"Nina!" Penny skidded to a halt when she saw Nina seated on the bench outside the emergency surgery room.

Turning at the sound of Penny's voice, Nina's eyes brimmed with tears as she rose. "Penny," was all she could say as she rushed into Penny's arms. "Penny… what am I going to do?"

"Nina," Penny breathed out, her heart thudding as she rushed in the moment she received Nina's call. Stroking Nina's back, she huffed and snapped her eyes to the emergency door behind Nina. "It's okay, Nina. It's okay."

"Penny… What am I going to do? What if something terrible happened? I can't forgive myself!"

Just earlier today, Nina had been with Finn, and the outcome hadn't been particularly good. Despite their separation, she had never intended to wish him anything terrible. Even so, her heart was filled with not just worry but also guilt.
