The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a warm, golden glow over the bedroom. I woke up feeling more energized than I had in weeks.

The excitement of the upcoming hiking trip with Carmen filled me with a sense of anticipation I hadn't felt in a long time. Turning over, I saw Carmen still asleep beside me, her face relaxed and peaceful. I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

Gently, I slipped out of bed, careful not to wake her. I moved to the window and pulled the curtains open wider, letting the full light of the morning fill the room. The day promised clear skies and perfect weather for our adventure.
