It's unclear whether it was because Blake had gotten used to the Hulk serum last time or because his body had already undergone significant transformation, but this time, after drinking the so-called Intermediate Super Serum, his body didn't experience any severe pain.
He only felt a mild stinging sensation all over for a few minutes. Compared to the agony he felt last time, this was nothing more than a few mosquito bites.
After consuming the serum, Blake noticed that his body felt more resilient, with his resistance to physical damage likely having improved significantly.
However, in terms of strength, speed, and other attributes, the changes were minimal—he could feel a slight enhancement, but it definitely wasn't more than a 10% increase. The real difference seemed to be within his body, though he couldn't quite describe it.
But since it was touted as a "godly physique," it surely had some unique advantages. Hopefully, when he eventually reached Asgard, this godly physique would bring him some unexpected benefits.
Otherwise, if it were merely an Asgardian body without awakened godly powers, he might as well continue down the path of the Hulk. Of course, that's assuming he didn't care about the lifespan extension.
As it stood, Blake had no divine status or godly power. Unlike Thor, who could summon lightning with his bare hands once his powers were awakened, Blake didn't have such abilities. The Level 3 Mall wouldn't be available until he earned over 10,000 points in total, which seemed like a distant goal.
However, there was a bit of good news: once the mall upgraded again, a portion of the items would become available for purchase to be used by others. Currently, all items were effective only when used by Blake himself.
This eased his worries a bit. If he ended up with a few women in this world, the issue of lifespan would need to be addressed. After all, it wouldn't make sense for him to live for thousands of years while those around him died one by one, leaving him alone—what fun would that be? Even Thor has a fiancée!
After enduring the boring opening ceremony of the Stark Expo, Blake was considering whether to find the "big guy" (Hulk) and mess with him a bit—after all, kids grow up faster with a bit of tough love. But unexpectedly, he received a call from Thor.
"Blake, I need your help. I want to find a job!"
Thor's opening line left Blake puzzled—why would he suddenly want to find a job?
"Alright, no problem with finding a job, but tell me your reason!"
Blake adopted a senior tone, asking with a hint of authority.
"I still can't regain Mjolnir's approval, so I'm just spending my days with Jane. But I'm a man; I can't rely on her for my livelihood every day. You understand what I mean, right?"
Thor sounded a bit embarrassed.
"Is it because you eat too much and she's fed up with it?"
Blake laughed, teasing him.
"No, Jane treats me very well. And yes, I do eat quite a lot. But what I mean is, Jane never asks me to do anything, but I need to learn to support myself. Didn't you tell me that to become the true God of Thunder, I must first learn to live as an ordinary person?"
"I'm trying to learn how to be an ordinary person—working, earning money, taking my girlfriend out for dinner, giving her little gifts and such. You get what I'm saying, right? Blake, you'll help me, won't you?"
Smart kid—beating around the bush with a bunch of reasons, only to reveal that what he really wanted was to be able to take his girlfriend out and buy her gifts.
Of course, as the heir to the throne of Asgard, he needed to have some pride.
Actually, finding him a job wasn't a bad idea—letting him experience the life of ordinary people would help Blake earn some credit when dealing with Odin in the future. But if he really let Thor go to work, and if Loki sent the Destroyer down, innocent people could get hurt.
Although Blake wasn't a saint, he couldn't let innocent people die because of this.
After thinking it over, Blake decided it would be best to go there himself first.
In New Mexico, Black Widow had been assigned a different mission by Nick Fury. Coulson was busy leading a team of scientists, working desperately to study the hammer on the ground.
Thanks to the research data from Jane and her team, they were almost certain that Asgard and the Nine Realms were real. These realms existed somewhere in the universe, interconnected by subtle spatial links that tied the Nine Worlds together.
It's important to note that Jane and her team's research had a scientific basis, so it was far more than just Norse mythology. This realization made Coulson a bit nervous when he saw Blake, as it reminded him of their bet regarding his hair, causing him to act a bit evasive.
Blake didn't mind; it was all in good fun. Besides, his current visit was about taking the "big guy" out to see the world, and he needed some help from Coulson. After all, with the fake documents that Jane's team had made for a few hundred dollars, even a state trooper could easily see through them.
Initially, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s plan was to keep Thor and Jane's team confined to the small town. But considering the research results, if everything turned out to be true, Thor was basically a ticking time bomb. Who knew when he might cause trouble? Having Blake around would actually be safer, despite Blake sometimes being synonymous with trouble—he was undeniably powerful.
"Now, can you finally tell me what the deal is with 177 Bleecker Street?" Coulson asked, steering the conversation back to the mysterious business card after discussing Thor.
The technology behind a spatial teleportation device was a major concern for S.H.I.E.L.D. Whether for assassination or espionage, the ability to control or understand such technology was crucial.
Blake knew exactly what Coulson was thinking. "Let me give you some advice: don't mess with them. They're an organization on Earth with combat strength comparable to Odin, the All-Father of the gods. They're mainly involved because of the 'big guy.' In fact, their leader is more or less friends with Odin."
Coulson, clearly not satisfied with Blake's vague answer, anxiously pressed further, "But this is spatial teleportation we're talking about—you know what that represents, right?"
"I know, and I understand your concern for global safety. But trust me, buddy, they've been protecting the world far longer than you can imagine. So long, in fact, that the last time they elected a leader, the invention of the electric light bulb was still at least a thousand years away."
Blake patted the dumbfounded Coulson on the shoulder, giving him time to process this information, before heading straight to Thor and his group.
"Here's your ID, passport, and bank card. I've deposited $100,000 in there for you—it should cover your expenses while you're on Earth," Blake said, handing Thor a manila envelope.
"$100,000? Why are you giving me money? Just give me a job!" Thor, who had clearly picked up a thing or two about money and Earth's basics during his time with Jane, questioned.
"An old friend of your father's on Earth asked me to look after you, so there's no need to find a job. After all, you're a prince. Spend some time with me and experience the joys and sorrows of the people around you."
"If you insist on calling it a job, consider it as being my personal bodyguard. This is your first month's salary."
