บท 95: Not Worthy

Scarlet was humiliated. 

She did not know how her perfect image had crumbled within a single night. She evaluated everything that happened and came to a simple conclusion. Leila was responsible for her humiliation. 

This matter began when she kindly approached Leila when she saw her in the restaurant. It was not a place a country bumpkin could afford, so her guess that she was selling herself to men was reasonable.

Moreover, the girl had not been home and could not have any other place to stay within Lake City. 

Of course, Scarlet did not know that Leila had an apartment within the city. Neither Amelia nor Holly were anxious to let anyone know that the village girl had money. 

If they did, it might raise Leila's profile, making it impossible to remove her from their life. Also, it was embarrassing that an adopted granddaughter had more property than the biological children.
