This time, Jane patted him soothingly and nodded fiercely in agreement.

"Then the second thing... if it is okay with you... as long as these people are not behind bars, we would like to let you have at least one person by your side... someone who will protect you."

Lance wanted to think about this, but the apparent worry in his parents' eyes let him nod immediately.
