The soft, warm light of morning gently stirred me from my sleep. I opened my eyes to see Carmen still sleeping beside me, her face serene and peaceful. The previous day at the spa had been transformative, peeling away layers of tension and fear that had clung to me like a second skin.

As I watched Carmen sleep, I felt a growing sense of comfort and security. Her presence was a balm, and my love for her was a fierce, unyielding force that seemed to grow stronger with each passing day.

I slipped out of bed quietly, not wanting to wake her. As I padded softly to the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My reflection showed a woman who was beginning to heal, her eyes brighter and her posture more relaxed.
