Itachi Uchiha's vision blurred as he staggered backward. His final battle with Sasuke had taken everything from him. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, and his body screamed in agony. The sky was dark, thunderous clouds swirling ominously above the two brothers.
Sasuke, panting heavily, stood opposite Itachi, his Sharingan blazing with determination and rage. The air crackled with the residual energy of their jutsus, the ground around them scorched and torn apart.
"Is this... really what you wanted, Itachi?" Sasuke shouted, his voice hoarse from exhaustion.
Itachi, breathing heavily, managed a faint smile. "Sasuke... you've become strong. This is... it."
With the last of his strength, Itachi walked towards his brother. Sasuke flinched, readying himself for another attack, but Itachi merely extended a trembling hand. He reached out and tapped Sasuke's forehead gently, just as he had done when they were children.
"Forgive me, Sasuke. This is... the end," Itachi whispered, his voice barely audible.
As his sight dimmed, Itachi collapsed, the world around him fading to black. He believed he had met his end, but his journey was far from over.
Sasuke knelt beside his fallen brother, his expression a mixture of grief and confusion. The weight of their shared history bore down on him as he looked upon Itachi's still form. The echoes of their clashes, their conversations, and the unspoken truths reverberated in his mind.
"You were always... protecting me," Sasuke muttered, his voice choked with emotion. "Why, Itachi? Why did it have to end like this?"
But there were no answers now, only the solemn silence of the battlefield. The storm above them began to dissipate, leaving behind a somber calmness that contrasted sharply with the violence that had just transpired.
Drifting in the void, Itachi felt weightless, his consciousness floating in a sea of darkness. Time seemed to stretch into eternity, and he pondered his fate. Was this death? Was he destined to wander this black void forever?
Just as despair began to grip his heart, a piercing light broke through the darkness. Itachi squinted, shielding his eyes from the sudden brightness. Gradually, the light grew, enveloping him completely.
In the dead of night, a man dressed in black clothes and yellow-framed glasses roamed the city rooftops, silently patrolling. His keen senses picked up a loud crash, prompting him to swiftly move toward the source of the sound. As he approached, he saw a man with black hair lying unconscious on the ground, dressed in distinctive clothes adorned with red clouds.
Quickly assessing the situation, he checked the man's pulse and found it steady. "He's still alive," he murmured, relieved. Without wasting another moment, he dialed emergency medical services, reporting the incident. Moments later, he carefully lifted the unconscious man, carrying him to the nearest hospital to ensure he received the medical attention he needed.
Itachi, still unconscious, slowly opened his eyes, finding himself in a room that unmistakably looked like a hospital. He began to think, "Am I still alive?" He examined his hands and feet, noticing they were covered in bandages. Looking straight ahead, he saw a mirror and stared at his reflection, noting that nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Turning his gaze to the window, he was shocked to see numerous tall buildings. "This is not Konoha," he muttered. "It doesn't feel like I'm in the Land of Fire, the Mist, or anywhere familiar. This feels foreign." His eyes widened as he activated his Sharingan, confirming he could still use it. He then activated his Mangekyo Sharingan and was surprised to discover he now had the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. "How can this be? How can I have these eyes?" he wondered.
As he was about to question himself further, the door opened. An old lady accompanied by a man in black clothes and yellow-framed glasses entered the room. Itachi looked at them and asked, "Who are you?"
The old lady smiled and said, "Hello, young man. I am Chiyo Shuzenji, also known as Recovery Girl." She pointed to the man beside her. "This is Shota Aizawa, known by his hero name Eraserhead. He was the one who brought you here."
Itachi observed both of them keenly, and Aizawa thought, "He's scrutinizing us."
"Thank you for bringing me here," Itachi said.
"No problem," Aizawa replied.
"I have some questions," Itachi continued.
"What is it?" Aizawa asked.
"Where am I? Which part of the world am I in? And who are you people? Why is he calling himself a hero?" Itachi inquired.
Chiyo widened her eyes and responded, "You don't know where you are?"
Chiyo's expression shifted to one of concern. "Have you lost your memory or something?" she asked in a worried tone.
Itachi thought to himself, "If I pretend to have amnesia, I might gather some useful information." He then replied, "I'm sorry, but what are you saying?"
Aizawa glanced at Chiyo and said, "I'll handle it." She nodded and looked at Itachi. "If you need anything, just let me know, okay? I'm here to help you."
Itachi gave a slight smile. "Thank you, Shuzenji-san."
She smiled back and left the room. Aizawa pulled a chair and sat down in front of Itachi. "So, you really don't remember anything?" he asked.
Itachi nodded. "Yes, I forgot."
Aizawa leaned back slightly. "Who are you?"
Itachi thought for a moment. "I know this isn't my world, so I can use my real name," he reasoned. He sighed and said, "I'm Itachi Uchiha. I think that's my name"
Aizawa looked at him intently. "How did you end up in that alleyway?"
"I don't know," Itachi replied. "I don't remember."
Aizawa nodded. "Okay." He then took out his mobile phone, and Itachi's eyes narrowed slightly, readying his Sharingan. Aizawa dialed a number and put the phone to his ear. "Hello, Tsukauchi? I've shared my location. Can you come here? ... Okay." He hung up the call and put the phone back in his pocket.
Itachi observed the device and thought, "This device is for communication. It's very effective. This place is very modern." Aizawa noticed Itachi's interest.
"Are you looking at my phone?" Aizawa asked.
Itachi nodded. "Yes."
Aizawa handed his phone to Itachi. "Do you want to dial someone?" he asked.
Itachi looked at the phone and shook his head. "No, I don't know how to use it."
Aizawa raised an eyebrow. "You don't know how to use this?"
Itachi nodded in confirmation. Just then, the door opened, and a man walked in. He was tall with short black hair, somewhat rectangular black eyes, and wore a tan overcoat with a matching hat. Underneath, he had on a black suit, a green tie, matching slacks, and dress shoes. Itachi thought to himself, "People in this world wear some strange outfits."
Aizawa greeted the newcomer. "Tsukauchi, come here. I want to talk about this person. His name is Itachi Uchiha, and he has lost his memory."
Tsukauchi looked at Itachi and introduced himself. "Hello, Mr. Uchiha. I am Naomasa Tsukauchi, a detective."
Itachi nodded. "It's nice to meet you."
Tsukauchi turned to Aizawa. "So, he's the person?"
Aizawa nodded. Tsukauchi then took out his phone and made a call. "Hello, I need you to search for a person named Itachi Uchiha." After a moment of waiting, he hung up and turned back to the bed.
"There's no record of anyone named Itachi Uchiha," Tsukauchi said, looking at Itachi.
Itachi remained composed, considering his next move. "That confirms it," he thought. "This world is completely foreign."
Aizawa's expression turned serious. "Now, tell me the truth. What is your name?"
Itachi met his gaze calmly. "Like I said, my name is Itachi Uchiha, and I don't know how I got here."
Aizawa glanced at Tsukauchi, who nodded in acknowledgment. Itachi observed their exchange and thought, "It seems like he has a way to determine if I'm telling the truth."
Aizawa continued, "Okay then, since you have lost your memory, what do you want to do now?"
Itachi looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Tsukauchi clarified, "Do you want to be a hero or a villain?"
"Hero or villain?" Itachi echoed, confused by the terminology.
Aizawa explained, "First of all, tell me, what is your quirk?"
"Quirk?" Itachi thought for a moment, piecing together the context. Aizawa sighed and clarified, "It means, what is your superpower?"
Itachi considered his options and decided it was best not to reveal too much. "My quirk is illusion," he stated.
Aizawa nodded, accepting the answer for now. "What is your age?"
"I think I'm 24," Itachi replied.
Aizawa noted, "You're an adult, so you're not eligible for high school." He paused, then added, "Given your situation, we need to determine the best course of action for you."
Itachi then spoke, "Mr. Aizawa, can I ask you a question?"
Aizawa nodded, and Itachi continued, "You consider yourself a hero who helps people, but how do you define a villain?"
Aizawa understood what Itachi was getting at and explained, "A villain is someone who harms people, kills, harasses women, and robs others. Those are villains."
Itachi pondered this. "What if someone is forced to do those things?"
Tsukauchi chimed in, understanding Itachi's concern. "We try to reach out to help them. That's why we have villain rehabilitation programs where they get a chance to do hero work."
Itachi nodded in understanding. "How does one start hero work?"
Aizawa answered, "First, you have to get a hero license. Only then can you perform hero work."
Itachi raised an eyebrow. "So only those with a license can do hero work?"
Aizawa nodded. "Yes."
Itachi followed up, "What if I don't have a license but still do hero work?"
Tsukauchi replied, "It's against the law. People who do that are known as vigilantes, and they can be arrested."
Itachi then asked, "Isn't that a disadvantage?"
Tsukauchi looked at him, intrigued. "What do you mean?"
Itachi elaborated, "If someone is in trouble and another person without a license has a quirk that can help, but the heroes are far away, or if they help and get arrested for it, isn't that just for helping?"
Tsukauchi opened his mouth to respond but couldn't find the right words. Aizawa stepped in, "Look, kid, you're intelligent, but think about this: more than 80% of the population has quirks. Imagine if everyone used their quirks without regulation. Some quirks are destructive and could harm people."
Itachi nodded, seeing the logic. Aizawa continued, "That's why we have hero schools. They provide proper training for students to learn how to use their quirks responsibly."
Itachi nodded in understanding. For the first time, Aizawa smiled. "I like you, kid. You have brains and intelligence. I recommend you to become a hero, take the test for the hero license, and make a difference."
Itachi, taking this all in, thought about the new path before him. "Thank you, Aizawa-san. I'll consider it."
Aizawa said, "You don't have to worry. I am a staff member at UA High School."
Itachi nodded.
Aizawa continued, "There is a principal who can help you get your hero license."
Itachi nodded again and said, "Aizawa-san, before that, I want to go to the library first."
Aizawa replied, "There is a library at UA High. You can go there and understand more."
Itachi nodded in agreement. Aizawa then turned to Tsukauchi. "What will we do about his identity?"
Tsukauchi reassured him, "Don't worry about it. I will add someone to the records. That's all I'll do. Don't worry."
Aizawa nodded and then asked Itachi, "So, kid, are you able to walk?"
Itachi nodded and stood up. Aizawa said, "Get changed, and we'll leave."
Itachi nodded, went to the bathroom, and after changing back into his Akatsuki clothes, he came out. Aizawa looked at him and said, "Okay."
Tsukauchi added, "I will drop you guys off."
They all left the hospital together, heading towards UA High School where Itachi's journey in this new world would begin.
