As Jacquelyn and Iva stepped out of the kitchen, separating the plates, Iva couldn't help but stifle a giggle. When Jacquelyn turned to look at her, Iva waved her hands dismissively.

"I didn't mean to laugh, but seriously. You've shared a bed with Kael, and he hasn't really touched you... Just how unattractive are you to him?" Iva clicked her tongue, washing her hands in the earthenware close to her feet before stepping back.

Jacquelyn rubbed her neck gently but didn't say a word. She already knew Kael had no feelings for her and didn't see her as a woman, but hearing it from someone else made her even more annoyed. She remembered how she had kissed him again that night after they had returned from the pleasure district. After that, Kael had acted differently, mentioning something about hunting.
