Coal was used to power the furnace while huge man powered bellows were used to deliver preassurized hot air of control amounts into the furnace and from there, the obtained molten iron was poured into the moulders to make the steel of required shapes and then the steel items were submerged into water to cool them.
Virtya had ordered the blacksmiths to make the H - beams, I - beams, metal sheets, steel plates, steel channels, square steel, angle steel, round steel, deformed re-bar and perforated sheets.
But why did Virtya want to construct a cement plant? As one should know, the main reason as to why Virtya needed cement that much was because he wanted to construct a dam in Chanya. He could not just construct a dam with mud because for a dam, strong reinforcements were needed to make it. Likewise, Virtya would use cement to build affordable houses for homeless denizens of Polkok district, not to mention that his palace and the old blacksmithing guild needed a new makeover. In addition, Virtya promised his people on the city square in Whiten that he would build the skyscrapers to reach the high skyline like those in Hong Kong and New York in his past life. He could also sell the cement to other kingdoms like Ugley where the diplomatic ties with them was good.
"The first and the second batch of steel has already been transported to Pollow district." Nataschenka said to Virtya. Even if the blacksmithing guild started to make steel a week ago, the manufacturing line was slow as it lacked the fundamental modern equipments which would have speeded the production of steel, like when it came to submerging the hot steel into the water for cooling, Virtya was using the human labour to do this dangerous job. Even if these people were pushing the hot steel using rods while standing far away from the hot steel, it could not be ignored that the high temperatures from the production of steel was affecting them unknowingly, but Virtya could not think of a way to come up with a mechanical arm to replace these workers, he would just have to sacrifice them for a better tommorow. As one should know, Virtya had already told these workers of the dangers of working on the steel production from the furnace to the required item but the workers had accepted to do the job since this was what they took passion in, Virtya had also decided to compensate them well to cover what they had lost which put a smile on their faces as they worked hard knowing that there was a good pay after that.
"That is a good progress. Nevertheless, Fabricating those H - beams was a mess, they gave us a hard time but I am pleased that we have managed to make a few of them even if their shapes are not right. I will see how I will work with them." Virtya wiped the sweat on his face as even if it was nightfall and it was raining heavily, the ongoing works in the blacksmithing guild made the whole building too hot, it didn't matter where one was seated at as they would still feel the high temperatures. Mostly, blacksmithing works were always preferred to be done during the night but because of the huge demand of items from the blacksmithing guild these days, it made the guild too busy in that it forced the blacksmiths to also work during the day.
