Shao He's threat infuriated Old Madam Chu, her chest heaving dramatically with anger.

Chu Yu, hearing the commotion, rushed over and saw the undisguised disgust in Shao He's eyes.

His brows knitted slightly as he asked, "Grandmother, what happened?"

"This vile wench cursed me, claiming she would see to the end of our family line, utter nonsense!"

Chu Yu glanced coldly at Shao He and, without hesitation, raised his hand to slap her.

Shao He effortlessly dodged and struck back in return.

Slap—

The clear, resounding sound of the slap echoed in the quiet hall.

Chu Yu was stunned, the burning pain on his cheek snapping him back to reality as he incredulously stared at Shao He, a trickle of blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.

Chu Yu hadn't expected Shao He to dodge, much less retaliate with a slap of her own. He didn't manage to avoid it in time.
