...

Lady Setia's frankness surprised Captain Quik greatly.

"Uh... I really didn't expect that."

He didn't know what to say. No wonder Lady Setia mentioned she used to be a sailor at sea. So that's the kind of "sailor" she was.

"Um... which pirate crew were you with?"

Although prying into someone else's past, especially a woman's, felt a bit impolite, curiosity drove Quik to ask this question.

Lady Setia showed no sign of displeasure and said directly, "The Crimson Fang Pirate Crew. Captain, have you heard of it?"

"Oh! The Crimson Fang Pirate Crew! That legendary pirate crew that was talked about every day when I used to be a pirate. Even the infamous pirate Edward who roamed the Northwest Bay came from there before going solo in the Northwest! I heard that the captain, Crimson Fang Gerald, disbanded the pirate crew later and went on an exploration, but then disappeared without a trace."

Quik's eyes were sparkling with admiration.

Suddenly feeling something amiss, he exclaimed, "Wait a minute! Crimson Fang Gerald? Ladia Setia Gerald?"

During their time at Angle Bay, he had learned that the surname of the advisor's daughter was Gerald. Now he realized that the famous pirate leader shared the same surname, and the lady in front of him, Lady Setia, was the mother of Ladia. Moreover, she had served in the Crimson Fang Pirate Crew.

Quik was completely shocked, "Could it be... Could it be that you two...?"

"Haha, you guessed right," Lady Setia chuckled, covering her mouth. "Crimson Fang Gerald is indeed my husband, and Ladia is our daughter."

"This... This is truly unbelievable!"

"After my husband disbanded the pirate crew, our whole family settled in the independent dominion of Messiah at Angle Bay. However, unexpectedly, he went missing during his solo exploration."

With a tinge of sadness on her face, Lady Setia continued, "At that time, my daughter was still young, and I raised her on my own. One of the reasons Ladia grew up to become an adventurer was to inquire about her father's whereabouts. However, after so many years, there have been no clues, and I suppose her desire for that has faded."

Quik said regretfully, "Please accept my condolences, Lady."

The sorrow on Lady Setia's face quickly disappeared. "Thank you, Captain. I have long since adapted to it over the years."

...

"Huh? I remember today only one ship from the navy went out. How come two ships are coming back?"

"You fool! That's the Southern Star! The Southern Star is back!"

"Huh? The Southern Star? It's been so long without any news. I thought..."

As they approached Frand Port, people on the docks quickly recognized the ship returning alongside the Hope—a ship that had set out a month and a half ago to establish a new sea route southward, the Southern Star.

This news quickly spread through the relatively small dock area, and people gathered to witness the return of the Southern Star.

The Southern Star furled its sails and slowly approached the berth. Sailors threw down ropes from the ship, and dockworkers pulled the ropes together, slowly guiding the Southern Star into its berth and securing the ropes firmly to the wooden stakes.

Once anchored, a gangway was set up between the ship and the dock.

A booming voice echoed from the ship:

"Brothers and sisters of the Northwest Bay, your Southern Star has returned! Your Quik has returned!"

Quik was the first to step onto the shore using the gangway, spreading his arms wide and shouting loudly to the gathered crowd.

"Captain Quik, congratulations on your return home!"

Immediately, people who knew him approached and embraced Quik warmly.

Other members from the warship also disembarked one by one using the gangway onto the dock. They were greeted by friends and acquaintances, who bombarded them with questions. The dockside was bustling with activity.

Soon, some individuals ran off to inform the naval headquarters, city hall, and the shipyard.

Thus, Naval Commander Austin led a group of officers, Mayor Theodore led a group of officials, Shipyard Supervisor Rubin, and the old shipwright Benjamin, among others, all arrived at the dock.

"Our heroes!"

Theodore individually embraced Quik, followed by several naval officers and four merchant representatives. The surrounding crowd erupted in cheers, wave after wave.

"You've gone farther than anyone in Alden's history!"

This expedition started from Alden Town and accomplished this "feat," which was enough to go down in history. Theodore couldn't contain his happiness at this achievement during his tenure.

"And all done using full-sail ships, conducting this great 'expedition' from the sea."

Rubin and Benjamin were almost in tears of joy. Their efforts hadn't been in vain. The successful return of Quik and the others proved that the ships they built were not only usable but excellent—a round trip of thousands of nautical miles.

Among the crowd, only Austin remained relatively composed. He encouraged Quik and the others briefly before announcing a day off for all members aboard the Southern Star.

He spotted Advisor Ladia and the people with her and approached them:

"Miss Ladia, I didn't expect your identity to be known. Are these two your family members?"

Advisor Ladia blushed slightly, "Um, apologies for the trouble caused to the navy. Allow me to introduce. This is my mother, Xela Setia, and this is my... my younger sister Lisa."

Austin bowed to the two ladies, "Hello, Lady Seteria. Hello, Miss Lisa."

Both women quickly returned the courtesy, "You are too kind, Commander."

Theodore patted Austin's shoulder.

"Come on, let's head to City Hall and celebrate our heroes! Arthur, inform the chefs we've arranged with those hotels. I want the celebration banquet at City Hall to start within three hours."

One of his officials immediately responded, "Yes, Mayor!" and dashed off like a streak of lightning.

Austin reminded Theodore, "Mayor, don't forget to notify those merchants. After all, Lord Grayman sent the Southern Star to Angle Bay to expand trade activities."

"Of course! How could I forget them? I sent someone to notify them before we came."

Having learned that Advisor Ladia brought her family aboard the ship down south, Theodore extended an invitation to them and promised to send them back to Alden Town the next day with an escort.

With that, everyone surrounded the officers and sailors from the Southern Star, heading together towards City Hall.

At the same time, Theodore didn't forget to dispatch riders on swift horses to Alden Town, ensuring the news of the Southern Star's return reached Lord Alden's hands as soon as possible.
