Greg jumped forward as fast as he could that he could almost break the ground he sprinted on.
In less than a split second, he reached Renir, his two fingers assumed like a pin, going in to strike Renir's side.
'The first step to further debilitate a weakened master is to ruin his sense of balance and control. However, a real master has a thousand ways to protect his vitals, his head, neck, and his back, but weakening one's side can already weaken their sense of weight control, preventing him to use more of his skills and techniques!' Greg used all his force for this one attack. That is to hit that one vital spot.
Time slowed and his eyes were focused on targeting that one vital spot on either one of Renir's sides.
'It seemed easy to defend one's side but if you have to defend one then you will leave one open! This is already a checkmate!'
However, Greg found that both sides were open and thus, he chose his strong right to try and pierce a devastating blow onto Renir's body. But as his fingers were about to reach its target, Greg's body hair violently and instantaneously stood up.
Immediately-
"HAH!!" Greg shouted with all his might as he retreated his fingers and jumped back to where he sprinted. His shout echoed loud throughout the passages...
"Huuu..." he heavily exhaled with a frown above his sharp chin while squinting his already narrowed eyes, making it seem like a pair of slits as he held his hurting arm. The rebound on suddenly retreating his full force was too much that it made his right arm temporarily incapacitated.
'Is... he really weakened?' Greg thought and looked at the man who did not move a single inch except his right fist in front, 'Any later that I retrieved my attack and my fingers would definitely be inside that fist right now...'
Renir had his brows furrowed too, "I don't want to fight..." he whispered.
Then faint yet, fast footsteps entered his ears. Those footsteps did not come from just one person.
A strong wind suddenly blew underground-
Out of nowhere, a man jumped onto Renir's right side with a knife in front. One of Ernanfo's direct disciples, he was the opposite of Greg, the one who knew only to kill!
'I got him!' the assassin-like disciple thought as he targets the neck but with a glance, he saw his supposed victim's eyes glaring at his. 'Ah...'
"HU!" a big man then came in between the two with quick steps and received the incoming punch from Renir that the assassin-like disciple did not notice.
In that split second, the knife slightly tilted so as not to harm his ally. But as the big man who thought that he completely absorbed the punch was pushed back as Renir put more force.
"Urgh!" the big man slid backward while pushing the killer with the knife. Dust floated like a cloud of smoke from the trail which the big man's feet slid.
Renir was surprised to see the addition of people but knew that there should be one more. It did not take long before he learned the location of the fourth person as he felt something from behind.
An arrow was gliding through the air and was about to hit his back but Renir didn't let it reach him and parried it using his greater flexibility, Pak* the arrow broke into a half the immediately, then immediately felt a kick on his leg as he saw a glance of a woman with a small bow on her back below him.
"Ha!" the woman shouted as she tried to kick Renir out of balance again and at the same time, Greg had already sprinted from the very start and was about bring another blow to Renir.
With a roll of his eyes, Renir saw that the man with the knife was already on his left and the big man on his right with a big fist in front of him.
He was about to fall while three attacks were directed at him...
Renir's eyes widened and, "Hmph!" he kicked the ground shatter and jumped out of being locked.
But as soon as he was in mid-air, the woman shouted, "You fell for it!" with lightning-quick hands, he had her bow readied with arrows and released tens of shots in just a single second, but she did not stop until she suspended all her arrows into the air.
Renir, mid-air, saw all the incoming arrows shooting at him at an incredible accuracy and precision.
"Nal! Bardock!" Greg shouted as he regained his posture together with the other two after Renir's jump that easily shattered the ground.
Nal was the master of killing strikes and Bardock was the robust man who was a master of strength and fortitude replied, "On it!" as Bardock positioned his arms to act as a spring for Nal to jump "HU!", he swung as Nal stepped on it.
Swoosh~*
Nal flew as if he had wings towards Renir who was still mid-air since all their actions happened in a mere second.
Even though the ceiling was high on that hall, Nal reached the ceiling to kick it and direct his trajectory towards Renir with much faster speed. His knife ready with the intent to make Renir bleed.
Greg, on the other hand, sprinted again and towards the location where Renir should land to get a vital blow again if he managed to escape all these attacks.
'Don't underestimate the teamwork that was forged by being Master's sparring partners for as long as we can remember!' Greg thought.
With tens of arrows, maybe even reaching to a hundred, in front of him, a master assassin behind these barrages ready to attack him and another skilled fighter, waiting for him at his landing spot, Renir was locked again. However, with his new improved flexibility and coordination, he managed to redirect the wind around him, coupling with his wind attribute to barely dodged the few arrows, parry some, and let the rest grazed his skin.
As he spun in the air like a blade, his movements small and sharp in the fastest way he could move, droplets of blood were ejected. After overcoming the arrow attacks, he focused on the assassin that would get to him before he land and meet with the skilled fighter.
A flash of light reached his eyes as the sharp blade that reflected the light on the ceiling was closer to him with a few inches apart, coming to the front of his face!
Renir's face twitched as he let out his body modification and opened his mouth.
'What in the actual...!' Nal was put in disbelief as he saw the blade of his knife now in fragments instead of overflowing blood. However, it did not let him stop as he took another knife with quick hands from his pocket and directed it towards Renir's neck.
Renir didn't worry about it as his metallic claws easily parried it with a Clang!*
'Shit!' Nal could only watch and just hoped that Renir wouldn't attack. This young man was too fast than what they expected!
But, fortunately, Renir wasn't on offense but the mere glare of his eyes as Nal stared into it made him tremble. While being traumatized, Nal felt his foot was pulled as Bardock grabbed and retrieved him, fearing that the young man would counterattack.
Renir was so close to the ground but before he could reach that, he had to defend himself from Greg who had eyes that were sure to finally put a fatal blow onto Renir's body.
'My intention earlier was to only poke him, but now, I have to put my hard-earned technique into it.' Greg bent his back and forced his right arm to move like a master he was, "Six Strikes; Sense-Breaker!" he shouted.
As if he had six arms, six strikes hit Renir at the same time and pushed Renir away that made him land on the opposite side of Greg.
Renir lightly landed on his feet and held the parts where he was struck.
"Now, he shouldn't be able to see, hear, or even feel our presence properly." Greg felt his fists trembling but dismissed it and readied for the final phase of the attack.
"Wait!" the woman with a fairly short black hair and skimpy suit for flexible fighting, Rea, halted their advance, "... Greg, don't your strikes never once failed?"
Noticing what Rea realized, Greg gulped, "I guess... this is the first one."
The four of them cornered Renir in the middle of the large hall but it doesn't seem like the four had the advantage. The long and great experience they had from fighting and killing sharpened their senses, and right now, they felt like the young man they gave their all against was still like before.
They all stood in silence as Renir did too. They felt that if they advanced again, he would retaliate, defeating them all.
"Only Master could bring this one down." Rea sweated and huffed. The arrows were already stacked on its container that was strapped on her left thigh. While the others proceeded to combo Renir, she was taking her time to retrieve all the arrows that were not broken. She was, after all, the fourth direct disciple of Ernanfo, a master of speed and flexibility.
But even with these four masters cornering one enemy, they felt hopeless.
'I'm gravely wrong!' Greg dismayed.
"I-I have to sit this one out, guys... My skills are for killing after all and Master wouldn't want that man to be killed, right?" Nal trembled as he spoke, a terror was instilled into him when his second knife was destroyed by nails!
He didn't notice or would even know that a human would have metallic claws. When he saw that metallic jaw, sharp teeth, and claws, he thought he was just hallucinating out of fear, thus, increasing the terror.
In a blink of an eye, he disappeared from his spot and left an echoing voice, "I'll wake up the other strong disciples! More manpower will be helpful!"
"...." Greg was shocked from this, 'That ruthless killer fled?'
"I-idiot! With their strength, they will just become deadweights!" Rea shouted in anger, "That coward!"
.....
"Now..." a tough voice came out of the stout figure, reaching seven feet tall, Bedok, "What do we do? He doesn't seem to be retaliating from our attacks." he frowned since the first punched he received was so powerful that it actually broke many lines of his defense and tore a bit of his skin.
'That punch must've been just a reflex when he sensed Nal's killing intent...' he thought and quivered, 'Haha.... how strong would it be if he put all his strength?'
While the three stared at the monster in the middle, locked in a stalemate, Renir whispered again with a blank face, "I said I don't want to fight." by then, the tiny grazes that made him bled slowly recovered.
