One should know that the narrow bridge across the river was 50 metres behind the waterfall.
Virtya wanted the labourers to push the the long H beam towards the overhang so that they could slowly push the steel towards the horizontal trenches on the steep sided gorges of the waterfall but will they be successful or the volume of the river will overwhelm them and push the H beam into the plunge pool?
This 40 metres interconnected round H beam that will ensure the stability of the axle will be lay on the surface of the undercutting but it will be parallel to the axle.
The workers managed to push the H beam over the bridge because it was easy for the long H beam to roll over the bridge.
The rain made the bridge slippery but fortunately, even if there were some of the workers who stumbled and almost fell into the river, they were lucky because they were still gripping the ropes tied around the H beam which ensure that they jumped back onto the bridge so that they could not overwhelm other workers with their added weight onto this H beam.
Virtya had also asked the workers to tie many thick ropes around this H beam steel. These ropes would be used by the workers as they hold onto them so that the H beam would not escape from their grip.
"Osip, I need another 40 workers. Assemble them here quickly!" Virtya ordered angrily. It seemed having working for long hours was also turning his mood sour.
Osip didn't slack off and quickly came back with fourty workers who stood under the drizzle respectfully as they awaited Virtya's orders.
"Divide yourselves into two groups with each group having 20 individuals and then you will help those workers to pull that H beam towards the overhang." Virtya said to the 40 workers without turning to look at them. His eyes were glued at the workers who were now helpless at what they should do next.
The workers had managed to push the long interconnected H beam over the bridge but one end of the steel slithered into the river before it sank to the riverbed, but the other end of the steel didn't sank into the river as it hanged onto the bank of the river, the workers' hands could be seen trembling because the huge volume of the river was threatening to carry away the long H beam, but the workers gritted their teeth and struggled to keep it where it was with the help of the ropes that they were using to pull the H beam to be in place.
At last, when the new 40 workers joined them, they reduced the strain and allowed the H beam to roll slowly towards the overhang. However, when the H beam was 5 metres away from the makeshift bridge, the ropes' lenghth was not able to go on anymore because these ropes were only 6 meters long.
Virtya ordered the workers to abandon the ropes tied at the middle of the H beam and use the ropes that were tied close to the ends of this interconnected H beam..
Just like that, the workers trudged on the muddy bank of the river while holding dearly onto the ropes, close to ten workers queued on a single rope while pulling it over and with this, they controlled the movement of the H beam until it reached across the overhang, here, the workers put in much effort and it could be seen that their legs lodged deeply into the muddy bank of the river while they leaned back slightly with their faces scrunched up as they allowed the interconnected round steel to roll slowly downwards in the waterfall. The round steel had to maintain a slanting position because it was wider than the wideness of the waterfall.
"This!"
"Virtya rubbed the back of his head with an awkward expression. This was truly not his work because he had made many mistakes that would need him to go back and make corrections. But Virtya was not to be blamed because if he was not in a hurry to roll out this mechanism earlier, he would have come up with a better plan.
