The hotel where Kai and Hanabi stayed was the epitome of luxury and grandeur. Towering at 100 floors, it was an architectural marvel, boasting sleek, modern lines and a facade that shimmered with a combination of glass and steel. The penthouse suite, perched at the very top, offered breathtaking panoramic views of the sprawling city below.
Upon entering the suite, one was greeted by an expansive living area, bathed in soft, ambient lighting that highlighted the intricate designs etched into the polished marble floors. The walls were adorned with contemporary art pieces, each frame perfectly lit by discreet recessed lighting. A grand crystal chandelier hung from the vaulted ceiling, its myriad crystals casting a dazzling array of light around the room. The chandelier itself was a masterpiece, with delicate strands of glass that cascaded down like a frozen waterfall.
"Brother, look at that chandelier! It's so shiny and pretty!" Hanabi exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.
Kai smiled, glad to see his sister so excited. "It's beautiful, isn't it? This place is like a palace."
Hanabi nodded vigorously. "Can we stay here forever?"
Kai chuckled softly. "We'll stay for a while, but we'll see about forever. Let's explore some more."
The furniture was a blend of opulence and comfort, with plush sofas upholstered in rich velvet, complemented by silk cushions that added a touch of elegance. A large mahogany coffee table sat at the center, its surface gleaming under the chandelier's glow. The room's color palette was a harmonious mix of deep blues, golds, and creamy whites, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and sophistication.
Hanabi ran her fingers over the velvet sofa, her curiosity piqued by the luxurious texture. "This sofa feels so soft, Kai. It's like sitting on a cloud!"
Kai joined her, testing the comfort himself. "You're right, Hanabi. It's the most comfortable sofa I've ever sat on."
To one side of the living area was a state-of-the-art kitchen, equipped with the latest appliances and finished with granite countertops. An elegant dining table, crafted from dark wood and surrounded by high-backed chairs with intricate carvings, provided the perfect setting for gourmet meals. Floor-to-ceiling windows lined the outer walls, draped with heavy, luxurious curtains that could be drawn back to reveal the stunning cityscape.
"Wow, brother! Look at the kitchen! Can we cook something here?" Hanabi asked, peeking over the granite countertops.
Kai laughed. "Sure, we can try making something later. But first, let's see the rest of the suite."
The bedroom was a sanctuary of indulgence, featuring a king-sized bed with a tufted headboard and dressed in the finest Egyptian cotton linens. A canopy of sheer, flowing fabric added a touch of romantic elegance. Beside the bed stood nightstands carved from solid oak, topped with delicate, hand-blown glass lamps. A walk-in closet, larger than most city apartments, housed an array of storage options, all designed to keep belongings neatly organized and accessible.
Hanabi's eyes widened as she saw the bed. "Brother, this bed is huge! Can we jump on it?"
Kai grinned. "Just this once, Hanabi. Let's make it quick."
They both laughed as they jumped on the bed, the sheer joy of the moment lifting their spirits. After a few minutes, Kai helped Hanabi down and led her to the bathroom.
The bathroom was nothing short of a private spa, with a deep soaking tub set against a backdrop of Italian marble, complete with a built-in jacuzzi. The double vanity featured sleek, chrome fixtures and a vast mirror with integrated lighting. A rainfall shower with glass doors offered a rejuvenating experience, while plush towels and high-end toiletries added to the sense of pampered luxury.
"Can I take a bath in there, Brother? Look at that tub!" Hanabi asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Kai smiled, touched by her innocence. "Of course, Hanabi. You'll have a nice, relaxing bath later."
As they explored the suite together, Kai felt a sense of peace and happiness he hadn't experienced in a long time. This luxurious environment was a far cry from the hardships they had endured, and seeing Hanabi's joy made it all worthwhile.
After they finished checking everything in their hotel room, they stepped out onto the balcony. The view was breathtaking, the city lights twinkling like stars beneath them. The cool evening breeze gently rustled their hair as they sat down together on a plush outdoor sofa.
"Wow, look at all those lights, brother! The city looks so beautiful from up here," Hanabi said, her voice filled with awe.
Kai wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "It really does, Hanabi. It's like we're on top of the world."
Hanabi leaned into him, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Do you think we'll ever live in a place like this, brother?"
Kai looked out at the cityscape, his mind filled with determination. "Maybe one day, Hanabi. But for now, let's just enjoy this moment."
They sat in companionable silence for a while, watching the city below. Hanabi's eyes sparkled with questions. "Brother, why do you think Ms. Elara helped us? Do you think she's nice?"
Kai smiled down at her. "I think she is, Hanabi."
'Elara was a nice woman, she helped people for free even when she was ill.' He thought.
************A/N:....(I was waiting to discuss the ranking and the world geography in the academy, or should I just write it in the next chapter.)........
Elara Walker is the number one support in the human domain. She always helps whenever she can without expecting in return. She also owns one of the biggest guilds in the human domain, sitting at number 6 spot. Elara is one of the rare people in the human domain who have two professions, she's a support and a fighter at the same time. In the SH (Strongest Human) leaderboard she's number 11 and at Transcendent rank. Sadly, even though she's strong Elara died due to overusing her power. But now with the elixir on the way, her illness will be cured.
Hanabi nodded thoughtfully. "I want to be like that when I grow up. I want to help people and make them happy."
Kai's heart swelled with pride. "You already make me happy, Hanabi. And I know you'll make a lot of other people happy too."
As the night grew darker, they continued to sit together, the twinkling lights of the city creating a magical backdrop to their conversation. The challenges they had faced seemed far away, replaced by a sense of hope and tranquility.
Kai knew that this was just the beginning of their journey. There would be more obstacles to overcome, but with Hanabi by his side and the support of new allies like Elara, he felt ready to face whatever the future held.
As Kai and Hanabi enjoyed the view, a sudden knock on the door interrupted their peaceful moment. Hanabi jumped up excitedly. "I'll get it!" she exclaimed, running to the door.
She opened it to find a woman standing there, dressed in a professional suit. Behind her, several assistants carried racks of clothes, ranging from elegant dresses to formal wear for both Kai and Hanabi. The woman smiled warmly at Hanabi.
"Hello, Hanabi. I'm Lila, and I brought some outfits for you and your brother," she said, stepping inside.
Kai rose from the sofa, approaching them with a curious expression. "What's all this for?"
Lila handed him a beautifully embossed envelope. "This is an invitation from Elara. There's a birthday party tonight, and she wants you both to attend. It's a very luxurious event."
Kai opened the envelope and read the invitation. It was written in elegant script, inviting them to Elara's birthday party, to be held in the grand ballroom of the hotel.
"Wow, a birthday party! That sounds fun!" Hanabi exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement.
Kai smiled, nodding in agreement. "It does. Thank you, Lila."
Lila directed the assistants to set up the racks of clothes in the living area. "Please take your time choosing what you'd like to wear. If you need any alterations, we can take care of that as well."
Hanabi immediately began looking through the dresses, her eyes wide with wonder. "Brother, look at this one! It's so pretty!"
Kai chuckled, joining her in examining the outfits. "You should try it on, Hanabi. I think it'll look great on you."
While watching Hanabi pick a dress, Kai was smiling secretly.
'I didn't think I would get invited to this party', he thought.
Only one chapter today, I had an exam.
