บท 169: FUCKED

When John delivered the news that Maurice was Gregory's son, I stood frozen, shock lacing my whole body. "What? Are you serious?" I finally managed to stammer, the weight of the revelation crashing down on me. I could not fathom how we had been so deceived.

"How did you find this out?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper as if raising it could shatter the fragile reality we were facing.

John ran a hand through his hair, his eyes filled with urgency. "I've been digging into everything about Gregory's son for weeks now," he replied, his tone grave. "The traces led me straight to Maurice. So, I hacked into the system."

I narrowed my eyes, my mind racing. "You hacked the system? That is risky, John."

"I know, but it was necessary," he continued, undeterred. "What I found shocked me. Maurice is indeed Gregory's son. His mother passed away before Gregory married Laurene."

I leaned against the wall, my heart pounding. "And Bernard? What about him?"
