บท 52: Chapter Fifty One: Banging Another Woman?

Ciara's POV

My mouth agape, I struggled to find the words my mind wasn't processing, standing frozen.

"What?" I managed.

"Ciara," he called me so calmly, as if his voice lacked the same seriousness that his words carried. "Did you steal my check?"

Shaking my head vehemently, I denied, "What? No, I didn't, of course not. Check? What check? Why would I steal from you? How is that even possible?"

With that same unsettling calmness, he let out a scornful huff and hurled my phone towards the edge of the bed - not hard, but enough to cause it to fall off.

However, it didn't slip to the floor, and I scurried to catch it into my grasp. With my brows furrowed in confusion at what he might have seen to conclude I stole from him, my darting eyes landed on the screen, to a message from my bank. My bank had been suspended and under investigation, and I was being requested to visit the bank for further questioning.
