บท 6: Helpful Slime
(Main Protagonist's Pov)
The cave is huge in terms of area since I was roaming around the different locations of this cave but still unable to find the person I was looking for. Now I'm standing and thinking on what choice should I make so that I could find him.
"Hmm....What should I do?" I muttered.
"Hello there young boy, are you lost here?" A sudden voice came.
"Uh..."
When I found the source of the voice then I found a slime in front of me. I immediately draw out my weapon and pointed it towards the slime.
"Wow wow calm down calm down! I'm one of the monsters who doesn't attack humans please put your weapon back!" exclaimed slime.
"Oh, is that so?"
I put my weapon back and asked a question again.
"I see, I won't attack you but please don't try to stab me from behind or something." I said.
"Trust me, I may be a monster but humans really are good and I don't want to hurt anyone of them." replied slime.
"Hmm, okay if you say so." I trusted it's word.
There are basically two types of monsters in this world that I had experienced so far. One, that never speak and lack intelligence. Second, that can speak and doesn't lack intelligence. The second category monsters are intelligent but not enough to compete with human level and most of them still continue to oppose humans because that is just their nature or they may have their own reasons as well.
However, there are good monsters among these two categories as well who are really good and doesn't have any evil intentions to hurt humans regardless of their intelligence level.
This slime looks to be one of them as well.
"So, back to the question. Are you lost here? If yes, I'm willing to help you since I am familiar with this cave as I live here."
"Not at this rate because I already memorized the map of this cave. So basically I can return to the entrance whenever I want but still thanks for considering helping me." I replied while geniunely thanking him.
"I see, pretty smart kid."
"Ah!"
"Hm? Did something happen kid?" asked slime
He knows the location very well and I was also wondering whether he saw someone passing by this cave or not.
"Um, did you happen to see anyone here? I am actually looking for someone." I asked.
"I see, so that is why you came in this cave. Hmm, let me think... Aha! Now I remember! I did really saw someone who came to the cave. Its seemed as though he was looking for something here. Perhaps it was herbs or some useful stuff."
"Really! Can you lead the way please. I need your help with this one. It is a little bit hard for me to find him on my own so I need your help." I said.
"I am not sure but that man never came out from this direction however, just go through this direction and you may him. I will lead you the way so that it would be helpful for you a little." said slime.
We agreed and ventured further into this cave. The slime saved a lot of time since he was able to guide me while explaining me that some of the path are blocked either by rocks or river.
We arrived at a location where we found a man who is currently trying to avoid the boss monster's attack.
"We found him! He must be the one and I can even see those herbs strapped on his back side." I said.
"Um, we should probably focus on saving him perhaps." said slime.
"Yeah, can you help me fight the monster."
"You must be kidding me, are you planning to fight that monster! You will die and not just you but also me as well!"
"Don't worry, we will surely win. My dad said, never give up!" I said.
"You have some serious mental issues, right?" asked slime as it looked terrified because of the monster.
"I heard that slime monsters can use heal magics, all you need to do is heal me. That's all and you don't have to fight."
"Oh is that so? *Phew* .....But still! I can't let you fight it! We should just focus on saving that man who is running here and there for his life!" exclaimed slime.
"Come on, please."
".....*sigh* fine, but don't just die and run away when you think you can't handle it." He thought carefully at first as he wanted to stop me but he gave up on it and agreed on what I am going to do.
"Okay then, let's do it."
"Oh, someone save me!" said man.
"Don't worry just hide behind something else and I am going to turn that monster's attention to me!" I suggested him to go and hide.
"What!? What the hell is a kid doing here!"
"Please, hurry up!"
"No I can't let yo- eekkk!"
The monster was still chasing him but then the man finally hide himself. The monster's attention is now focused on me."
The monster is holding a digging fork weapon (that is used in farms by farmers) in it's hands and it's appearance- a green coloured monster, skinny, red eyes.
"Here it comes!" I exclaimed, getting ready for the battle.
The monster dashed towards me and tried to thrust the weapon to inflict damage but I moved aside. Then I gave hard hits with the rocks that were not so big in size as I was easily able to throw them.
It was enraged now and tried to rush towyme again but then I used the sands against it's eyes. The monster got blind and struggled to see anything. I took the opportunity and struck the monster with my wooden sword.
The monster fell down on the ground but it stood up quickly and is able to see everything now since the dust is removed from it's eyes.
