She didn't know how to broach the subject with him.

Actually, returning home last night would have been the perfect time to thank him. It seemed rather insincere to think of expressing thanks after a whole day had passed.

She entered the passcode and pushed the door open.

The vast living room was empty.

Uncle Xiang was in the kitchen. Seeing her return, he quickly came forward, "Young Madam, you're back."

"Yes. Where is he?" Zhiyi asked.

"You mean Young Master? He hasn't come back yet." Uncle Xiang said, "But Zhou Zheng called back and said that the young master might be home in half an hour. I'm preparing a late-night snack for the young master."

So he hadn't eaten yet?

Zhiyi said, "Uncle Xiang, you can finish for the day. I will take care of things here."

Uncle Xiang blinked, "Are you preparing the late-night snack for the young master?"
