Chapter 56: The Electrical Power Plant Shelter

(After reaching the mainland.)

(Mew and her friends continue to make their way to Viridian City.)

(so Mew can compete for her eight and final badge.)

(Right now, Mew decides to have some training for her Gym Battle.)

(Brock is busy making some lunch.)

(while Misty watches Tomo play with Meloetta and the younger Pokemon: Cleffa, Dratini, Igglybuff, Mudkip, Togepi, Shuckle, Larvesta, Snom.)

(Tomo and the Pokemon are having a lot of fun.)

(In the open field close by, Mew is doing some training with her Pokemon: Pikachu, Eevee, Shaymin, Ivysaur, Wartortle, Roserade, Pidgeotto, Primeape, Skitty, Silcoon, Flabébé, Kakuna, Sandshrew, Magnemite, Haunter and Tyrogue.)

(Some of the little ones: Galarian Ponyta, Teddiursa and Axew want to train too.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Okay Shaymin, use Magical Leaf. Haunter, use Shadow Ball!"

(Shaymin then performs Magical Leaf and Haunter performs Shadow Ball at each other.)

(Both attacks collide with one another.)

Mew: "Okay Primeape, Tyrogue, time to practice your fighting skills."

(Mew says.)

(Primeape and Tyrouge begin to practice their fighting moves against each other.)

Mew: "Okay Roserade time to use your Petal Dance!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Roserade then performs the attack.)

Mew: "Now Skitty, use Swift! And Flabébé, use Fairy Wind"

(Mew calls out.)

(With that, Skitty performs Swift at the Petal Dance, but has been counter.)

(Then Flabébé performs Fairy Wind and is able to counter Petal Dance.)

Mew: "Skitty, dodge!"

(Mew calls out, and Skitty dodges the attack.)

(Mew turns to Primeape as Teddiursa runs over.)

Mew: "Okay Primeape, Teddiursa is going to battle now."

(Primeape nods his head and faces the little bear.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Teddiursa use, Headbutt!"

(Teddiursa charges to perform the attack.)

Mew: "Okay Primeape, block the attack!"

(Mew calls out.)

(And Primeape blocks the attack as Teddiursa strikes.)

(Misty and Brock turn to see Mew and her Pokemon training.)

Misty: "Mew sure is fired up,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "Yeah. Mew just needs one more badge so she can compete in the Pokemon League, so she and her Pokemon are training hard,"

(Brock says as he finishes making the sandwiches.)

(Then says.)

Brock: "And even hard working trainers need to have a lunch break."

Misty: "That's true,"

(Misty says.)

(Then Brock calls out.)

Brock: "Alright everyone, lunch is ready!"

(Mew, Tomo, and all the Pokemon hear Brock calling them.)

(Mew turns to her Pokemon.)

Mew: "Okay everyone, it's time for a lunch break."

(Tomo, and the Pokemon answer with yes and cries with glee.)

(Soon enough, everyone is having sandwiches or Pokemon food with some berries and drinks.)

Mew: "These sandwiches are great,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "Yeah. They're the best,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "Glad you like it, and there's plenty,"

(Brock says.)

Tomo: "I'll have seconds,"

(Tomo happily says.)

(Mew giggles with a smile.)

(Then turns to the Pokemon.)

Mew: "How's the food taste?"

Pikachu: "Pika Pika," (The food is delicious.)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee, (And the food is really yummy.)

(Eevee adds with a smile.)

Brock: "After finishing eating, we should go to Viridian City,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Sounds good,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew and the others continue to have their lunch until they have their fill.)

(After having lunch, they pack their things.)

(call their Pokemon in their Pokeballs and continue to make their way to Viridian City to get to the Viridian Gym.)

(The group soon begin to walk through Viridian Tunnel which is a bit of a walk.)

(They soon walk out of the tunnel and begin to make their way to Viridian City.)

(Suddenly, dark clouds roll in, and rain begins to come down at an instant.)

(That catches Mew and her friends by surprise as they're getting rained on.)

Misty: "It's a big storm!"

(Misty panics.)

Brock: "More like huge. It's practically pouring,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "But we're almost to Viridian City. We might still be able to make it if we run for it,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "Let's hurry,"

(Brock says.)

(With that, the group begins to run in the big storm.)

(Since they're close to Viridian City, they figure running for it is the best they can do.)

(However, the wind begins to blow hard and the rain is pouring faster than before.)

(Just then, the storm blows so hard that Tomo and Meloetta end up blown off the train and into the river.)

(Mew gasps.)

Mew: "Tomo! Meloetta!"

(Just then, Pikachu, Eevee, and Mew end up being blown into the river.)

(followed by Brock, Misty, and Togepi.)

(Everyone is able to rise to the surface of the river, but are being pulled away by the fast current.)

Misty: "The current is pulling us too fast!"

(Misty panics.)

Tomo: "It's hard to swim!"

(Tomo adds, frightened.)

(Mew then brought out her Pokeball.)

Mew: "I got an idea… Ditto!"

(Ditto is released from the raft and lands on Mew's head.)

Mew: "Ditto, turn into a raft, please hurry!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Ditto sees the trouble and acts fast.)

(Ditto then turns into a raft fast.)

(Mew quickly climbs in.)

(She then quickly picks up Pikachu and Eevee along with Tomo and Meloetta.)

(Mew reaches her hands out to her friends.)

Mew: "Brock! Misty! Take my hand!"

(Brock and Misty quickly grab Mew's hand, and the young girl pulls them into the raft.)

Misty: "Thanks Mew,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "That was quick thinking,"

(Brock says.)

Togepi: "Togepi," (Chilly.)

(Togepi says, and lets out a sneeze. Then shivers.)

(Misty looks worried.)

Misty: "Poor Togepi."

Mew: "I wonder where we're going,"

(Mew replies, looking ahead of the river.)

Misty: "I don't know, but the water is very cold, and the rain isn't making it better for us,"

(Misty says.)

(The group waits patiently as they drift down the river.)

(Soon enough, the rift stops at the shore and the group walk off of the raft.)

(The raft changes back to the shiny blue ditto.)

(Mew picks up Ditto who is tired.)

Mew: "Thank you Ditto. You get a good rest."

(Then puts Ditto back in its Pokeball.)

(Misty looks around.)

Misty: "I wonder where we are. Probably far from Viridian City."

Mew: "Maybe, but we need to find a shelter,"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "You mean there?!"

(Tomo calls out.)

(The group turns to see Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta, and Tomo ahead of them and hurry over.)

(Soon, the group looks ahead to see a large building.)

(It has stone walls with a large round and rectangle shaped roof.)

(The roof also is yellow and light green, and there are large electrical wires coming from the sides of the wall.)

Misty: "What is that place?"

(Misty asks, weary.)

(Even Togepi is scared.)

Togepi: "Togeprrrriiiii!" (It's scary!)

Brock: "I think this is the old Power Plant,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Power Plant?"

(Mew says, confused.)

Tomo: "What's a Power Plant?"

(Tomo asks.)

Brock: "It's a building where electricity is generated for distribution. They're used to power up machines, buildings, and other places in the city. I heard this one was shut down and abandoned when a new one was built,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "It doesn't look like the doors are boarded in, so we can use it for shelter,"

(Mew says.)

(Misty is shocked.)

Misty: "What?! You want us to stay there?!"

Brock: "We might not have a choice. From the looks of this storm, it might go one for a while,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "It will be best to stay here until the storm clears,"

(Mew says.)

(Misty sighs.)

Misty: "You're right."

Tomo: "Let's go,"

(Tomo says, and sneezes.)

Misty: "We better hurry inside before we all get colds,"

(Misty says.)

(With that, the group hurries inside to get away from the rain.)

(Brock is able to open the door easily and the group hurry inside.)

(Brock runs inside and closes the door when everyone else is inside.)

(When they hurry in the building, the place looks very dark and dirty.)

Tomo: "It's really dark in here,"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "I can't see a thing,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew then brings out her Pokeball.)

Mew: "I know just the thing. Magnemite."

(Mew then releases Magnemite from its Pokeball.)

Mew: "Magnemite, use Flash,"

(Mew calls out.)

(Magnemite then uses Flash and allows everyone to see.)

Brock: "Great idea Mew. Let's get things settled in for the night,"

(Brock says.)

(Mew and the others begin to set things.)

(They unroll their sleeping bags, grab a few flashlights and a lantern to light up the room.)

(and another few essentials to make their night in the building comfortable.)

(Since there is more light, Mew returns Magnemite to its Pokeball.)

(and everyone is sitting on their sleeping bags as they try themselves off.)

Mew: "That was too close,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "Yeah. Togepi is very soaked,"

(Misty says, and dries her little Pokemon with a towel.)

(Tomo dries off his hair as he sees Meloetta doing the same.)

Tomo: "You okay there, Meloetta?"

(Tomo asks.)

(Meloetta nods her head.)

Meloetta: "Mel Mel," (I'm okay.)

(They soon hear thunder crashing and the rain pouring outside and look to see the rain is really coming down.)

Misty: "It doesn't look like the storm will be clearing soon,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "It will be best to stay here. It's going to be a long night,"

(Mew says.)

(Agreeing to the idea, the group decided to have some rest until the rain stopped.)

(Unknown to them, something or someone has been spying on them and watching from the darkness.)

(Sometime later, the rain continues to pour outside and it doesn't look like it's going to clear anytime soon.)

(Still in the abandoned Power Plant, Mew and the others are taking a nap for a while.)

(Well, everyone except Misty.)

(She feels so uneasy about being in the building that she can't seem to get to sleep.)

Misty: "This place is very creepy. I… I don't think staying here is a good idea,"

(Misty nervously says.)

(Suddenly, Misty hears a strange sound that makes her spooked.)

Misty: "Wh-what's that?!"

(She then sits up and begins to look around to hear the strange noise.)

(Even if she's frightened, Misty wonders if she imagines it.)

(Suddenly, she hears the sound again, freaking her out.)

(Misty then turns to Mew and shakes her on the shoulder.)

Misty: "Mew, wake up. I think we're not alone here."

Mew: "Five more minutes,"

(Mew mutters in her sleep.)

(Misty then hears the sound again and panics loud.)

Misty: "Wake up! Now!"

(Soon, Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, Brock, Tomo, and Meloetta wake up.)

(Even Togepi wakes up to see his mommy is awake.)

Mew: "Misty, what's wrong?"

(Mew asks.)

(Tomo then yawns and says.)

Tomo: "I'm still a little tired."

Misty: "I hear something,"

(Misty nervously says.)

Brock: "Hear what?"

(Brock asks.)

Misty: "I… I don't think we're alone in this place…"

(Misty nervously says that her mouth quivers.)

(Just then, they hear a banging sound, causing everyone to jump in fright.)

Brock: "What in the world was that?"

(Brock asks.)

Mew: "I'm guessing there really is someone else here,"

(Mew replies.)

(Frightened, Misty says.)

Misty: "I told you!"

Tomo: "But what's making that sound?"

(Tomo asks.)

Mew: "I think we should find out,"

(Mew replies.)

(After not being able to get some sleep and after hearing the strange noise.)

(Mew and her friends decide to look around.)

(the old building to see what's making the strange noise.)

(Mew and Brock each hold out their flashlights.)

(and Mew also calls out Magnemite to use Flash to help get some light in the hall.)

(The hall looks very old, like it hasn't been used in years.)

(There are some leftover wires, old machines, and a few doors.)

(Misty gulps nervously and says.)

Misty: "This place looks very creepy."

Mew: "You're right. This place looks very old and rundown. It looks like a place for Ghost Pokemon to live,"

(Mew says.)

(Misty shivers at the thought.)

Misty [in mind ]: "I really hope we don't run into any of them here."

Brock: "We might, but maybe the place isn't as abandoned as we thought it was,"

(Brock says.)

(Just then, they hear a loud and strange crashing sound.)

Tomo: "What was that?!"

(Tomo exclaims in surprise.)

Mew: "It's coming from down the hall,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew and the others rush down the hall and turn to the corner.)

(They soon stop in their tracks to find a group of Electric Pokemon: A four Voltorb and three Electrodes, two Electabuzz, two Raichus, three young Pikachus, and an oddly colored geodude.)

(The Geodude has a more silvery appearance, with black eyebrows and strands of short black hair.)

(It's fingers are fused together like gloves, excluding the thumb and index finger.)

Tomo: "Wow. Look at all the Pokemon,"

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "And they're electric type Pokemon,"

(Mew says.)

(Brock then notices.)

Brock: "And that Geodude looks a lot different than my Geodude."

(Mew then brings out her Pokedex.)

Mew: "Let's see what Dexter says."

(Mew then presents the Pokedex to the Geodude and Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Geodude, the Rock Pokemon. A Rock and Electric Type. Geodude compete against each other with headbutts. The iron sand on their heads will stick to whichever one has stronger magnetism."

Misty: "A Rock and Electric type? That's weird,"

(Misty replies.)

Mew: "Maybe it's like how my Ponyta is. Remember, the Ponyta I got was a Galarian Version,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "I think she's right. Pokemon can have different appearances depending on which region it lives in,"

(Brock says.)

Tomo: "But where does Geodude live?"

(Tomo asks.)

Mew: "Let's see,"

(Mew says.)

(Dexter continues.)

Dexter: "This Geodude is an Alolan Form from the Alola Region. Even among the same species of Pokémon, there can still be minor differences, depending on the region where they live or are raised. These differences are called regional forms."

Misty: "Alola huh. It's like your Ponyta that is a Galarian Form,"

(Misty replies.)

Tomo: "Yeah, but it's kind of cool to see it have eyebrows,"

(Tomo says.)

(Confused, Brock wonders.)

Brock: "Those are eyebrows?"

Misty: "I wonder what they're doing here?"

(Misty replies, curious.)

(Mew looks forward and notices some of the debris of the old building has fallen and all the Pokemon have gathered.)

Mew: "I don't know, something must have happened,"

(Mew says.)

(Misty looks up to see the hole on the ceiling.)

Misty: "It looks like the roof of the Power Plant must have fallen off the roof and crashed to the ground."

Mew: "I'm going to see what's going on,"

(Mew says, and steps forward.)

(Mew then walks down the hall to talk to the Electric Pokemon.)

(but Misty grows concerned.)

(Tomo and Brock feel the same.)

(As Mew walks towards the electric Pokemon.)

(one of the Raichus turns its head and grows weary to see Mew coming forward.)

(The other Electric Pokemon become alerted and look to see Mew.)

(Many of them step forward and let out some electric sparks to scare Mew off.)

(Mew calmly says.)

Mew: "It's okay. I'm not here to cause any trouble, I like to know what's going on. You all seem worried about something."

(The larger Electabuzz steps forward and asks.)

Electabuzz: "Elect Elect Electabuzz?" (What are you humans doing here?)

Mew: "Well, my friends and I got washed down the river and we decided to stay here for shelter from the rain. We didn't know anyone else was living here,"

(Mew says.)

Electabuzz: "Elect Electabuzz Elect Electa. Electa Electabuzz," (I see, the storm is awful outside. I suppose it is understandable.)

(Electabuzz says.)

(Mew then asks.)

Mew: "I'm glad you think so. My friends and I heard a loud noise and we can guess it was you guys and the roof collapsed. Was there something wrong here? Do you need anything?"

Electabuzz: "Electabuzz," (Come here.)

(Electabuzz says.)

(Mew then walks with Electabuzz to the collapsed debris.)

(Suddenly she hears a loud.)

Pikachu: "Pika! Pika Pi!" (Help! Someone help!)

(Mew becomes alert to hear the cry, and leans towards the debris.)

(Then the cry comes out again.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pika!" (Please help!)

Mew: "I see, one of your friends got stuck on the other side of the debris,"

(Mew replies.)

(The Electric Pokemon nod their heads in reply.)

Mew: "Don't worry, my friends and I can help you,"

(Mew says.)

(She turns to where her friends are and calls out.)

Mew:: "Hey guys, there's no need to worry! These Pokemon need help!"

(The others then hurry to where Mew and the others are to see the trouble.)

Misty: "What happened?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "One of their Pikachu friends

is trapped on the other side of the fallen debris. We need to get it out of there,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "That's terrible,"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "We gotta help it,"

(Tomo replies.)

(Brock then brings out one of his Pokeballs.)

Brock: "Maybe our Pokémon can help us."

Mew: "I was thinking the same thing,"

(Mew says and brings out two Pokeball.)

(Brock calls out.)

Brock: "Geodude, I choose you!"

Mew: "Sandshrew! Diglett! Come on out!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Soon both of them throw their pokeballs and their Pokémon appear.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "We need you to dig through the debris, there's a Pikachu who's on the other side. It could hurt."

(The Pokémon nod their heads in reply and begin to dig through the debris.)

(The Alolan Geodude begins to help them out.)

(Mew turns to her friends.)

Mew: "Come on, we need to help."

(Everyone nods their heads in agreement.)

(Soon, Mew and the others, including the Wild Pokémon begin to help them out.)

(They either dig or move the less heavier piece of roof, stone, or debris out of the way.)

(Pikachu and Eevee push the debris, even little Togepi and Meloetta are helping.)

(Everyone continues to move the debris one by one.)

(Until they're able to create a path to the other side.)

Brock: "We're through,"

(Brock says.)

(Brock soon turns his head to see the Pikachu that has been trapped and notices a large rock is on top of its tail.)

(The Pikachu tries to pull its way out, or push the large rock, but it won't move and it's tail is trapped.)

(Brock turns to the others.)

Brock: "Guys, I found it. It's tail is caught under a large rock."

(Brock climbs out of the hole with the two Geodudes.)

(Mew, Eevee, Pikachu, and the others follow them out.)

Misty: "The poor thing. It must have gotten stuck when the roof collapsed,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew looks at the rock.)

Mew: "The rock seems big, but I think we can move it if we work together."

(Misty, Tomo, and Brock join Mew and pick up the rock the best that they can.)

(Soon enough, they're able to lift the rock off the Pikachu's tail and it's free.)

(Once the rock is off of Pikachu's tail and seeing that it's tail is free.)

(the Pikachu is able to hurry to the others with glee and the other Pokemon are glad to see the Pikachu is safe.)

Brock: "Now we've gotten that taken care of, I think we should patch up the roof. The rain is still pouring outside,"

(Brock says.)

Misty: "You're right. The rain would flood in here,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew then kneels to the Pikachu.)

Mew: "Are you okay Pikachu?"

Pikachu: "Pika Pika. Pikachu," (I'm okay. Thank you for saving me.)

(The Pikachu says.)

Mew: "I'm glad to hear,"

(Mew says, but soon notices a bruise on Pikachu's tail.)

(Then says.)

Mew: "But it looks like you got hurt. I got a few things that could heal that."

Pikachu: "Pika," (Okay.)

(The Pikachu replies.)

(Just then, Tomo's stomach begins to growl and becomes embarrassed.)

Tomo: "I am getting kind of hungry too."

Brock: "Well then, we better get to work,"

(Brock says.)

(Everyone agrees.)

(Soon, they all call out their Pokemon to help.)

(Brock, along with Grookey, Pansage, and Solrock help patch up the hole on the roof.)

(He's also wearing a raincoat from the storm.)

(Mew along with Pikachu and Eevee help tend to the Pikachu's injury.)

(Misty with her Pokemon: Oddish. Golduck. Snover. Panpour, and Togepi.)

(Tomo with his Mama Kangaskhan, and his Pokemon: Growlithe, Tangela, Buneary, and Tyrunt.)

(And with the electric Pokemon are cleaning up the debris from the collapsed roof as Brock is patching it up.)

(The group continues to clean up some of the old buildings and the roof until it's cleaned up.)

(Once the cleaning is done, Brock and Mew help prepare dinner.)

(while Misty, Tomo, Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta, Togepi, and the other Pokemon help set up the table, bowls, plates, and other essentials for dinner.)

(Mew and Misty are also putting the different Pokemon food in the bowl.)

(and special food for the Electric Type Pokemon.)

(Sometime later, dinner is officially ready.)

Brock: "Alright everyone, dinner's ready,"

(Brock says.)

(Soon, everyone begins to eat the dinner that's been prepared, and the Pokemon love the food that's been made for them.)

(Outside of the Power Plant, the rain continues to pour down and it seems it will take even longer for it to be done.)

(However, Mew and the others don't mind at all.)

(they are safe and warm inside the abandoned building and now have met some good friends.)

(The next day, the storm finally comes to an end.)

(The sun is shining bright as some of the drops of rain fall from the trees and plants, and the clouds are no longer in the sky, but a bright blue sky instead.)

(Inside the building, Mew, her friends, and the Pokemon are fast asleep in the large room of the Power Plant, and are sleeping comfortably.)

(Not long, everyone begins to wake up.)

(They all begin to sit up and let out yawns and rub the sleep out of their eyes.)

(Mew opens the door and the Pokemon run out to see the beautiful day outside.)

(even Tomo, Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta, and Togepi decide to run out and enjoy the nice day.)

(Misty sighs happily.)

Misty: "The storm is finally over."

Mew: "And it's now a lovely day outside,"

(Mew replies.)

Brock: "Now that the storm is cleared, we can continue our way to Viridian City,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Yeah. And I can earn my eighth badge,"

(Mew happily adds.)

(A little time later, Mew and her friends are ready to leave the old Power Plant and continue their journey.)

Misty: "Thank you for letting us stay for the night,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Hope you all have fun,"

(Mew says.)

Raichu: "Raichu Raichu Rai Rai Raichu," (Before you go, we want to give you something.)

(Raichu says.)

(Electabuzz and the other Raichu walk to Mew and Misty and they both have a Pokemon egg in their possession.)

(Electabuzz is holding a slightly dark yellow egg with black markings on it.)

(The Raichu is holding a Pokemon Egg that is yellow on the top and it's black on the bottom.)

Mew: "Are these for us?"

(Mew asks.)

(Raichu nods its head in reply.)

(Misty takes the egg that has yellow on the top and black on the bottom.)

(while Mew takes the egg that is all yellow with black markings.)

Misty: "Thank you,"

(Misty says.)

(Togepi happily says.)

Togepi: "Tokepriii!" (Thank you.)

(Meanwhile, Tomo is with one of the Voltorbs who shows a happy expression and nudges Tomo's leg.)

Tomo: "You wanna come with me, Voltorb?"

(Tomo asks.)

Voltorb: "Voltorb," (Sure do.)

(Voltorb replies.)

Tomo: "Okay Voltorb,"

(Tomo happily says.)

(He throws his Pokeball and it taps Voltorb.)

(Then it goes in his Pokeball.)

(With a few shakes and a click, Voltorb has been caught in the Pokeball.)

(Brock then kneels to the two Geodudes.)

(He can see how his own Geodude and the Alolan Geodude get along with each other, even though they'e different.)

Brock: "I can see you guys are getting alone,"

(Brock says.)

(Both Geodudes nod their heads with smiles.)

(Then Brock asks.)

Brock: "Hey, how would you like to come with us?"

(The Alolan Geodude becomes a bit confused.)

Brock: "I know it's a bit out of the blue, but I can see how strong you are and that you get along with my Geodude. I do hope you don't mind,"

(Brock says.)

(The Alolan Geodude thinks of it, and soon nods its head in reply.)

Brock: "I promise to take good care of you,"

(Brock says, and taps his Pokemon on the Geodude.)

(The Alolan Geodude goes in the Pokeball.)

(With a few shakes and a click.)

(The Alolan Geodude has been caught in the Pokeball.)

(Soon enough, Mew and the others wave goodbye to the Electric Pokemon as they leave the abandoned Power Plant.)
