Level 4: Blazing Hell.
Thousands of prison guards have fortified the narrow stairwell with layers of defense, their weapons aimed at the stairwell, ready to confront any escaped prisoners.
Magellan, still wrapped in bandages, stands guard at the stairs alongside Vice Warden Hannyabal, Head Jailer Domino, Head Jailer Sadi, and other high-ranking officials of Impel Down.
Hannyabal, gripping his cherished naginata, impatiently exclaims, "Why haven't they shown up yet? By now, they should have escaped long ago! Shouldn't we take the initiative and attack?"
Magellan, with a stoic expression, replies, "Patience, Hannyabal. You and I both know what kinds of monsters are imprisoned on Level 6. We might not win a direct confrontation, and even if we do, the losses would be severe. We need to stick to the plan."
Domino adjusts her sunglasses and adds, "Warden, I believe we should inform Fleet Admiral Sengoku about this situation. If we manage to quell the unrest, we'll still be held accountable otherwise."
Magellan shakes his head, "No! Even if we inform Fleet Admiral Sengoku, he can't spare any troops to assist us at the moment. Our report would only add to his burden."
He then asks, "Have you notified the navy outside to move their ships away?"
Domino nods in affirmation, "Yes, they are currently moving their warships away from Impel Down."
Magellan says, "Good. This way, even if we fail, the prisoners won't be able to escape from the prison. Once the conflict at the Navy Headquarters is resolved, Fleet Admiral Sengoku will be able to address the situation with these prisoners more effectively."
Despite the gravity of the crisis facing Impel Down, Magellan remains confident that the prisoners will not be able to escape.
The unique geographical advantage of Impel Down ensures that no matter what happens, those locked within its walls will never break free.
At most, Impel Down's guards would perish in the battle! But if the prisoners managed to escape, it would be a serious breach of duty, and it was only natural that those responsible would face their demise in the conflict!
Magellan thought for a moment and then asked again, "Is Sadi ready? Do we have enough protective suits?"
Even though Magellan was prepared to fight to the death, he certainly didn't want to die!
Winning would obviously be the best outcome.
Domino nodded in response, "We're all set! Sadi, along with five hundred elite jailers equipped with protective suits, is more than enough!"
Magellan felt reassured by this information. Just as he was about to say something, his Den Den Mushi began to ring with a "brubru" sound!
Magellan frowned, pulled out the Den Den Mushi, and saw that it was Sadi, the very person he had just inquired about, calling him!
Once he connected the call, Sadi's voice came through, "Oh~, Warden, the elevator is moving!"
Magellan was taken aback and slightly surprised by this news! They controlled the elevator, so it shouldn't be moving unless they allowed it.
The prisoners shouldn't be foolish enough to use the elevator to escape!
Magellan's plan was for the prisoners to rush up the stairs after escaping their cells, and then he intended to block them in the stairwell!
As the prisoners surged into the stairwell, Sadi would use the 500 elite soldiers who had been prepared in advance to take the elevator down to the Level 5: Freezing Hell in batches, in order to block their escape route!
At that moment, he planned to use the power of the Venom-Venom Fruit to transform the stairwell between the Level 4 and Level 5 into a toxic zone, poisoning all the prisoners!
This strategy was designed to achieve the greatest results with minimal sacrifice!
However, plans often fail to keep up with changes!
Magellan hadn't anticipated that the prisoners would be reckless enough to use the elevator to flee from the prison!
Frowning, Magellan inquired, "How many people are on the other side? Who are they?"
Sadi made a wry face and replied, "There's only one person—the Former Head Jailer Shiryu~~. He's watching me through the surveillance Den Den Mushi, and his gaze is quite sharp!"
Magellan was taken aback. He had almost forgotten that Shiryu was still confined on Level 6 for reflection!
Seeing that Magellan didn't respond, Sadi asked, "What do you think, warden? Should we let him come up?"
Magellan hesitated for a moment before nodding, "Let him come to me directly!"
Magellan didn't dwell on it too much. In his view, Shiryu was simply cold-hearted and somewhat cruel towards the prisoners, but he still had a minimum level of responsibility and ethics!
Moreover, they were currently short on high-level combat power, and Shiryu was a viable option!
Additionally, Shiryu's arrival could provide some insight into the current situation on Level 6!
After a while, Shiryu, with a stern expression, took the elevator up to Level 4 and headed toward Magellan's location.
Shiryu exuded an intimidating aura, making the surrounding jailers sweat nervously and instinctively clear a path for him!
As Shiryu approached, Magellan asked in a deep voice, "Shiryu, what's the situation down there now?"
Shiryu exhaled a puff of smoke and said calmly, "What else can we do? Buggy the Clown has unlocked all the cells and freed every prisoner on Level 6. He's on his way here now!"
"I waited until they were all gone before taking the elevator up. Judging by the time, they should be arriving soon!"
Magellan listened in silence, staring intently at Shiryu without speaking a word.
Shiryu made no move to break the silence and waited quietly.
After a lengthy pause, Magellan finally asked, "Shiryu, what do you think we should do now?"
"What do you think?" Shiryu sneered. "Magellan, the right and wrong of this situation are crystal clear now! If you had listened to me and executed all the prisoners earlier, we wouldn't be in this mess!"
Seeing Shiryu's unrepentant attitude, Magellan couldn't contain his anger. "Shiryu! You need to understand that this is a prison, not a place for executions! You are the Head Jailer, not an executioner!"
Shiryu curled his lip in disdain. "Do you still want to stop me from killing people now?"
Magellan hesitated, falling silent once more.
Shiryu was in no rush and waited for Magellan's response.
After gritting his teeth, Magellan said, "This is the first and last time. It won't happen again!"
Shiryu smiled, extending his hand. "Where's my sword?"
Magellan turned away from Shiryu and casually signaled to a nearby jailer.
The jailer, following the order, hurried to the office and soon returned with a long sword, handing it to Shiryu.
As Shiryu grasped the long blade, his murderous aura intensified.
He unsheathed the sword slightly, just enough for the cold blade to glint menacingly, reflecting Shiryu's deranged grin.
