บท 3: # Chapter 3: Back Home

The following day, Luna awoke to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains of her hospital room. The events of the past few days were a blur, a swirl of emotions and memories, both old and new. She felt a deep sense of melancholy for the loss of her mother, Pandora, but also a strange sense of purpose and determination.

Xenophilius Lovegood stood by the door, his usual eccentricity tempered by the recent tragedy. "Luna, my dear, the Healers say you can come home today. Are you ready?"

Luna nodded, though the concept of "home" felt foreign now. She was both excited and anxious to return to the place that was supposed to be familiar but would now be colored by loss and the new life she was embracing.

---

The journey back to the Lovegood house was quiet, with Xenophilius driving the enchanted car, occasionally glancing at his daughter with a mix of concern and affection. As they approached the quirky and iconic Rook-shaped house that stood proudly atop a hill, Luna couldn't help but admire its uniqueness, even with the sorrow that hung over it.

The house was exactly as she remembered it from Luna's memories—a tall, cylindrical structure resembling a giant rook from a chess set. The base was wider, tapering as it rose, with turrets and battlements giving it a medieval castle-like appearance. The walls were made of smooth stone, covered with ivy, giving the house an air of ancient mystery.

But as they entered the house, Luna noticed subtle changes that set it apart from the simple, whimsical home described in the books. The interior was far more spacious than its exterior suggested, clearly the result of extensive space-expansion charms. The ground floor, which should have been a single circular room, opened into a large, airy space that served as a cozy living area. The room was filled with mismatched, comfortable furniture, and the walls were adorned with various artifacts, strange objects, and tapestries depicting magical creatures.

The kitchen, attached to the living area, was equally charming, with wooden cabinets, a large stone hearth, and a table cluttered with magazines, books, and half-finished projects. The smell of herbs and spices lingered in the air, remnants of Pandora's last experiments in potion-making.

As Luna ascended the spiral staircase that wound up through the center of the house, she marveled at the additional rooms that had been magically expanded. The second floor housed multiple bedrooms, each uniquely decorated, reflecting the Lovegoods' eccentric tastes. Luna's own room was quaint, with walls painted in soft pastel colors and decorated with hand-drawn pictures of magical creatures. But it was the other rooms on this floor that drew her attention.

At the far end of the hallway, past her father's room, was the entrance to a large library. Luna's breath caught as she entered. The library was magnificent, far grander than anything she'd seen in the books. Tall shelves filled with dusty tomes and scrolls lined the walls, stretching up to the high ceiling. There were large windows that allowed natural light to pour in, illuminating the room in a warm glow. The scent of old parchment and ink was comforting, and Luna felt a deep connection to this place.

Adjacent to the library was a door that led to a room Luna instantly recognized from her inherited memories. It was her mother's spell creation room. The room had an air of sacredness, with a large worktable in the center cluttered with vials, potions, and various magical instruments. Shelves around the room were filled with Pandora's notes, half-finished spells, and strange artifacts collected from her travels.

Next to the spell creation room was Pandora's private bedroom. This room had also been magically expanded and was now neat and clean, unlike the state Luna had found it in her memories. The bed was large and covered with a soft, cream-colored quilt, and the walls were adorned with portraits of the family, capturing moments of joy and laughter. A large window offered a stunning view of the rolling hills beyond, creating a serene atmosphere.

Luna walked slowly through the rooms, her heart heavy yet filled with a quiet determination. This was her mother's domain, the place where Pandora had spent so much of her time, creating and experimenting, pushing the boundaries of magical knowledge. Luna felt a deep longing to connect with her mother, to understand the legacy she had left behind.

As she stood in the library, running her fingers along the spines of the books, Xenophilius entered, carrying a tray with tea and biscuits. He paused in the doorway, watching his daughter with a mix of sadness and pride.

"She loved this place," Xenophilius said softly, setting the tray down on a nearby table. "Your mother spent countless hours here, lost in her work. I think she would have liked you to have this space."

Luna turned to her father, her eyes reflecting the complex emotions she felt. "Daddy… would it be alright if I moved into the room next to the library? I want to feel close to Mum, to her work. It would help me… to remember her and to learn."

Xenophilius looked at her with understanding. "Of course, Luna. You can have any room you want. Your mother would be happy to know that you're continuing her work."

Luna smiled, though it was tinged with sadness. "Thank you, Daddy. I think it's important… for what's coming."

Xenophilius tilted his head slightly, a curious expression on his face. "What do you mean, my dear?"

Luna hesitated, her mind racing with the knowledge she now held, the dangers that lay ahead in the years to come. "I just want to be prepared, Daddy. To protect you and our home. I think… I think Mum would want that."

Xenophilius studied her for a moment, then nodded. "Your mother was always preparing, always thinking ahead. You're very much like her, Luna."

Luna felt a warmth in her chest at his words, and she knew that this was the right decision. She needed to be close to her mother's work, to absorb as much knowledge as possible. It wasn't just about protecting her family—it was about surviving and thriving in the magical world she now inhabited.

That night, Luna moved into Pandora's private bedroom, the room adjacent to the library and spell creation room. As she unpacked her few belongings, she felt a deep sense of peace settling over her. This was where she belonged now, surrounded by the echoes of her mother's brilliance and creativity.

She looked out the window at the darkening sky, the first stars beginning to twinkle. Luna Lovegood was ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead, armed with the knowledge and determination that had been passed down to her. And as she lay down in her mother's bed, she felt a connection to Pandora that gave her strength.

Luna closed her eyes, ready to face the future, with the past guiding her every step.
