บท 165: 165. Blackmailing

A doctor, clipboard in his hands, reading the file while he entered,

"Paige Smith, our first hub with a person attached..." He mumbled.

Looking up, he was stunned by Anji's thug - like figure. He cleared his throat,

"New here?" 

Anji nodded,

"I was introduced to the staff already."

The doctor looked at Paige Smith's file again,

"Mhm, I must have forgotten. Well, let's start. First we'll take her blood, then we make the various brain scans."

Anji didn't react but patted Paige's forehead soothingly. He was more used to her being unconscious than active.

He was nearly frightened by the vigor she showed yesterday, seeing her body move was something he was utterly unaccustomed to.

But he was glad—glad that this lifeless body was still fighting.

Though he couldn't say it, it didn't feel awful seeing her fight for another man, who was the boy from the television years ago.
