Lily was standing before an ice cream shop, her eyes scanning the menu. She was feeling a bit down lately. With the Ministry finally taking action against Voldemort's forces, the Order was also moving behind the scenes to gather intel and prepare for the upcoming battles. But this left her with little time to spend with her friends. James and Sirius were dispatched to monitor the Death Eater's movements, and everyone was just too busy. Today, she came to pick up some raw materials and decided to grab some food.
No matter how hard she tried to hide her feelings, the sadness still lingered in her heart. The real reason she was feeling down and lonely was thanks to someone else.
'I wonder if things will change once this is all over... You could have at least said goodbye or something... A kiss maybe, before disappearing, Ryan.' She sighed. 'I should really stop thinking about him,' Lily shook her head, her green eyes flashing with resolve. But Lily couldn't really forget their first time. Everything felt so perfect. She could still feel his scent and touch lingering on her skin.
Lily missed him, but she had no idea where he went. Everyone is speaking about how Ryan and Bellatrix are working together for some reason. But she saw Ryan severing Bellatrix's arm and helping them capture her, so why would he work with a Death Eater, she wondered. All the little bit of information she gathered on Ryan was that he became a wanted man for a few days when the Aurors suddenly pulled back and decided to erase all his traces.
Her mind snapped back to reality when a waitress brought over her order. "Thank you," she smiled and handed her the coins. She sat on the bench on the side of the road. As she was eating, she felt like someone was staring at her from afar. She looked around, trying to maintain her composure. But nothing worth noting, there were a bunch of people passing by, and some Aurors patrolling the area. Her eyes suddenly met with a young man, who was looking at her from the restaurant across the street. He wore a simple black robe, round glasses, and a weird-looking scarf. But as their eyes met, he looked away toward his companions, talking and laughing.
'Haaa... I'm being paranoid,' Lily thought as she let out a sigh and continued to eat the ice cream.
...
[Back to Ryan]
"That redhead girl..." Bellatrix started. "Lily Evans. She was a target back then... You saved her back then."
"Yeah, it's been a while," Ryan replied nonchalantly. He tried to forget about Lily and Puddifoot and put all his focus on his revenge and power, but somewhere down the line, he kinda missed them. Although they spent very brief moments together, it was special nonetheless.
"You two were close?" Narcissa asked, noticing Ryan's expression.
"Yeah. You can say that." Ryan chuckled. "But I guess, fate had other plans for us."
Bellatrix stayed silent, 'They were close? How close?' Her mind began to conjure strange scenarios. Lily Evans wasn't ugly, she was beautiful and charming. For a moment, Bella compared herself to Lily Evans. She was indeed a beauty, but compared to Lily, she felt inferior somehow.
"How close?" Bellatrix couldn't help but ask. She just had to know the level of their relationship and then depending on that, she'd work her way up to Ryan's heart.
"Does it matter?" Ryan stared at Bellatrix. "Why are you asking anyway?" He smirked. "Jealous much?"
Bellatrix blushed, unable to come up with a reply. She could only stutter, "No... I... I mean... I'm not jealous. Just asking. That's all."
"Well, if you must know... We shared a special moment together and it was her first time at that. So, yeah, it was kinda special for both of us, I guess."
Bella's eyes widened in shock, "You two did it?! I... No, never mind. It's not my place to question you..." She immediately shut her mouth, not daring to utter another word. Her jealousy began to boil. 'That bitch! Arggg! I want him to make me feel special too... Damn it! Bella! Get a grip!' Bellatrix mentally cursed as she calmed herself down.
Ryan noticed her reaction, "Oh! What? Did I hit a nerve? Hahaha..." He laughed at Bellatrix's expression.
Narcissa remained silent throughout the whole interaction. She knew her sister was obsessed with Ryan and now she saw him teasing her with Lily, but she couldn't find any hint of malice in his words. He genuinely seemed to enjoy Bellatrix's reaction.
"It's okay, Bella," Ryan patted Bella's shoulder. "I told you already, you are special to me. Besides, remember you wanted me to have Narcissa in my harem? Hmmm? So, why are you getting jealous over Lily?"
"Stop teasing her, please," Narcissa interjected, her voice stern. "And don't talk nonsense. Anyway, don't you want to at least talk to her? Since you guys are... Well, close?"
Bellatrix frowned at Narcissa's comment. 'Special to Ryan? Special?! I want to be his number one! Not just second fiddle...' She huffed, crossing her arms in annoyance. A thought of killing Lily crossed her mind, but since her master loved her, she couldn't do that and get on his bad side.
Ryan glanced toward Lily again. He even pondered on meeting her and chatting for a bit but... "Nah... Why bother? I'm sure she moved on by now." He shrugged.
"Girls are complicated creatures, their hearts are even more complicated," Narcissa said wisely.
The waitress brought their food and drinks, interrupting their conversation.
"Here you go!" She placed the dishes on the table. "Enjoy!"
Ryan dug in as soon as he saw the food. The mystery sandwich was delicious. Even though he tried to maintain a careless attitude, the thought of Lily and Puddifoot haunted him. Maybe it was true that love makes one weak. He may be powerful and has a dragon under his command and an army of beasts and undeads, but deep down, he is still human... A soul in another body, but still human. And emotions like love, hatred, anger, and others are part of being human. If he didn't feel such emotions, he wouldn't have cared about Lily and Puddifoot. He tried to push those thoughts aside, but they kept coming back like a boomerang.
Narcissa kept looking at him sternly without speaking a word.
"Fuck! Alright, fine!" Ryan groaned in defeat. "I'll go and meet her. Happy now?" He took a sip of lemon fizz. "Just hope, she doesn't slap me in public."
"Good luck," Narcissa smirked. She knew men hate it when girls meddle in their business, especially with 'women' problems. But she knew Ryan needed a little push in the right direction. After spending time with him and getting to know him up close, Narcissa started to look at Ryan differently. He can be cold and ruthless, but there is a caring and gentle side to him too. He wasn't the monster that she thought he was, but more of a person with many facets.
Bellatrix smirked as she took a bite of her dragon steak. She hoped Lily Evans would slap Ryan in front of everyone, so he'd get embarrassed and return to her.
Ryan glanced at Bella. "I know what you are thinking." He narrowed his eyes. "I'll spank you later and it's gonna be painful. You can count on it."
She almost choked on the steak. Her face turned beet red as she grabbed the glass of water and gulped it down.
"Well... Enjoy your lunch while I go and face my doom," Ryan rolled his eyes as he stood up. "Don't follow me. I mean it. Stay here." He pointed at Bellatrix. "Behave yourself. Or else..." He said threateningly before walking away.
After Ryan left, Narcissa looked toward Bella, "So, spanking, huh?! I thought you were a sadist, but you are actually a masochist?" She snickered.
"Shut up!" Bellatrix snapped. "What do you know about that?!"
"More than you think..." Narcissa giggled.
"Yeah, right. Lucius was too busy to fuck you, so you must have some fun with your books and toys, or did you go to a brothel to quench your thirst?" Bellatrix shot back.
"Very funny... But unlike you, I'm not desperate for cock," Narcissa scoffed.
"I'm a pure virgin, Cissy. A PURE VIRGIN."
"Yeah, right."
"Believe it or not. I am. I'll give it to him..."
"Sigh! Whatever. Let's just eat and watch the show outside," Narcissa gestured toward Lily who was sitting outside on the bench.
Ryan walked out of the restaurant and glanced around. Lily was sitting near the ice cream shop, eating ice cream. She was alone. He could see her tired face, she looked really worn out. Ryan thought whether he should approach her or leave it be.
"It's now or never," He sighed, deciding to walk over to Lily.
