Time during the war flew by quickly.
Five months passed in the blink of an eye.
In just five months, the world of Resident Evil underwent an earth-shattering transformation.
On November 15th, Jill led her forces to reclaim the entire state of Colorado, clearing out nearly all the zombies within its borders.
On November 30th, Jill's forces successfully reclaimed four states to the south of Colorado, including Texas. The number of newly strengthened humans within their territory had grown to the millions.
On December 25th, aside from the few states still under the control of the old government, all of the US's remaining territory had fallen under Jill's command. The number of enhanced humans reached the tens of millions.
On December 26th, after spending their last Christmas, the old government surrendered to the Colorado Republic, unifying all of the US's territory.
January 1, 1999:
The Republic of Xavier, also known as the Survivor Republic, was officially established, transitioning to a republic with Raccoon City as its capital. Lyon was honored as the founding father and became the first president.
January 2:
Lyon submitted his resignation to the council, and Jill Valentine was inaugurated as the second president.
January 31:
All of North America was brought under the control of the Republic of Xavier.
All remnants of the Umbrella Corporation, along with unofficial organizations like HCF and the Families, were eradicated by the new human warriors.
Among them, Umbrella's leader, Wesker, was punched into a wall by Jill, so hard that he couldn't be pried out.
February 26:
Almost all remaining zombie areas globally were cleared.
The number of enhanced humans surpassed 300 million. Lyon spearheaded the formation of an international united organization, gathering the world's remaining powers.
From then on, the continent was governed by the Republic of Xavier, while Asia, Australia, and Africa were under the control of China and India, which still had a population of nearly a billion survivors.
The remaining few million people from nations like Russia and France were assigned to jointly govern Europe.
The future International United Organization would be responsible for mediating conflicts between the three major powers and, when necessary, promoting the integration of world nations.
Lyon was appointed as the Chair of the United Organization. The Vice Chairs were Jill and Mr. Fang Yuan from China.
Thus, the months-long global apocalypse came to an end.
This day was later designated as the new International Christmas, a celebration of the birth of the New World and New Humanity, as well as the arrival of the "God of Humanity" who saved the world and united it as one.
March 30:
The joint new human forces dispatched by the International United Organization successfully cleared all remaining infected zones on the planet.
Even the secret underwater bases established by Umbrella, along with their base in Antarctica, were breached, and the zombies inside were dragged out and destroyed along with the bases.
On this day, Earth once again returned to its former blue.
And on the following day...
Lyon finally received the promised reward from the World Consciousness.
Suspended between the Earth and the Sun, golden sunlight bathed his face, and every cell in his body hummed contentedly.
After basking in the sun for five months, Lyon's single-arm strength had grown to over 1.7 million tons, approaching its limit.
Now, the growth of his strength from sunlight exposure had slowed considerably.
At a certain moment, an invisible wave suddenly descended.
The World Consciousness connected with Lyon's brainwaves, conveying emotions of joy and gratitude. At the same time, it handed over half of its authority to him.
Lyon felt something indescribable rapidly integrating into his body.
In an instant, his perception of the world changed.
No longer did he see sunlight, air, or dew as an ordinary person would. Nor was it the microscopic world that his super vision could normally detect.
Instead, he now saw a blend of red, green, black, white, and various other colored currents and light particles swirling together.
Lyon felt his power rising infinitely at that moment, as if he had gained a lever—where a single unit of strength could now produce a hundred or even a thousand times the effect.
With just a slight movement of his finger in the void of space, the vast surface of the Pacific Ocean below stirred, raising hundred-meter-high waves!
Not only that, but he could also consume his own life force or something akin to his lifespan to alter the fate of any person in the world or even create something that never existed before.
Just like the enhancements the World Consciousness had granted him earlier, or the special abilities it had infused into Tony's body—those were all created by the World Consciousness expending its own upper limits.
No wonder it couldn't offer him much before; all those extraordinary things came at the cost of its own "flesh."
Lyon understood now.
The so-called authority was like a lever capable of moving the entire world—an ability to control the workings of a world.
As he gazed out into the universe, his previously limited super-vision, now augmented by this authority, extended infinitely.
He saw beyond the solar system and beheld the true nature of the world of Resident Evil.
Countless streams of information naturally flowed into Lyon's eyes and drilled into his brain. It was as if he was always meant to know these things and comprehend this information.
"So that's how it is. This world is just one of countless small solar systems—merely a tiny world among the grains of the cosmos."
"The core themes of this world are evolution, mutation, and survival. When these three concepts can no longer extend, the world will face destruction."
"No wonder the World Consciousness was always so fixated on pushing evolution. Everything makes sense now."
But this revelation was not the end.
Soon, the World Consciousness "rewarded" Lyon with another gift.
—Genetic Self-Lock Ability
This ability appeared as a glowing point of light, emerging from thin air, and seamlessly merged into Lyon's body, automatically becoming one of his innate skills.
Fortunately, with the S-virus final variant that evolved the global human population, it helped elevate the World Consciousness to a higher level. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been able to bestow this final gift.
This ability could be activated deliberately or set as a passive constant.
Lyon pulled out a strand of hair and, using his authority-enhanced super-vision, he observed that the DNA chain in the hair had completely reverted to its form from when he was just an ordinary 18-year-old human, with no traces of Kryptonian traits.
"This is quite a remarkable ability," Lyon said with satisfaction, communicating telepathically. "I've received my rewards, cooperation was pleasant. Remember to reach out if you need help again."
The World Consciousness, unaware of human deceit, simply felt that Lyon was genuinely a good ally. It immediately radiated emotions of joy and reassurance.
Then, it automatically withdrew, with the invisible waves receding like a tide, dispersing across every corner of the world.
"I've claimed all the benefits, fought all the battles that needed fighting, and more than completed the task of saving Tony."
Lyon floated outside the Earth, quietly gazing at the blue planet below.
"It's time to leave."
In what seemed like an instant, he appeared in Raccoon City.
At this point in the world, with the authority granted to him, Lyon's power had reached the pinnacle of the Skyfather level, making him indistinguishable from a true god.
Lyon quickly found Ada and Jill and explained his intention to leave.
Both Ada and Jill were full of reluctance to let Lyon go, but they couldn't just abandon everything in their original world right now.
Especially Jill, who was now the president, bearing the responsibility for the survival of over a billion people. Leaving at this moment was simply not an option.
"Wait for me, Lyon. When this country is at peace, I'll leave with you," Jill said with heartfelt emotion.
"I'll go with her," Ada added, arms crossed. "She won't be able to manage such a large place all on her own." Then she smirked, "But before you leave, you've got to tie up some loose ends first."
"I'm not leaving for good," Lyon reassured them. "Time flows faster here, I'll come back often to soak up the sun."
Lyon had already explained his abilities to the two women. "And about Sherry, let her come with me. None of you can properly take care of her here."
"Fine, whatever you say," Ada agreed. "But first, finish the tasks at hand," she said, grabbing him by the collar. "You owe me quite a bit in back pay!"
...
The next morning, Lyon found Tony and told him about his plan to leave.
Tony, during this period, had been as happy as ever. He was now a celebrated hero, with the name Iron Man known all across the world.
He had also made great strides in the development of his Iron Man armor.
However, Tony still kept his exact progress a secret, promising Lyon that it would blow his mind.
When he heard Lyon was leaving, though...
Tony felt a bit reluctant to leave.
He had already grown attached to the "fans" of this world.
Every time he stepped outside, seeing the adoring gazes of kids like Wade and Elliott filled him with a sense of accomplishment.
However, his longing to return home was just as strong. He missed Pepper and the comfort of his big bed back home.
"Alright then, let's go," Tony said. "Destroy the data that needs to be destroyed, and then let's say our goodbyes."
Just to prevent any future crises like the one a few months ago, Lyon used his heat vision to destroy all the experimental results and data they had worked on.
After that, the two began to bid farewell to their friends, one by one.
At the central square in Raccoon City, where statues of Lyon, Jill, and Tony stood tall, Lyon and Tony waved to the tearful crowd.
They stood on either side, holding the hands of the lively, bouncing Sherry Birkin, as they disappeared from the world of Resident Evil.
