The meal was harmonious; they asked Lance about his future plans and if he wanted to come home.

Lance was stunned by that question and glanced at Paige.

Paige munched on the food happily and didn't react as he wanted.

Something like tears in her eyes and 'Don't go!'

He was again angry at her and decided to resume throwing pens at her tomorrow. Then he remembered that they luckily sat together, so he would just shake her awake if she wanted to sleep during lessons.

"I would love to, but I want to finish at least this high school year while living here, and then we can talk about it again." He looked at the disappointment in his mother's eyes.

"Is that okay...?"

His mother hurriedly nodded.

"No problem. We have a house here and will live there for a time; we are near so that we can see each other often." She lied smoothly and gave her husband a glance that said,

'Go and buy a house near my son.'
