"Uh, Honey dear. Our son just built a building complex overnight."

Betty informed her husband, who was busy disassembling the Dispenser, Sentry Gun, and Teleporter that their son had given him.

"Betty, I've told you our boy's a Psyker. So, it shouldn't surprise you that he can do the impossible."

Viktor made this remark without diverting his attention from the gadgets he was dismantling.

"Really? You know, Viktor, my dear, I would take you more seriously if you actually paid attention to what I'm saying!"

She shouted, then pulled her husband out of the converted carrier workshop, and he removed his goggles to get a better look at the building complex.

"So what, Betty? Our son built a building. What's the big deal?"

"Viktor, I know you're eccentric. But could you estimate how long it would take to construct a building that size?"

"Hmm... With a regular crew, several months to a year. With professionals, maybe a month or two."

"NOW! Do you understand my concern?"

...

"...Oh. Now I see what you mean, honey. But as I've said, Psyker powers are Brahmin shit."

After leaving his mother to manage the building complex, Six returned to the saloon to meet Trudy. He immediately inquired about the old school building and whether it was for sale.

"That old place? It's been deserted for years and is infested with giant mantises. If you clear them out, the building is yours."

"So, I just need to deal with the infestation and I get a building for free... Best. Day. Ever."

He ventured alone to inspect the old school building. It was surrounded by a fence except for a damaged corner. Entering through the main gate with his Desert Eagles ready, he was prepared to engage.

Upon his third step, his Perception alerted him to enemies. Using Vats, he spotted eight mantises. Unaware of his presence, the mantises were vulnerable. Seizing the chance, he aimed and fired at the closest one.

Bang!

Striking it at the center of its body with a critical hit, he sent the mantis reeling back. The others finally took notice of Six's presence and began to swarm towards him. He stepped back, activated Vats, and had enough points to aim for their heads.

With each shot, Six resembled a cowboy performing a hat trick. He fired so rapidly that one could miss it with a blink, executing all shots within a second. Twirling his Desert Eagles, he then holstered them.

Upon inspecting the building, he found two egg sacs. From looting them, he obtained three mantis eggs. He proceeded to thoroughly loot the place, clearing out all the lockers, desks, and any other unnecessary items within the old school building.

This left the interior mostly tidy, aside from the cracked wall paint and the floors. The building appeared to be in a serviceable state, but he chose not to take any chances. He demolished the building, with his Settlement Builder Workshop, and constructed a large, traditional Country Store resembling the Prospector Saloon.

Now, Six needed someone to manage this store, and the first person who came to mind was his mother. On his way to his parents' location, he came across Dora playing with ED-E.

"Yay! You can't catch me, robots, you can't catch me!"

She laughed, darting away from ED-E in a game of tag.

"DORA!!! Where's mom?"

"Oh, Mom? Yeah, she's with Dad and Big Sis Becca in the Carrier. Grandpa Pete wouldn't let any of us go outside because it's too dangerous, and we might get hurt. Cranky old goat!"

"Ugh... I'm starting to regret letting you spend time with Rebecca."

After finding his mother, he brought her and Rebecca to see the new country store he had constructed. His mother, Betty, was skeptical, but she decided to trust his word and stepped outside for one last look at the building.

"Well, son, we need to think of a proper name for this store. We can't just call it the old school building; it needs a catchy name."

"How about 'El Coyote Cojo'? That's all I've got."

Suggested Rebecca.

"No, Rebecca, but you're onto something."

Betty responded.

"How about 'Six's Store of Adventure,' with six cards as the sign? Yeah, that'll work, right son."

"Holy shit, Mom! Where did that come from?"

"Remember, son, I was the creative one in our family's caravan business."

"So, what else do we need, Mom, to open the store?"

"Not much, son. Just the sign and some decorations. The building you've built is fine as it is and it's functional."

He then set out to create the sign and assist with the decorations. The trio visited the Prospector Saloon to announce the store's upcoming opening. The news was met with excitement from everyone in town—everyone, that is, except Chet, who now faced competition.

On the second day, Six gathered all the scraps and trash around Goodsprings, cleaning up the area. He then remodeled the town, transforming the wooden houses into prewar buildings. He also constructed a Fusion Generator in town and made its presence known to the inhabitants.

Simultaneously, his father reinvented his Dispenser, Sentry Gun, and Teleporter, adding his personal flair. Viktor presented Six with updated blueprints for each, featuring his unique anti-theft technology. To Six's astonishment, his father had completely re-engineered the Dispenser's matter-converter, enabling it to produce any creative parts and weapons, rather than just the usual ammunition and healing supplies.

Six erected walls around the town's perimeter, outfitting them with an array of defenses such as Heavy Machinegun Turrets, Heavy Laser Turrets, Missile Turrets, Spotlight Turrets, and an entrance laden with traps, including Flamethrowers and Shotgun Turrets.

What was once a simple small town had become a highly fortified city. By evening, Six had finished constructing a four-story townhouse for his family, reserving the top floor as his own penthouse.

-Four weeks later-

Six, reclining in a chair amidst a circle of children, began to embellish tales of his adventures. He exaggerated his encounters with geckos and coyotes, likening them to battles with Dragons and werewolves.

The children responded with giggles and laughter, delighting in his stories, while the older listeners enjoyed his narrative, fully aware that his tales were embellished with a fair amount of Brahmin shit.

"Six, thank you for everything you've done for the town. Your family's presence has increased our population and brought more business."

Trudy says to Six with a smile.

"Ya better appreciate it, Trudy, because you wouldn't want to face the consequences if this old yeller found out you've been exploiting ma' family. Understand?"

Easy Pete warns, pointing his finger at Trudy.

"But you, Six, you're a good man. Many people only look out for them themselves and don't lend a hand. From the depths of this rusty old heart, I'm grateful you're my niece's son. And you were there when your family needed you most."

Easy Pete says, maintaining his composure and hiding the tear welling up in his eye.

In front of a General Merchandise store in Goodsprings, a radroach scuttles by... Moments later the store owner Chet drags Twig out the doorway.

Twig sits up, shaking himself upright, and turns to look at Chet.

"I told you! Tha-that's what he gave me!"

Twig told him.

"And I told you I ain't paying for the wrong delivery!"

Chet exclaimed.

"Aww come on, Chet! You know this isn't my fault."

Chet sighed looking at him

"You always say that."

"Well, yeah, that's because it's always true."

"You ever think maybe... you're just a terrible courier?"

"No. Wh-ar-y-how ya mean--"

Chet holds his hands up as he hears the sound of a laser rifle firing up, and Scarlett points her rifle behind his neck. Making Chet sigh again.

You know as well as I do that all he did was carry the boxes and didn't choose what was in it.

Scar reprimanded him.

"Scar, don't--"

Twig squeaked.

"You! Shh..."

But Scarlett shushed him with one finger, then spoke to Chet.

"I'd pay the kid if I were you."

Chet reluctantly takes his wallet out of his pocket and tosses it to Twig, he shakes the wallet and hears a handful of caps inside.

"There. Ya, happy?"

"Very."

Scarlett replied.

"Now get outta here. And you can forget about any more business with me, or this town!"

As Chet spoke Ben left the store with three Sunset Sarsaparillas and bumped into him.

"Scuse me."

"Scuse-- AUGH!"

Chet is frightened by the ghoul and runs back into the store, shutting the door.

"Don't worry, y'all are excused."

"Prick.

Scarlett gives Twig a hand as he brushes dirt off himself as Twig sighs.

"Really?"

"What?"

Scarlett question.

"He wasn't gonna pay us but I'm starving!"

"Yeah! I'm starving, too!"

"Coulda' fooled me, fatty."
