Adrenaline surged through Jacquelyn's blood when she heard the small bell that signaled them to move. She was excited at the same time she wanted to win at all costs. This was their first competition as a couple, and though the gift might mean nothing to Kael, it did to her. She wanted them to win.

When the race started, the participants rushed to the table set in front and grabbed the jar of wine, gulping it hungrily. The crowd cheered loudly as they watched them, until they noticed two unique couples, and their cheering faltered.

Kael walked down to the table, taking his sweet time as he strolled like nothing was happening.

"Is he making a jest of us or what?" One of the onlookers asked with annoyance laced in his tone.

Even Jacquelyn buried her face on Kael's shoulder. She didn't want to be identified as someone he knew. "Husband...please do something, I don't want to lose."
