According to Killer Bee's memories in later generations, the relationship between the Two-Tails and Yugito Nii, the Two-Tails' jinchūriki, was better than his own relationship with the Eight-Tails. It must be said that Kumogakure was quite adept at subduing and managing tailed beasts.
But even so, it would have been difficult for a jinchūriki to live in harmony with their tailed beast if it weren't for Matatabi's (Two-Tails) inherently good-natured temperament.
Yet, no matter how mild-mannered Matatabi was, even she couldn't bear Izuna's near-coercive demands.
Izuna wasn't exactly like Madara—his tone was less domineering—but he was still incredibly proud and arrogant. Lowering himself to beg for anything was simply out of the question for him.
ROAR!!!
The Two-Tails, now standing on all fours, unleashed a thunderous roar. The sound waves created a shockwave that tore through the area, uprooting grass and shaking the very earth.
She lifted her right paw and swiped at the ground with force.
Izuna, unfazed, raised his right hand with his index and middle fingers extended.
Body Flicker Technique!
Bang!
The massive paw of the Two-Tails struck the ground, causing a plume of dust and debris to rise into the air. But Izuna had already moved, appearing ten meters away from where he originally stood.
He formed a one-handed seal—a skill Uchiha jōnin elite members were known for, especially in Fire Release techniques.
"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!"
A roaring fire dragon shot from Izuna's mouth, headed straight for Matatabi's enormous body. The red flames enveloped the Two-Tails, their ferocity apparent as they clashed against the beast's natural blue flames.
But within five seconds, Izuna noticed a problem.
Although the flames seemed to burn on Matatabi's body, her innate blue fire acted as a shield, preventing Izuna's Fire Release from causing any real damage. Instead, Matatabi's blue flames began to overpower and consume the red fire.
With another ear-splitting roar, the Two-Tails charged at Izuna.
Izuna dashed toward her, his mind racing. The Two-Tails' abilities reminded him of Phoenix Marco from One Piece, the first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, who also used a blue flame that allowed for near-instant regeneration. Matatabi's flames bore some resemblance to that technique.
He thought briefly about how Hidan and Kakuzu, considered by some as the weakest members of the Akatsuki, had been able to capture Matatabi. Perhaps it was because the tailed beasts couldn't use their full power when sealed inside a jinchūriki, or maybe the immortality and sheer tenacity of Hidan and Kakuzu provided an unfair advantage.
As Izuna pondered this, Matatabi's two flaming tails shot out like meteors, releasing countless blue fireballs that rained down on him.
"Fireball Shower!"
Izuna's Sharingan activated, and through the spinning tomoe, he tracked the trajectory of each fireball. His body moved gracefully, dodging each one as if dancing. However, he soon noticed something strange.
The fireballs, which he had avoided, suddenly changed direction and homed in on him.
"Chakra-tracking flames?"
Izuna narrowed his eyes. "In that case..."
He quickly formed another seal.
"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!"
The fireballs exploded against his powerful technique, their impacts shaking the ground. But Izuna's jutsu managed to offset the worst of the attack.
The massive form of the Two-Tails emerged from the smoke, charging straight at him. Her sheer size and ferocity were enough to terrify an ordinary person into paralysis, but Izuna stood firm.
As Matatabi's flaming tails came crashing down like iron whips, Izuna's lips curled into a slight smile.
"I've been wanting to try this move for a while now."
With a quick hand gesture, Izuna summoned a shadow clone, which jumped away, giving him space. In the meantime, Izuna's right hand began forming a spiraling sphere of chakra, which grew larger and larger.
"Big Ball Rasengan!"
He charged at Matatabi, colliding his massive Rasengan with the beast's claw. For a brief moment, Matatabi faltered, but then her blue flames flared up, overpowering the Rasengan's force.
Bang!
Izuna was sent flying backward, his body hurtling through the air toward a large boulder. Just before impact, he pulled a three-pronged kunai from his pouch and threw it to the ground.
Whoosh!
In an instant, Izuna vanished from the air and reappeared on the ground below, saved by the Flying Thunder God Technique.
What surprised him, however, was that Matatabi didn't immediately press her attack. Instead, she stood there, watching him, before speaking in a voice filled with irritation.
"Leave, human. You are no match for me."
Izuna chuckled, shaking his head. "A mere kitten thinks she can say that to me? I will capture you today."
The Two-Tails roared, her anger palpable. Her tails whipped through the air, releasing an even denser barrage of blue fireballs than before.
Meanwhile, the shadow clone hiding nearby dispelled itself, and in that instant, markings resembling tadpoles appeared around Izuna's eyes.
Sage Mode Chakra activated!
"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!"
"Wind Release: Gale Palm!"
"Lightning Release: Thunderbolt!"
Three separate Izuna shadow clones unleashed three different elemental jutsu simultaneously. The combined power of the techniques was akin to an S-rank jutsu.
The clash between the two forces shook the entire battlefield. Thick smoke covered the area, making it impossible to see.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Suddenly, three-pronged Flying Thunder God kunai flew out of the smoke, hurtling toward Matatabi.
"Shadow Clone Shuriken Jutsu!"
This technique, made famous by Namikaze Minato, was now being used by Izuna. Although Izuna hadn't fully mastered this move, he had been able to replicate it to a high degree of success.
Matatabi watched as the kunai approached, unperturbed. She stomped her right paw into the ground, summoning a wall of blue and black flames to shield herself. The majority of the kunai vanished on impact, revealed as mere shadow clones. The few remaining solid kunai melted into the flames and disappeared.
Just as Matatabi thought the attack had been neutralized, she heard a sound from above. Her eyes widened as she looked up, only to see Izuna standing on the back of a ninja hawk, a gigantic Rasengan in hand, nearly ten meters wide.
Izuna leaped off the hawk, bringing the massive sphere of chakra crashing down toward the Two-Tails.
"Sage Art: Giant Rasengan!"
