"It's fine, Fred. I can control myself, but that doesn't matter," Draco said as he hovered aimlessly.
"Why?" Fred, unsure of where Draco was trying to lead with this, asked.
"I am a soul, Fred! A fragment of my past self. I need a suitable body or vessel worthy of my soul," Draco answered dryly as if it were common knowledge.
"Okay. You mean durable enough to contain your soul, right?" Fred asked, trying not to buy into the whole worthier-than-thou attitude.
"Yes, that can work too," Draco responded.
'It seems dragons are indeed the proudest creatures,' Fred thought but soon felt another presence closing in on their location.
"Hold on, something's closing in on us. Let's move," Fred said with urgency as they both began zipping through the cosmos.
After what felt like minutes of flying, something caught Fred's eye, but before he could act on it, he decided to don all ten rings Cynthia provided him and immediately felt heavier. But one thing he felt was a heavy presence trying to suffocate him. Fred, turning slowly, wanted to know what could make him feel this way since he just had a hunch of how powerful he was now.
"Draco? You are this powerful?" Fred asked in shock; he couldn't believe that the person he so casually named and brought along on his journey embodied an image of a sky above the skies.
"It's the rings, idiot," Draco replied dryly, wondering if maybe Fred wasn't a Hell Warden all this time.
"Oh, that explains it," Fred replied. They were still using telepathy since they came across a solar system with a large yellow star being the most prominent thing there.
"Hold on…" Fred tried not to raise his hopes as he thought of inspecting the planets, and a divine magical art appeared in his memory, a remnant of the Mage King.
Using that divine art, Fred inspected the planets and could find life on some of them. He even spotted some white and green Martians at war on Mars!
Fred was ecstatic, but he still kept his hopes at bay. He then inspected a blue marble planet, and the results amazed him!
"Yes! But no. I mean, I like it, but I would have loved to start in the Marvel universe," Fred spoke after a while inspecting around.
"So, can we start our jobs now?" Draco asked as he inched closer, his presence causing dizziness in Fred.
"Just move over there for a bit, I am still getting used to this," Fred waved Draco away, who complied without stress.
"You should practice removing and wearing the rings daily to get a handle on your powers; you can't expect to use training wheels all your life now, can you?" Draco said matter-of-factly.
"Okay, let's go," Fred issued a fresh order but found Draco shaking his head.
"What?"
"I can't. I am a soul. I will have to be summoned there. I am guessing you at least know how to do that when we arrive on any planet of your choosing here. But how will I get a body here? Nothing feels special down there," Draco expressed his point as he pointed to the glowing solar system beneath them.
"Alright. In the meantime, that means you should try and subdue this world's Hell and link it. You should have fun doing that. I will be off then; call me if you need help," Fred instructed as he waved his partner off.
"Tch, as if I would need any help with that," Draco muttered to himself, then closed his eyes and opened them again, revealing a different eye colour—purple. Draco scanned the astral plane until he found a path to Hell and began a forceful entry until he wasn't seen again.
Draco's action obviously didn't go unnoticed by the higher entities in the universe as a figure warped into deep space three minutes after Draco and Fred couldn't be found in the initial spot.
"It seems I was late," a giant figure with pale white skin, a green hood connected to an extended cape, green shorts, and boots inspected the area and decided to check the astral plane.
Meanwhile, Fred was tinkering with the gift the Mage King gave him, his arsenal of divine magic. There were only twenty, but Fred saw them as unlimited since there was a lot he could do with those spells. Before descending on Earth, Fred tried creating his dimension with divine magic and did so successfully but also created something similar to the House of Mysteries in the process.
"Divine core assimilation increased by 0.05%," Fred's system alerted, but this time out loud.
"You have reached a new level! Because of your unfair strength and power in this low-level world…" Fred's system continued.
"Oh, no. Please don't," Fred desperately begged in his mind but was already bringing himself to accept what followed.
"Anytime there is a combat of significant level and you are about to engage in it, if you are not immediately there, you would be transported via teleportation and your presence announced three seconds before you arrive. If you wish to arm yourself with the crucible for whatever reason, it will also be announced for all to hear. I will do my best to assist you from now on as I will be more active. A name would be most appreciated, Slayer," Fred's system finished, which left a stunned look on Fred's face. He smiled a bit but lost it soon afterwards.
"I was planning on sneak attacking some people and watching some battles before I joined in. Why? Why do this to me?" Fred asked as he settled on a sofa in a mansion created in his separate dimension.
The system fell silent for a long as Fred began divining food items, another skill acquired from the Mage King.
"Sir, there is a crisis going on in Themyscira right now, and you might want to see it."
Fred, at that request, also divined large screens and consoles for his system to connect to and calibrate as images and videos of an invaded Themyscira were shown.
"Ah, I thought she had already joined the Justice League by now!" Fred said as he jolted off his sofa.
"Shall I prepare a portal, Slayer?"
"… You and I are going to have a talk when I get back," Fred remarked as he prepared himself.
