บท 9: Titus Brunestud vs The All-Father

After being frozen as a statue by him, Titus put all his hostage Valkyries into a cart as he, Rita, and Maximus marched with only a small force consisting of a combination of undead and Roman forces under Maximus' command.

Magnus Maximus was known as the last ruler of Rome of Britannia in the future to come and as the father of King Uther and grandfather of Artoria and Morgan le Fay.

For now, he agreed to ally with him because of the threat of Vortigern and was willing to hunt the remnants of warriors and valkyries sent by Odin to harass him. In exchange, he would deter Vortigern and never allow him to invade his domain as long as he lived. If Maximus died, then the agreement would be void, but this was enough for Maximus to provide stability for his people.

After seeing the decline of the Roman Empire, Maximus, the General of Rome and Governor responsible for overseeing Britannia, wanted to usurp Rome's throne and declared himself as Emperor.

For now, he dared not blatantly say so after he saw the Emperor of Rome's competence in ruling, but when he saw flaws and weaknesses in them, he would declare himself as Emperor without hesitation.

With the sword of the king, Caliburn, in his hand, it was enough for Maximus to be his ally, but Titus knew better that Maximus alone was not enough to deter the Counter Force. Their numbers and allies were numerous compared to his; however, there were many people who hated them at the same time, and he was here to gather all forces that wanted to maintain the Age of Mystery and destroy the Age of Humanity, never letting Alaya win, for no one would bear the good fruit when the Age of Humanity dominated the Earth, except humans.

It was evident how harmful it would be if the Age of Mystery ended for them. It was evident by how magi scrambled for mystery for their own ends, even to the point of buying the body fluids of magi with superior magic circuits to perform magic.

Of course, forming an alliance would be put on the agenda by him later. For now, he focused on defeating Odin and uniting the North first, to form his own empire before focusing on the world.

"Lord Titus, are you sure the threat would be effective and Odin would run with his tail between his legs back to Asgard just because of those Valkyries?" Rita glanced at the Valkyries behind them briefly before shifting her gaze back to her king.

Even though he was a king, his title was Lord. It's traced back to his father, who always wielded the title of Lord rather than King, as all people often called her Lord Brunestud rather than King Brunestud.

"No, he will not." Titus shrugged.

"No matter how eloquent that pink-haired Valkyrie was, she will never be able to convince Odin, and unfortunately for her too, her intelligence seems below average, and her communication skills are not that high. So, putting our hope in her to convince Odin to humiliate himself is impossible."

"So, why do you want her to send the message?" Rita asked in doubt.

"Watch and learn; even one simple action can change everything." Titus schooled her that she shouldn't see everything as it appeared on the surface because everything is always not as it seems.

Undoubtedly, Hildr was the chess piece he planted in Asgard. Even if she hasn't sworn her allegiance to him now, she will in the future.

Moreover, she was the key for Odin to stop hiding himself. He was confident that Odin would come to him, and he would crush him once and for all before he grew into a threat. He was deliberately putting only a small force with him and didn't bring his sisters along so Odin would gain the courage to fight him.

While they talked, Maximus frowned as he felt a growing storm approaching them and looked around warily.

"Lord Titus, I think there is an ambush," he whispered.

"I know." Titus smirked as he spotted an old man with a spear and a red-haired man wielding a mighty hammer. They appeared out of thin air, blocking their path ahead.

"Who are you?" Maximus unsheathed his Caliburn and prepared himself for the worst.

"Have you not recognized us, you punk?"

"I'm Thor, and this is my brother, the All-Father, Odin." The red-haired man with the hammer introduced themselves with an arrogant high pitch in his voice.

"Do you know the price for kidnapping the God King's daughter?"

"It's death!" Thor thundered, his hammer raised high, summoning a furious storm that crackled with divine power.

Odin raised his spear high and hurled it with deadly precision at the blonde-haired man with crimson eyes, who was none other than the King of Vampires, Titus.

However, his strike was met with surprising resistance as Rita, possessing mystical eyes, deflected the spear with her crimson eyes. The spear almost turned to salt, and Odin shows no hesitation to take back possession of his spear after seeing the Mystical Eye of Sodom possessed by the girl.

She stood by Titus' side, ready to defend him with all her might.

Meanwhile, Titus seized the opportunity to appear before Thor. Both locked in a tense and silent confrontation. The air crackled with energy as their wills clashed, ready to unleash their full might upon each other.

The heavens themselves seemed to hold their breath, sensing the impending clash of titans. The forces of nature aligned, and an epic storm gathered above them, crackling with celestial energy. The world around them seemed to blur as time slowed down, and the very fabric of reality shivered as the primal forces of nature and darkness prepared to collide in an unprecedented battle.

The Valkyries lurking in the shadows sprang into action, ambushing the group one by one, but Maximus and Rita stood tall and fought them instead. The ice trapping the Valkyries shattered as they joined the battlefield to help their sisters and strike Maximus and Rita from their defenseless backs.

Rita, taken aback by Lord Titus's warning about her back, grabbed Maximus' collar and summoned walls of vines around them. Every Valkyrie that pounced on them was tied down by vines, and Maximus cooperated with Rita to clean up the battlefield.

The battlefield was now a whirlwind of epic proportions. The Valkyries attacked with incredible speed, but Rita's mystical eyes proved to be a formidable barrier, blocking their advances and stunning them in place as their bodies turned to salt.

Just when it seemed like the overwhelming numbers of Valkyries might overpower them, a massive dragon descended from the skies, and chaos ensued.

The dragon, with its majestic and awe-inspiring presence, began decimating the Valkyries, ensuring their defeat.

A blonde-haired girl, identified as the White Princess by Rita, rode on the dragon's back and displayed exceptional combat skills.

She effortlessly outmaneuvered Odin, whose arrogance had been shattered by her arrival.

With a ferocious kick, she sent Odin tumbling backward and snatched the mighty Gungnir from his hand.

It was a sight that sent shivers down the spines of all who witnessed it.

As the battlefield expanded, another figure joined the fray: the Eclipse Princess, Altrouge. Her black hair flowed like a waterfall as she unleashed her formidable powers. She began draining the life force of the fallen Valkyries, transforming them into Dead Apostles, her minions.

The power she exhibited was terrifying, and her cold and calculated demeanor sent a chill through the air.

She spotted Brynhildr's location, slammed her to the ground, bit her neck, and transformed her into her kind.

Thor, sensing that the tide had turned against them, chose to retreat, taking two Valkyries along with him.

The storm gathered around them as they left the battlefield, acknowledging that they were no match for the combined might of these new adversaries.

Odin, his eyes ablaze with fury, stared at the blonde-haired girl with a mix of anger and admiration. He had underestimated her, and now Gungnir was in her possession.

With one last intense gaze at the spear, he transformed into a crow and flew away into the horizon, leaving the battlefield behind.
