The map was ancient, its parchment edges frayed and browned with age, as though it had survived countless storms. Captain Elias held it carefully in his gloved hand, the ink of the compass rose still bold, directing them toward the unknown. The ship, Tempest Wind, creaked beneath his boots as it cut through the ocean, the waters churning in shades of deep blue. His crew moved about their duties, though there was an unspoken tension in the air. They all knew the legends.

"Are you sure this is wise, Captain?" First Mate Rowe asked, his voice betraying the nervousness that had gripped the crew. He gestured toward the map, the unfamiliar lands drawn with crude but accurate detail. "This sea... no one returns from it."

Elias looked up at the horizon, where the sky seemed to merge with the water in a line as sharp as a blade. "The map calls us. It has been hidden for centuries, and yet it found its way to me. We're closer than anyone has ever been to discovering what's out there."
