CHAPTER 21 - ANITA VS DANIEL (2)

She was shocked, with the items the smoke is made up of it was basically impossible for you to see in the smoke the first time you encounter it even for awakeners.

The only person who could see in the smoke at this moment that she knew was herself and her master, but here she saw Daniel clearly looking at her.

Daniel looking at her was confused, isn't the smoke supposed to hurt, I can't even feel anything.

Not distracting himself, using her arm he picked her up and threw her at the ground again, but Anita wasn't willing to be done.

As she hit the floor, she felt Daniel dragging her arms again, he held her about to throw her to the ground again, but she quickly flipped and kicked his stomach making him release her.

Her bow wasn't with her and her daggers were on the floor with Daniel blocking them.

"How're you able to see in the smoke," she asks.

"I don't know, just kinda opened my eyes and I could see, is something wrong," he replied.

Hearing his words she knew Daniel had an immunity towards the items used to make the smoke.

Immediately she threw a left jab at him and kicked his legs aiming to sweep him off his feet.

Her attacks failed, as Daniel stood as sturdy as a mountain not even her licks moved him.

She continued throwing kicks and punches trying to distract him so she could pick her daggers back as she was in an unfavorable situation.

The smoke gradually cleared from the stage, since she knew the smoke couldn't affect him there was no need to continue attacking with the smoke.

The crowd was gradually able to see the ongoing fight, Anita's bow was at the edge of the stage, her daggers were in different areas, and she was in the middle of the stage fighting with Daniel.

She was relentless releasing five to six punches a second, the crowd was amazed at the speed of her punches.

But her opponent just stood in one place not moving a step at all, what he did was just block or party her attacks and stand his ground.

Daniel sent out a punch with a wind following after, Anita dodged the punch but moved back a lot.

The power behind that punch was horrible, if she had been hit with that one punch she would have lost.

Daniel on the other hand admired her speed, the reason he had been allowing her to hit him was to accumulate energy.

Every time she landed a hit, he controlled the force through his body, keeping a part in himself and sending the rest to the floor through his legs.

The energy in his body gradually accumulated, allowing him to unleash that level of strength for some moment.

Although he had strength, it was a little lacking he was finding a way to gradually accumulate power in his body without getting hit, as that would be a breakthrough in his technique.

I had some hints but I couldn't figure it out right now, so I focused back on the fight.

Anita used that chance to collect one of her daggers back, she felt like an ant trying to fall a hill.

Her strength couldn't even shake it, she felt like she was staring at a boundless mountain.

She didn't give up because she had an ace left in her sleeve, something only the higher-ups in the city knew, it was a closely guarded secret.

Their path was flawed, the path of warriors was flawed.

After countless years of studying and researching, the warrior path was found to be flawed.

It wasn't even them who found this shocking piece of information, it was brought by their people that came to recruit talent for the main cities.

The path was known to take and expend large resources and their strength would come out as subpar, a new path had been found, the path of elementalists or mages.

Their strength easily dwarfed the strongest warriors, even at the beginning stage, so since then that path had been cut off.

Geniuses would be recruited from every city each year and have their talent tested to see if they could become mages or elementalists.

Those who didn't have the talents either went back to their own city or stayed and worked in the main city.

Her master was from one of the main cities, he had been chasing a monster in the sea when he had ended up coming here.

It was the sea monster that floated ashore, the damage was done by her master.

When she knew that she was both shocked and happy, she was told that she had peerless talent which was why he recruited her as his disciple.

And in just two weeks she went from being below average to being one of the top in their academy and she hadn't even started the mage training.

Due to her relentless training, she unlocked a power-up.

Every time she entered that state her speed was doubled, and her strength was increased a little, in that state her mind was clear as glass and could focus on anything, but she could just enter that state for five minutes at the moment and after that, she would be very weak.

Her master said it was due to her awakening spiritual energy, another sign of her being a peerless genius, and if she were to hone it she would be a feared mage as she grew.

She was told tales that weren't released to the public, how they could move elements to their will, and some could even control those monsters with their spiritual energy.

She imagined herself leading a horde of monsters to fight a war as those words were told to her.

"Do not be complacent although you have peerless talent, there have been many more before you and countless would exceed you and to keep your place at the top you would have to work hard, so hard that they would only be able to look at your dust," she remembered the words her master told her on the first day.

Keeping calm and regaining her focus, she entered that state as she was about to truly begin fighting.
