When Kael stepped out of the inn, Ballister immediately ran to his side, worry clearly etched on his forehead. Ever since the demoness walked into their lives, possessing Jacquelyn's body, Ballister hadn't had a moment of peace. He was either worried about his master or Lyn.
"Master..." Ballister whispered, "Is Lyn still there...did you feel her presence?"
Kael nodded. He turned back to look at the inn, where Doom's voice could still be heard. Clearly, the demoness was frustrated and annoyed, breaking things with loud crashes. Kael didn't like taking it slow with Doom, but if he wanted Jacquelyn to come out unscathed, then he needed to leave fast and play smart.
"Did you notice anything from her underlings?" Kael asked, moving his shoulder up and down as though stretching his body before starting to walk.
Ballister trotted after his master, increasing his pace to catch up with Kael. "Well...the young girl...she doesn't look human."
