10.79% A Forced Marriage to a Wealthy Billionaire in Town / Chapter 15: Chose Someone Better

บท 15: Chose Someone Better

"Okay! I will help you do that right away." His friend assured him, and then he placed his head right on the steering of his car. He hated it when someone introduced his mother to any kind of conversation.

He hated it so badly, and he realised he had reacted out of anger. He was worried about how much she must have stayed right in the rain, but he didn't bother to do anything.

After a few hours of waiting in the rain right inside his car, he got a message from his friend. It was a video of what had happened.

"You really did badly this time around. You shouldn't have left her in the rain, despite your hatred." His friend complained while he just kicked his lips.

He clicked on the video and then started watching it when he left her in the rain. He noticed that she had spent two hours in the rain. He watched as she stood up in joy when she saw a car coming, and she kept on waving her hand for help.

He saw how disappointed she was after the car pulled up right in front of her. "Was she expecting me?" He questioned himself. He realised that she had entered a car, but the plate number was not clear since it was raining so hard.

He didn't know if that would make him happy or not. He wasn't sure if the person who helped her had noble intentions or not. "I should have calmed my nerves down! I should have come back earlier to help her." He struck his hand right on the car's steering wheel.

He tried her number again, but someone else picked her up. "Are you okay? I saw that someone had picked you up! Send me your address; I'm coming to pick you up." He said it over the phone, unaware that someone else had picked it up.

"You should not have left her in the rain if you cared," she said. "She is really sick right now, and I am going to send you the address once she allows me to." He heard a male's voice right there.

"Please just make sure she is really safe. Thank you very much for helping her." He ended the call without saying anything more. He believed that his voice sounded like Mike's, his younger brother.

Mike stared at Claire when she was sleeping right on his bed in the visitor's room. He made sure to do everything to warm her up, since she was fast asleep already.

"You should have gone for someone who would be able to treat you right." Mike left his phone in the drawer that was right beside her bed and walked out of the room.

He had already fought over who Claire was. It was his brother's new wife. He heard a lot about her in the media. He didn't get to realise that song. He saw his brother's number saved right on his phone.

He pitied her and wanted to speak badly to his brother when he first called, but he held back his anger.

The next morning,

Claire woke up with her head banging so loudly. She realised she was in an unfamiliar room and tried to remember what had happened last night.

"Oh my goodness!" She felt how numb she was all over her body. She managed to stand up when she leapt since she had sprained her ankle. There was a mirror that was right at her side, and she looked into the mirror.

She saw how red her eyes were. "Thank you very much for saving me." She muttered under her breath while she walked out of her room. She was able to walk down the stairs and see a human figure sitting right at the dining table.

"Good morning." She greeted him in order to get his attention. "Hey! How are you doing?" Mike, seeing that she was awake, stood up and walked to where she was.

"I guess you must have sprained your ankle or something! I am so sorry." He started his conversation.

"Oh! Thank you for helping me last night. I don't know how I am going to appreciate you one day." A huge smile appeared on her face, and then he offered his hand to assist her to where the dining table was.

"What about your husband? Has he called you this morning?" While he brought the food he had cooked for her from the kitchen, he questioned her.

"No! It's okay. Don't let us talk about him yet. What is your name?" Claire didn't get to know his name yet.

"Oh! You can call me Mike." He introduced himself to her. Claire saw how adorable and good-looking he was. Except for her husband, it had been a long time since she had seen someone that good-looking.

She noticed Mike's eyes and that her husband looked a little like he saw him. She started eating the food that he had prepared for her. "You are excellent at cooking." She complimented the food that he had made for her.

"I know, right?" Mike answered her.

"Your husband called last night, and I had no choice but to pick up your phone. He asked for your address, and I told him you would tell him yourself." Mike informed her with his face squinting, not knowing if she was going to be angry at him.

"Oh! Thank you very much. At least you didn't make him run mad." Claire burst out into laughter.

"What do you mean by running mad? If he really cared about you, he wouldn't have left you right in the rain," Mike retorted.

"No! I annoyed him at first. I brought his mother into our conversation, and he got angry." She defended him. She didn't know why she was defending him. She was not the type to defend someone, especially someone like him.

"Oh! I understand where he's coming from. I would just go and tell him the address." She informed Mike. Mike was a little bit disappointed by her actions.

บท 16: Sorry

Immediately after she was done with her food, she went back to her room and called Joshua.

Joshua couldn't sleep all night since he was so worried. He didn't even know why he was worried. He didn't know if he was worried because of his wife or because of what his grandfather was going to say, which he could get to realise.

He got a call that brought him back to his reality. He looked towards his phone and realised it was his wife calling. Seeing it, he was shocked for a moment, but he quickly picked it up.

"Claire, is that you?" He questioned her.

"Yes! I'm going to send my address to you right now." She told him and ended the call. She sent the address to him right away.

a few minutes later.

After a few minutes of waiting, Claire heard a horn right in front of the house and then received a text immediately from Joshua announcing his presence.
Mike, who was right in the sitting room, came out immediately. "Welcome here, brother!" Mike shouted so loudly since Joshua was right inside his car.
Joshua was shocked to see his younger brother coming down from the car. He took out his phone to check if he was at the right location. Joshua heard his brother greeting him when he got closer to his car.

Joshua got down from the car, and then he saw the car that his brother had right in the compound. He saw that it really resembled the one that he saw right on the security camera.

"Where is she?" Joshua didn't want anything to do with his younger brother, so he just decided to get straight to the point. Mike chuckled at seeing how his elder brother was acting.

"She should be on her way here by now. What? You didn't want her to know the kind of relationship that we had together? Are you scared that I might get to capture her heart? Or are you scared that she would choose me over you, just like the way your family ditched you over me?" Mike chuckled slightly. He was always fond of trying to instigate a fight between both of them.

Joshua rushed to him and grabbed him by the neck. Be careful, or you'll regret approaching my wife. Don't you dare bring such matters to my attention again, or you will regret it too." Joshua was filled with rage. He hated what his brother had just said.

"Oh! Are you scared I might have to do something awful for her? Are you worried about what might happen to her? I should be worried about the fact that she is with you instead. I don't think she deserves to be with you. I heard that you were forced to get married to her. That means you two don't like each other. That would be wonderful if we got together, right? Mike managed to say, since his elder brother's grip on his neck was actually painful.

Joshua let go of him immediately. "That is not for you to decide! Your family status doesn't give you a say in my life. I would advise you to stay out of my lanes. Try to see if it is possible for her to come to you." Joshua replied to his brother. He then saw his wife coming out of the door and decided to act normally.

"Let me see if she is able to resist me. You should treat her right and not end up leaving her in the rain again. She had a fever and sprained her ankle. You should learn to take care of her well," Mike informed him.

Mike saw the expression on his face, and he could tell that she was already outside, and he just wanted to put on a show.

"Bye! Your help is no longer needed from her." Joshua spoke to him with a huge smile on his face, even though he didn't mean what he was saying.

"Thank you very much for your help. I promised you I was going to treat you to dinner one day. "I see you've already met with my husband." Claire interrupted their arguments without knowing they had argued.

"Yes! Who doesn't know your husband? He is one of the best business people out there! I've heard a lot about him," Mike stated.

"Oh! You have? That is wonderful to hear. I knew he was famous, but I never imagined that you could know him. I will have to go now," she informed him.

Joshua stood there, watching all the drama they were doing right in his presence.

She didn't know the two were related. "Have a nice time with your husband." Mike gave a hug, which made Joshua's blood boil. He didn't know if he was angry because she was his wife, or if he was angry because it was his brother.

Joshua opened the door for her, so she could enter. She didn't bother to greet him or say anything to him.

Claire was giving him the cold treatment again. "Make sure you treat your wife right. She doesn't deserve to be treated that way again," Mike told Joshua as he entered the car. Joshua didn't bother to reply to him.

He ignited the car's engine and then drove off, leaving the environment. I am so sorry for what I did yesterday. I was blinded by my anger." Joshua was the one who broke the silence this time around.

"You don't have to apologise for that. I was the one who annoyed you at first. She cut in. Joshua looked at her in disbelief.

"Do you really mean that, or are you just being cold?" He questioned her, and she then looked at him, making their eyes meet each other.

"Both! I apologise for what I did. I shouldn't have brought someone as special as that into an argument. It was bad, and I already had my lesson." She added.
