บท 16: Chapter 16: Making News

What happens when a bartender temporarily takes on the role of club manager?

Martin would tell anyone asking that you're never too old to party!

In the club's staff lounge, Martin received a text from Elena and pushed open the locker room door to enter.

Led by Hart, the group of hunks was preparing for the evening's performance.

Martin banged on the door and shouted, "Big stars, are you ready? Here's some good news for you: a large crowd will be coming tonight. If you perform well, the club's business will boom, and you'll be swimming in tips!"

Hart asked, "Can it really be as good as you say?"

Martin, full of confidence, replied, "The number of customers will at least double and so will your earnings!"

Another hunk, Carrington, whistled and said, "Man, you better be right, or we'll drag you on stage to perform."

Martin said seriously, "You can doubt my character but not my credibility! Carrington, you're done for. I swear, Old Bruce will toss you into the Atlantic."

The others laughed heartily.

Martin raised his voice again, "Guys, show off all those dance moves you've practiced. Let everyone see what being Popeye means! If you don't, I'll have Bruce tell everyone on West Street that the hunks from Beast House are a bunch of wimps."

Hart laughed and said, "Don't worry, we won't give you that chance."

Martin flipped the bird behind his head as he walked out, circled backstage, and entered the hall to find Monica at the bar.

She was Elena's friend, a curvy Latina girl.

Martin asked, "How's it going?"

Monica quickly replied, "This is such a good free opportunity; the people I brought won't miss it. It's free, after all."

Martin glanced at the quartz clock behind the bar and said, "Ten minutes."

Before leaving, Monica blew Bruce a kiss.

Martin noticed Bruce staring at Monica's back and asked, "You fancy her?"

"I'm a gentleman," Bruce said, downing a cold beer.

Martin emphasized, "I know, you're a gentleman."

...

Ten minutes later, Elena and Jennifer bought two tickets and entered Beast House together.

Seeing Elena, Martin had someone notify the hunk group to go on stage. As the energetic music played, the hunks performed a dynamic dance for all the customers.

The whole place immediately came alive.

Jennifer noticed many people forgot their family responsibilities and how they should behave within their families, throwing money crazily onto the stage.

Degeneracy, degradation--society in Atlanta was descending into a moral abyss.

Jennifer and her like-minded friends were tirelessly trying to stop this decline.

Yet, the moral issues in American society were becoming increasingly serious.

After less than half an hour, Jennifer said to Elena, "Let's go."

Elena followed her out of Beast House.

Jennifer said, "You go home first. I have to go to the Atlanta headquarters."

Elena nodded. After Jennifer drove away, Elena got into Martin's Ford.

Not long after, Martin came out of the club and got into the car too.

Elena said, "She's very angry and went to the headquarters."

Martin patted Elena's shoulder, "Keep in touch with her."

...

On Saturday afternoon, Martin was practicing facial muscle control in front of the mirror at home when he suddenly received a call from Ivan saying that people had started gathering across from the club.

Martin grabbed his car keys and left after informing Elena, then called Bruce and Little Blondie.

When he arrived at West Street, Martin saw crowds of people of different ages gathering along both sides of the road, converging on the wide sidewalk opposite the club, many holding posters and other items.

Jennifer and other core members of the Methodist Association were experienced.

In Beast House's porch, Martin threw his jacket onto a chair and asked, "What's the situation?"

Bruce peeked outside and said, "More people are coming--I estimate there will be 200 people."

"Who has a phone with call recording?" Martin asked.

Ivan said, "I do, and so do Blondie, Hart, and Carrington."

Martin made a quick decision, "Old Bruce, find all the hotline numbers we've collected and call the media reporters. Tell them there's big news here, and make sure to turn on the recording during the call. No one should miss our news tips reward!"

Ivan's eyes widened as if he saw stacks of cash, "I'm willing to call you Boss Martin!"

Bruce grabbed Martin's shoulder and reminded him, "Fake news doesn't get rewards."

Martin took out his phone and said, "Old gentleman, you underestimate the new civilized era."

He found Fatty Andrew's number in his contacts and dialed, quickly getting through, "Mr. Andrew, it's me, Martin. I noticed something on West Street and thought I'd give you a call."
