บท 68: Did you know?

Kael's words replayed in the back of Jacquelyn's mind, like a warning bell signaling danger. Kael was danger and she knew that much. Jacquelyn couldn't believe she had openly asked Kael to sleep with her. The last time she got away with it because she didn't want to be sent back to the palace; she didn't want to be alone anymore. But after last night, despite being drunk, she realized something important when she saw her sisters, they liked her and weren't even scared of her. If she could show them she was normal, maybe her father would let her stay.

Why would she ruin that by foolishly asking Kael to sleep with her? And why was he looking at her that way now? Jacquelyn swallowed hard, clearing her throat in the process. Kael had his gaze fixed on her, causing Jacquelyn to look away. She remembered his words, what did he mean by doing it carefully? The princess adjusted her position on the bed, ready to run out in case Kael made any sudden move.
