Her fingers were still curled tightly around the hilt of her sword, the promise of vengeance running hot through her veins.

As the crowd dispersed, El-Kharis approached her. His presence was a solid force beside her, his towering form casting a long shadow in the dim light. He didn't say anything at first, just stood there, his blue eyes blazing with the same rage that simmered within her. She could feel it, the tension coiling in his body, ready to snap.
