บท 12: LEAVING
The next day came as expected,which was normal but not in MARVEL verse.Everything was normal or as normal it could be in Anthony's home.
Thomas was still busy with all the legal work and as he also went to the banks for taking loans which was hard as people are still thinking that it would be a loss.
Honestly,the Dot-com bubble made things harder and easier.It made taking loans and funds harder but also made the buying of companies easier.
Speaking of buying, Thomas thought of buying a super computer and servers for his grandson as a congratulation gift for all the things he had done as a normal gift won't suit him.
It may seem like he was doing all the work,but his grandson was the one who should take the credit.
All the work he was doing can be done by others for money,but he doubts that his grandson would allow another person to do it due to his over cautiousness.
Thomas thought as he was relaxing in the living room.
He couldn't do that because his room became a Office room with a bed from Bedroom with a office.
His relaxing time was broken as he saw his daughter come down stairs.
Seeing his daughter coming down was a normal occurrence but not when she is carrying luggage.
He went towards her as he wanted to ask his daughter what all this was about.
But Clara beat him to it as she greeted him first.
"Good morning,father".
She said as she kept the luggage near the sofa in the living room.
"What is this all about,dear?".
Asked Thomas concernedly.
"OHH,I'm going to live in the dorms for students as I will attend the college from day after tomorrow".Said Clara.
"But you have said that you would go to college from the house,remember?".Said Thomas as he raised his brow at her sudden change of mind.
"I know father,but I will be able to concentrate more on studies and complete my graduation with more credits".Replied Clara as she looked away from her father.
Thomas just sighed at her attempt to lie as he thought she could have done better.
He abruptly stopped his musings as he seemed to have guessed what this is about.
He still wanted to confirm his guess as he asked a question or more of a probing.
"So,have spoken to Anthony about it?".
Clara seemed to be at a loss of words as she stammered.
"N...No,father.....I will call him later or I will be late".
"He will understand.....".
Murmured Clara as even she couldn't believe what she was saying much less Anthony.Nonetheless she still was adamant on her decision.
Thomas just sighed as he understood what she was feeling,But he couldn't do anything about it.
"Is this your decision?,you may regret about not thinking twice about it".
"Yes father". Clara said with conviction in her voice.
Thomas didn't continue about it anymore as they talked for some time before departure.
As Clara was halfway through the door,she spoke.
"Take care father,and him too". As she closed the door.
Thomas was feeling sad that his daughter was leaving for a while but still proud as she wanted to fight even knowing that she can't win.
Sadly it was not the physical difference this time to call it unfair for woman, but a mental one.
Clara may not say it but he as a father understood that his daughter was overwhelmed by the excellence of Anthony.
She found it hard to know that Anthony can beat her in terms of knowledge if not already.
He did't even completed his school but was already trying to develop his own company.
He even created his own Operating System(OS) like Windows when his main focus was on a FREAKING AI( artificial intelligence).
It was completely understandable to be shocked by his monstrous talent when he is still a 7 year old.
........
Mean while Anthony was seen taking a shower.
He has already woken up when Clara was packing her things.
He was not a deep sleeper before and not so much of it even now.
His paranoia has already alerted him of the sounds and movements to wake him up.
Honestly it was becoming like a sort of spider sense but more of cautiousness.
Anthony also understood a little about what was happening.
Decades of living would be a waste if he didn't even understand this much.
Clara was feeling overwhelmed and she wanted to try to prove it wrong and also stay away from the source of that feeling.
Anthony was at the steps to downstairs as he heard the father and daughter conversation.
Anthony returned to his room after confirming his hunch.He was feeling many things as he contemplated about it.
He was happy for her but disappointed nonetheless as she couldn't confront him about it.
May be she will talk about it in the future,but not now,not today.
Anthony came out of his shower as he tried to remove all these thoughts as he still has a lot of work to do and even a school to attend to.
Anthony went down stairs for breakfast as he met his grandfather.
Thomas didn't say anything as he knew that Anthony already knew what had happened.
"I know it's unfair to leave without a word but you have to understand what she was feeling during this whole time".
Said Thomas as he didn't want the bond between Clara and Anthony to break.
Anthony put down the spoon he was eating with as he answered.
"I understand grandpa,....I'm just a little sad that's all".
Thomas just sighed as he knew that Anthony was a little sad but more disappointed nonetheless.It would have been hard to notice all these details if you don't know him well.
Thomas didn't continue about this topic anymore as they talked about other things.
After a while, Thomas went to his room as he still has papers to check and calls to make.
He was thinking of buying an studio for the office temporarily but it will have to wait as their budget is still tight.
Anthony also walked towards the basement as the still has things to learn and and codes to improve.
His main focus was on SEER as it would make a lot of things easier if the next phase of it is done.
Anthony was a little distracted for the whole day.
No matter how unaffected his calm face was,his mind was always going towards Clara.
He slowly got up from the modified but crude computer as he decided to take a break.
He was not the one to take a break in the middle but today he couldn't seem to concentrate on work at all.
'I guess I still miss her'.Thought Anthony as he sighed in annoyance.
He was annoyed that he couldn't do his work and mostly importantly because Clara didn't talk about her problem.
He knew she was going to leave some time but never once he thought she would not say word to him.
He thought they were close enough for atleast saying googbye.
Anthony just laid on the bed in the lab as he closed his eyes.
He knew the real reason for what he is feeling.It's not about bidding farewell,it's about talking her problems to him.
'Heh,who would say their problems to a 7 year kid'.He thought sarcastically.
He laid there for a while as he thought things through.
'Well no use moping around.She did what she taught was right and Who am I to judge her decisions'.
'Let her do what she want's to and I start doing my own things'.
Anthony got up from the bed as he settled his thoughts.
He walked toward the screen as he asked Seer.
"Seer,estimate how much time would it take for your upgrade".
[On it,sir]
[Calculating...]
[Estimated time:9 months 12 days]
"Damn!, that's will take a hell lot of time to happen huh".
He thought outloud.
'Let's do this'
Thought Anthony as he cheered himself up.
And like that,time passed by,days became weeks and weeks became months.
Many this happened in this time.
Stark weapons became a hit once again.
Google was taking the internet like a storm.
Anthony celebrated his birthday with Seer as his grandpa was outside the country for a purchase.But he was still happy when he got a news from the old man.
He was so excited about it that he was basically grinning the whole day.
