. Trust me it gets better!
You asked! And here is Rose's character image. do you love it?
