Chapter 37: The Snow Way Out

(Mew and her friends continue on their journey.)

(as they walk down the path on a bright and sunny day.)

(Soon, they stop to see a fork in the road.)

(Pikachu turns to the others.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu? (So, which way?)

Mew: "Pikachu asked which way we go,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "Hmm. Let's see,"

(Brock says, looking at the map.)

(Then says.)

Brock: "According to the map, the trail on the right heads straight up a mountain," Brock says.

Misty: "I don't wanna go mountain climbing,"

(Misty complains.)

Mew: "Mountain climbing doesn't sound so bad. What about the other path?"

(Mew asks.)

Brock: "The other path takes us around the mountain, but goes through a very large forest. Apparently, going up the mountain is the faster way,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Well, the sooner we get to the next town the better, so let's try right,"

(Mew says.)

(The group then decide to go on the right fork.)

(and soon find themselves climbing up the mountain.)

(To their surprise, the mountain is covered in snow.)

Misty: "Wow! We need a ski lift to get up this thing, guys,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "I think we better just turn around and go the other way,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Maybe, but we should continue going this way, you did say it's the faster way,"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "Tomo agrees,"

(Tomo replies.)

Brock: "We should put on our snow gears first,"

(Brock says.)

Misty: "Good idea,"

(Misty replies.)

(The group put on their snow gears and continue to walk up the mountain.)

(However, the snow is still very cold.)

Misty: "I'm freezing! How much further is it till we get over this thing?"

(Misty complains.)

Brock: "According to this map, we should be close to the top,"

(Brock says, then checks the compass.)

(But when he looks at it, the needle spins around and around.)

Brock: "Whoa.That's weird,"

(Brock comments.)

Mew: "What's weird?"

(Mew asks.)

Brock: "The compass went crazy! This mountain must have so much iron, that it's throwing the needle off!"

(Brock says.)

(The group gasps in concern.)

Misty: "If the compass doesn't work, how are we gonna find our way?"

(Misty panics.)

(But Brock says.)

Brock: "Now, don't panic. If the sun's up there about three o'clock, according to my calculations, that means.."

Everyone: "What? What does it mean?

(The group asks.)

(Then Brock answers.)

Brock: "We're lost."

(But Mew has an idea.)

Mew: "I know what we can do."

(Then Mew tosses her Pokeball.)

Mew: "Pidgeotto, I choose you!"

(Then Pidgeotto comes out of his Pokeball.)

Mew: "Pigeotto, can you fly up and find a trail that will lead us down the mountain?"

(Mew asks.)

(Pidgeotto nods his head and takes flight.)

(It flies high up and soon finds greenery.)

(Then Pidgeotto returns.)

Mew: "Did you find a way down?"

(Mew asks.)

(Pidgeotto answers.)

Pidgeotto: "Pidgeotto" (We need to go that way.)

Mew: "Good work, Pidgeotto!"

(Mew says.)

(Then turns to the others.)

Mew: "Come on, let's get going."

(With that, Mew and her friends continue to walk up the mountain.)

(Unknown to the group, something is flying towards the mountain, and it has blue feathers that shimmers at the tail.)

(Meanwhile, on the other side of the mountain.)

(Team Rocket has been following the group again.)

(Meowth and James are hugging each other because they are freezing.)

Meowth: "Why'd they come to the cold way? I feel like a cat-sicle,"

(Meowth says, shivering.)

James: "I hate snow as much as you do,"

(James says.)

(Then turns his head.)

James: "But she loves it."

(Indeed, Jessie is singing as she is dancing around the snow.)

(She is very happy to be in the snow.)

(Confused, James asks.)

James: "Jessie, you don't actually like this frozen stuff?"

Jessie: "I love it! It brings back delicious memories!"

(Jessie happily says.)

Meowth: "The snow's making her a little flakey,"

(Meowth replies.)

(Jessie stops singing and says.)

Jessie: "Huh? I'm totally serious. Don't tell me that you've never eaten a snow-gasbord."

(Confused, James asks.)

James: "What is a…?"

Meowth: "Snow-gasbord?"

(Meowth adds.)

Jessie: "Snow-gasbord, one of the few cherished memories of my otherwise wretched childhood,"

(Jessie says.)

(Jessie remembers when she's a little girl, her mother made her food of her favorite dishes.)

(which are practically made with snow.)

(Jessie really loves the snow made food and is able to eat all of them.)

(Jessie happily sighs and says.)

Jessie: "There's nothing like 'snow-m- cooking."

(James shakes his head in shock.)

James: "I can't believe what I'm hearing."

Meowth: "You must be joking. You mean your mother actually made meals out of snow?"

(Meowth adds.)

Jessie: "We had to make due. Besides, snow food is low in fat and helped me maintain my fabulous figure,"

(Jessie says.)

(James and Meowth look at Jessie looking dumbfounded.)

(Then Jessie says.)

Jessie: "A snow-roll with just a dash of soy sauce. Mmm. There's nothing like it,"

(Jessie says with glee.)

(Then says.)

Jessie: "Of course, only freshly fallen snow will do."

(James and Meowth think differently.)

James: "Ooh, sounds awful,"

(James comments.)

Meowth: "Yeah, but at least it's all natural,"

(Meowth says.)

James: "Let's get going before the sun sets,"

(James says.)

(Then points his finger.)

James: "We can head them off if we use the balloon."

(Soon, the group reached the Hot Air Balloon.)

Jessie: "Let's make like snow and drift,"

(Jessie says.)

(Then James laughs.)

(Soon, they begin their Motto.)

Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!

James: To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James: To extend our reaches to the stars above.

Jessie: Jessie!

James: James!

Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.

James: Surrender

(Suddenly, Meowth screams in a kind of panic.)

(Jessie grabs Meowth and says.)

Jessie: "Stop interrupting, Meowth.

James: "We're getting to the best part,"

(James adds.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "But the balloon is drifting away!"

(Jessie and James look up to see the balloon is drifting away.)

(They all scream and begin to chase after the balloon as they fly away.)

(They continue to chase the balloon as they scream and panic.)

(Time has gone by, and dark clouds begin to roll into the sky.)

(And soon, Mew and her friends at least reach the train.)

(Brock wraps his arms around him.)

Brock: "Brr! We've been walking all day and we're not even at the top!"

(Soon, the snow begins to fall from the clouds.)

Mew: "Hey. It's snowing,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "Oh no! It was clear just a second ago!"

(Misty says, worried.)

Brock: "The weather in these mountains is totally unpredictable,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "We better get moving before the sun goes down. Come on!"

(Mew says.)

(Then the group continues to walk up the mountain.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket is tired because they chase the balloon, but they're unable to get to it.)

(James says.)

James: "We're sunk. All of our food and supplies are on that balloon."

Meowth: "Yeah, and it's starting to snow,"

(Meowth adds.)

James: "I'm getting hungry,"

(James says, depressed.)

(Jessie is staring at the snow and then an idea hits her.)

Jessie: "James. Meowth,"

(Jessie says, making her teammates turn their heads to her.)

James: "What is it, Jessie?"

(James asks)

Meowth: "Do you have a plan to get us out of here?"

(Meowth asks.)

Jessie: "I can make snow-rolls."

(Jessie says.)

(James and Meowth fall down dumbfound.)

Meowth: "Snow-rolls?"

(Meowth asks.)

James: "I think I need something a little bit more substantial,"

(James says.)

Jessie: "There's some soy sauce in that balloon and we have to get it. I can't make snow-rolls mama's way without soy sauce! Let's go!"

(Jessie angrily says, and marches after the balloon.)

(James and Meowth decide to simply follow.)

(Somewhere on the mountains, Mew and her friends continue to travel.)

(through the snowfall that has become a blizzard.)

(Mew turns to the others.)

Mew: "Let's just keep looking!"

Misty: "But I'm too frozen to go any farther!"

(Misty says.)

(Then Brock says.)

Brock: "I think we better stop and set up camp for the night!"

Mew: "I think you're right! There's no way we can find anything in this blizzard!"

(Mew says.)

(Then Mew looks up.)

Mew: "It feels that the storm is going to get worse."

Brock: "When a storm gets bad, it's best to dig in and let it blow over! And besides, the sun's gonna set soon,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Then we better get started,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "Good! Let's start digging a cave in the snow,"

(Brock says.)

(Everyone nodded their heads in reply.)

(Suddenly, a large gust of wind blows in, knocking everyone down to the ground.)

(Suddenly, Pikachu and Eevee are both being carried away by the wind.)

(Mew gasps.)

Mew: "Pikachu! Eevee!"

(Mew quickly gets up and quickly runs after them.)

(Mew turns to the others.)

Mew: "You all stay there and dig a shelter! I'll go find Pikachu and Eevee! And watch Tomo!"

Misty: "Wait!"

(Misty cries out, but Mew is already gone.)

(And Brock says.)

Brock: "Stay here! We'll get lost out there!"

Tomo: "Mew be okay?

(Tomo asks.)

Brock: "I'm sure she'll be fine. Make sure to stay close to us,"

(Brock says.)

(Tomo nods his head in reply.)

(Meanwhile, Mew is walking through the blizzard to find her friends.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu?! Eevee?! Where are you?!"

(So far no one answers.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu?! Eevee?! I'm here!"

(Mew continues to walk on the snow as she likes walking through sand.)

(She then falls over, but quickly gets back up.)

(Suddenly, Mew hears a cry.)

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pi-ka-chu! Ee-vee!" (We're over here!)

(Mew realizes who they are.)

Mew: "Pikachu?! Eevee?!

Pikachu: "Pika pi!" (We're over here!)

(Pikachu calls out.)

(Mew hears the direction their calls are coming from and follows.)

(Mew continues to walk through the snow as she hears Pikachu and Eevee cries.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu! Eevee!"

(As she walks through the snow, some of it breaks down from under her and she slides down to the edge of the cliff.)

(The young girl takes deep breaths in fright.)

(Suddenly, she hears her Pokemon's cry.)

Mew: "Pikachu? Eevee?"

(Mew replies.)

(She then looks over the ledge in front of her and to her shock.)

(she sees Pikachu and Eevee hanging on for dear life.)

(Mew quickly reaches out.)

Mew: "Pikachu! Eevee! Grab a hold of my hands!"

(Mew, Eevee, and Pikachu begin to reach for each other with all their might.)

(Mew reaches out and is not planning on giving up.)

(When Mew is close to reaching the Pokemon, the rock they are holding on to snaps off.)

(Mew quickly grabs their paws and pulls them up.)

Mew: "Are you both okay?"

(Mew asks.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pi," (We sure are.)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee Vee" (Thank you, Mew.)

(Eevee happily says.)

Mew: "Let's get back to the others,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew then begins to climb up the cliff to get back to the top.)

(but she continues to slide down.)

Mew: "It's no use! We can't get back up!"

(Mew says.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Hey, Brock! Misty! Tomo!"

(She then sighs.)

Mew: "They're never going to hear me all day."

(Just then, the wind begins to pick up again.)

(Soon, Pikachu and Eevee begin to shiver.)

(Mew then wraps her arms around them to keep them warm.)

Mew: "Looks like we'll have to dig a cave here and stay here for the night,"

(Mew says.)

(Soon, Mew begins to dig a tunnel with her bare hands.)

Mew: "We'll be okay, guys,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew continues to dig with her hand, much to Pikachu and Eevee's concern.)

(Mew suddenly feels her hand hurting, so she switches her hand to keep her Pokemon war and dig with the other hand.)

(Suddenly, coming out of his Pokemon on his own, Charmander appears.)

(Much to Mew's surprise.)

Mew: "Charmander, what are you doing out of your Pokeball?"

Charmander: "Char Charmander," (You're going to need help)

(Charmander says.)

(He takes a deep breath and creates a powerful flamethrower attack to make a hole through the snow.)

Mew: "Whoa! Not bad!"

(Mew says.)

(Just then, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Steenee, Cloyster, Raboot, and Diglett come out of their Pokeballs.)

Mew: "You all wanna help too?"

(Mew asks.)

(All the Pokemon nod their heads.)

(Mew smiles and says.)

Mew: "Okay, everybody. Let's get to work and seal off this cave!"

(Mew and her friends hurry inside the cave and begin to seal it up with snow.)

(They continue to pile the snow over the entrance.)

(Once the snow has covered the entrance, Cloyster decides to use an ice beam to seal up the entrance more, so the snow will be completely frozen.)

Mew: "That oughta keep the blizzard from getting in,"

(Mew says.)

(Soon, the Pokemon begins to shiver, much to Mew's concern.)

(Charmander has an idea and uses his tail flame to create a big fireplace.)

Mew: "Thanks Charmander,"

(Mew happily replies.)

(Now the Pokemon who are out, including Mew are staying warm.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket are in an Igloo that they made and have a fire going in there.)

(James sadly says.)

James: "We're doomed. How are we ever going to survive in this ug-gloo?"

Meowth: "And this candle is our last bit of heat,"

(Meowth says, holding a candle.)

(Until the candle goes out.)

(Jessie then places her snow made goods on the ground and says.)

Jessie: "Dinner time! Mom's secret recipe snow-rolls,"

(Jessie says.)

(James sadly says.)

James: "I'm just not in the mood for frozen food."

Meowth: "Now all we got left are burnt out matches,"

(Meowth says, holding them in his paw.)

(James takes one and says.)

James: "If we pretend they're actually heating lamps, maybe that will be enough to keep us warm."

(Jessie takes another.)

Jessie: "We just have to use our imagination."

Meowth: "I'll try anything to warm up,"

(Meowth says.)

(Soon, the three begin to imagine being in hot places in order to keep cool.)

(Meowth imagines he is in a hot tube.)

(James imagines himself at the beach.)

(Jessie imagines she is in a desert, with a kotatsu, heaters with teapots, and wears sweaters and scarves.)

(Jessie soon opens her eyes to find James and Meowth asleep, mostly falling into dreamland.)

(Knowing that this isn't a time for sleeping, Jessie claps them to wake up.)

(Then angrily says.)

Jessie: "If you fall asleep you'll freeze!"

(Then Jessie continues to slap them multiple times to keep them up.)

(Back in the cave, Mew and her Pokemon are trying to keep warm with Charmander's tail flame.)

Mew: "I hope Misty, Brock, Tomo are alright,"

(Mew sadly says.)

(Suddenly, she hears her Pokemon growing concerned.)

(and turns her head to see Charmander's flame is starting to go out.)

Mew: "Oh no. charmander your flame is starting to go out, and you're very tired,"

(Mew says.)

(She then brings out her Pokeball.)

Mew: "I think you should get back in your Pokeball and get some rest.

(But Charmander answers.)

Charmander: "Char char.," (No way.)

Mew: "No way? But Charmander, you're tuckered out. I'll let you get some rest for a while,"

(Mew says.)

(Then turns to her Pokemon.)

Mew: "And you all should do the same too?"

(However, all the Pokemon shake their heads.)

Mew: "You won't go in your Pokeballs? Why?"

(Mew says, confused.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pika," (Because you'll get cold.)

(Pikachu says.)

(Eevee adds.)

Eevee: "Vee, Eevee Eevee Eevee Eevee. Eevee Eevee." (Yeah. It doesn't feel right while we're warm in the Pokeballs while you're freezing. Pikachu and I don't even like to be in our Pokeballs."

Cloyster: "Cloyster Cloyster," (The cold doesn't bother me.)

(Cloyster says.)

Steenee: "Steenee Steenee. Steenee Steen." (You're an Ice Type, Cloyster. Of course it doesn't bother you,")

(Steenee sternly says.)

(Cloyster chuckles with a grin on his face.)

(Mew sighs with a smile.)

Mew: "Alright, you all win. I guess we all can be cold together. We'll have to gather together."

(Everyone agrees.)

(Mew and the Pokemon she has out, gathered together and they all decide to stay warm.)

(Suddenly, Pidgeotto, Galarian Ponyta, Teddiursa, Axew, Shaymin, Cleffa, Arcanine, Sandshrew, Espurr, Weedle, Krabby, Wurmple, Wooloo, Red Sunkern, and even Shiny Dratini.)

(Much to Mew's surprise.)

Mew: "What are you all doing out?"

(Mew asks, surprised.)

Shaymin: "Shaymin Shay," (Keeping you all warm.)

(Shaymin happily says.)

Teddiursa: "Teddi Teddiursa," (We're going to keep each other warm.)

(Teddiursa says.)

Wooloo: "Baaa," (Yeah.)

(Wooloo happily says.)

(Dratini then wraps itself around Mew's neck and snuggles her cheek.)

(Mew giggles and Arcanine licks her on the other cheek.)

(Mew smiles and says.)

Mew: "Okay. Looks like we'll be together for the night."

(And so, Mew and her Pokemon continue to bundle together throughout the night.)

(The blizzard continues to blow harshly outside.)

(The next day, Mew and her Pokemon wake up from their sleep.)

(Charmander and Arcanine use their Fire attacks to melt down the ice wall so they can leave.)

(Mew looks out as she says.)

Mew: "The blizzard's over!"

Cleffa: "Cleffa!" (Hooray!)

(Cleffa happily says.)

Red Sunkern: "Sunkern Sunkern," (The sun is beginning to rise.)

(Red Sunkern happily says.)

(Mew and all her Pokemon look out to see the sun is beginning to rise.)

Mew: "It's beautiful,"

(Mew says.)

Steenee: "Steenee," (I agree.)

(Steenee happily says.)

Raboot: "Raboot." (Amazing.)

(Raboot calmly says.)

(Mew turns to her Pokemon.)

Mew: "Okay, everyone. It's time for us to find a way off the cliff and find the others."

(Suddenly, Mew notices that Teddiursa, Galarian, Cleffa, Shiny Dratini, and Axew aren't with them.)

Mew: "Huh?"

(Mew says, confused and walks inside the cave to see the little ones digging in the snow.)

(Mew walks over and asks.)

Mew: "Now what are you all doing?"

(The little Pokemon each hold and present a crystal.)

(Little Dratini is holding a teal color crystal that has a picture of a dragon wing in it on its head.)

(Axew is holding a small pale blue color crystal that has a picture of a snowflake on it in his paws.)

(Cleffa is holding a pink crystal that has a picture of fairy wings in her hands.)

(Teddiursa is holding a white crystal that has a dot in the middle of a circle.)

(Lastly in the little Ponyta's mouth, she is holding a magenta pink color crystal with a curve up symbol with two arrows sticking out, and has a dot and a circle in the middle.)

Mew: "Wow. They're very pretty,"

(Mew says.)

(The little Pokemon then gives them to Mew by placing them on the ground in front of them.)

(Mew picks them up and says.)

Mew: "Thank you. You're all sweet."

(Suddenly, they hear Brock's voice.)

Brock: "Mew!

Misty: "Mew, up here!"

(Misty calls out.)

Tomo: "Mew!"

(Tomo adds.)

(Mew hurries outside the cave and looks up to see Misty, Brock and Tomo.)

(Mew smiles and says.)

Mew: "It's great to see you."

(After calling back her Pokemon, excluding Eevee and Pikachu who are on her shoulders.)

(Onix is able to lower down and lift Mew back up to them.)

(Tomo runs to Mew and gives her a hug.)

Misty: "Mew, how'd you get through that storm?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "We made a cave, just like Brock said,"

(Mew says.)

(Brock laughs and says.)

Brock: "Ha! Lucky for us we didn't have to freeze all night in the one I dug.

Mew: "What do you mean?"

(Mew asks.)

Misty: "Onix dug into an underground hot spring. You wouldn't believe how comfy we were,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Well, we weren't comfy, that's for sure!"

(Mew says, embarrassed.)

Brock: "And take a look at what the blizzard blew in,"

(Brock says.)

(Soon, the group of friends see Team Rocket's hot air balloon.)

Mew: "That's Team Rocket's balloon! Wonder how they lost it,"

(Mew says, surprised.)

(Then Misty says.)

Misty: "Finders keepers!"

Brock: "It's outta fuel, but I know how we can fix that. Go, Vulpix!"

(Brock says, and calls out Vulpix.)

(Vupix comes out of its Pokeball and Brock says.)

Brock: "Vulpix, Flamethrower, now!"

(The attack soon fills up the balloon with hot air.)

Brock: "Up, up and away!"

(Brock says as Mew and the others climb on it.)

(Once they're all on the balloon, the group begins to ride on it to the next down.)

!Meanwhile, Team Rocket is pinching themselves to keep themselves awake.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "It hurts!"

Jessie: "I hurt more!"

(Jessie screams.)

(James screams as well.)

Jessie: "But if we don't stay awake, we'll be history,"

(Jessie cries out.)

James: "If we survive this, I'm gonna need a face-lift,"

(James says.)

(Soon, Team Rocket notices their balloon.)

Jessie: "Look up there!"

(Jessie says.)

(James adds.)

James: "That's our balloon!"

(Soon, they begin to chase after it.)

(Soon, they fall and splash into a hot spring.)

Meowth: "What's this?"

(Meowth asks.)

James: "It's a hot spring, like the one you imagined,"

(James answers.)

(Meowth smiles and says.)

Meowth: "I guess my wish came true!"

Jessie: "Well, whatever it is, it feels lovely,"

(Jessie happily says.)

(Then they all say.)

Team Rocket: "Team Rocket is warming up again!"

(Their statement soon catches Mew's attention.)

Mew: "Hey, did you guys here what I just heard?"

Misty: "Huh? I didn't hear anything."

(Misty says, confused.)

(Suddenly, Brock notices something ahead.)

Brock: "Hey, look!"

(Everyone looks ahead to see greenery along with a town.)

Mew: "It's a town!"

(Mew happily says.)

Misty: "We made it!"

(Misty says.)

(The group laughs as they continue to travel in the air to the next down.)

(Mew along with her friends and Pokemon survive the snow storm.)

(Now, they are sailing over the mountains to warm land.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket is still stuck in the hot springs, and is not happy to be in the pool anymore.)

(They try to get out, but the cold air prevents them from leaving.)

Jessie: "It's too hot to stay in,"

(Jessie says.)

James: "But it's too cold to get out,"

(James adds.)

(Meowth says.)

Meowth: "I'm gonna wind up with hot feet and a head cold."

(Soon, the group says together.)

Team Rocket: "We're all washed up!"

(And so Team Rocket remains stuck in the hot springs as Mew and her friends continue on their journey.)
