บท 13: Chapter 12: Winter Wrap Up is a catchy song

Hello, how are you all?

I hope you are well; I apologize for not uploading any chapters but honestly, I just didn't have the inspiration to do it.

Now, I'm going to use whatever inspiration I have to make this chapter.

I hope you enjoy it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this moment, I was in the dreamscape beginning a new study in magic.

Or rather, I would say battle.

Or massacre.

Currently, I was running and dodging attacks and energy blasts that Princess Luna was throwing at me for training.

"Come on, Platinum, you can do better than that!" proclaimed Princess Luna, soaring above me before unleashing another energy beam at me, which I narrowly managed to dodge.

As I was running and dodging, I couldn't help but remember the purpose of this training.

After Princess Luna managed to help me in getting my Glyphs created, she finally decided to set up a study schedule for me, so to speak.

The Princess will come to my dreams and teach me for two hours every day, this due to the fact that, to begin with, she still has her duties as Princess of the night to watch over the dreams of others and also so that I can sleep.

You see, even though it's not necessary for the Princess, she still goes and watches over the dreams of her subjects, the other ponies. That has helped a lot with her image and has gotten a lot more people to accept her as Princess, although there are a lot more people who are still afraid of her.

While it bothers me a bit that the ponies can't stop wearing it because of their fear of the unknown, it's still better than nothing. Although I've also been told by Princess Luna that there have been ponies who absolutely adore her.

Well, leaving that aside, let's talk about my training. Unlike what I originally thought would happen, Princess Luna is not only teaching me magic, but she is also teaching me how to fight.

And it is not as simple as one might imagine. She is not teaching me the method of fighting for unicorns that I know is taught today, but she is teaching me the method of fighting when the ponies were at war a long time ago.

Unlike now, where many of the tactics are focused on containing the enemy, the tactics and the way of fighting that Princess Luna is teaching me is to incapacitate the enemy and then contain them, or in other words, to beat them until they are knocked out and then seize them.

It is a method that is no longer very well received nowadays, mainly because there are no longer times of war, the ponies do not see the need to stick to the more "violent" methods that were used a thousand years ago.

That didn't matter to the Princess, though, because she wanted me to be able to defend myself as best I could, even if it meant beating up the pony that stood in front of me.

And if I'm honest, I don't mind either. Violence is sometimes necessary in order to settle things against ponies who are too stubborn for their own good. Or for any enemy in general, I'm pretty sure I'll have to face someone someday who won't agree to give up easily.

Anyway, that brings us to my current training, besides teaching me how to attack, the Princess has also been teaching me how to dodge or rather she has been helping me with my senses so I can dodge.

This is because the Princess realized that I rely heavily on teleportation to dodge, and that although my senses can feel an attack coming, my body does not move as I immediately use magic to teleport away from the attack.

While there is nothing wrong with using teleportation to dodge, you should not rely on it alone to dodge, otherwise you can become predictable and your greatest strength becomes your worst weakness.

And I agreed, and more so because it really showed me how much I rely on teleportation to dodge, and how it makes me predictable to simply teleport to dodge.

And that brings us to now.

"Come on, Platinum, move your body more!" commanded Princess Luna, flying above as she shot a laser beam at me.

"(If I die, I can say in the afterlife that a flying horse descended from the sky and vaporized me with its laser beam)" I thought to myself with a painful laugh, as I could feel my legs ache from her continuous dodging.

It's not as if I could die, we're in the dream world, but it still feels that way with the constant attacks by Princess Luna.

I shook my head, just in time for a bolt of lightning to hit me in my side and send me flying.

Lying down, I gasped, catching my breath as Princess Luna descended from the sky and approached me.

"Are you all right, Platinum Breeze?" inquired Princess Luna as she approached, her magic gently lifting my exhausted body.

"Yes... I feel fine, P-Luna." I said with a tired smile as I caught my breath.

"Splendid!" exclaimed Princess Luna as she ceased her levitation, allowing my body to gently descend to the ground of my dreamscape—a serene field of apple trees. "I must say, Platinum, your proficiency in dream magic has markedly improved. This landscape is unfamiliar to me."

"Thank you, Luna." I said with a small smile as I looked around.

In addition to teaching me how to fight, the Princess has also been teaching me her own personal magic, the magic of dreams.

And that's something that honestly puzzled me quite a bit, since, the Princess' personal magic, besides raising the moon, is to be able to enter people's dreams and be able to fight them, for to say.

It is also one of the reasons why the Princess can go into dreams, but at the same time she can rest. Unlike me, who needs to rest after every study session, Princess Luna can still watch and watch over the dreams and rest at the same time, making her able to wake up and spend even a little time with her sister before she has to do anything else.

This is mainly thanks to her mastery, it is difficult to explain it in its entirety but, basically, when people sleep, they rest their body and mind, in my case during our trainings only my body rests, not my mind, which is why I sleep more than I did before.

Princess Luna has no such disadvantage, it's as if she dreams while doing her duty, getting her body and mind to rest while doing her job. Although sometimes it's not perfect, causing her to have to sleep a little more but that's the thing about magic, sometimes a simple miscalculation makes things go out of control.

I still have no idea why he is teaching me dream magic, I asked her and she said it's because she wanted to, which I don't think is a good answer but I don't know what to said.

Don't get me wrong, I feel very fortunate and privileged that Princess Luna has decided to teach me her magic, but I still can't help but wonder why she does it.

Well, that doesn't matter now. I stand up and shake my body, feeling my bones creak in protest from all the exercise I've done. "I'm going to feel this when I wake up." I comment as I approach Princess Luna to appreciate the scenery.

This is something we used to do at the end of my training, just sit and look at the view. The field we are in is a basic landscape that was created by my imagination, rather than being drawn from my memories.

Princess Luna laughs at my words. "You should know by now that whatever pain you suffer here, it won't transfer to the outside world." She said to then look at me with a smile. "You have progressed quite well in these months of training, you can move your body well enough to dodge the lightning bolts I send your way without having to rely on magic, good job Platinum." She said as she extended her wing to give me a hug of sorts.

To which I nodded and smiled back. "It's thanks to the fact that I have a good teacher." Who has no mercy on me, but that I didn't add.

The Princess's training method, as you have seen, is to attack me until I can't get up or until our training time runs out, whichever comes first. Usually, it is the former rather than the latter.

"How's the night court going?" I said as I watched the landscape fade away as I felt myself drifting off to sleep.

At my question and watching the scenery fade away, the Princess withdrew her wing and straightened up. "Are you sure you want to hear me talk about it before you go to sleep, Platinum? I thought you didn't like politics." She said with a small smile as her hair rippled behind her.

And I don't take it back, I don't understand politics and possibly never will, but it's entertaining to know how my favorite monarch is doing. "Hey, I may not like politics, but it's always good to know how you're doing."

Hearing that, she gave me a grateful smile and relaxed her posture as she spread her wings in excitement. "Well, it's just like the other time I told you about it, although this time a pony came hoping to open a store in Canterlot, a bakery to be more specific..." as Princess Luna began to tell me how it went at the night court, I lay back on the floor to admire the dreamlike starscape and listen to the Princess talk about her court.

After a while, I could feel my consciousness fading as I continued to listen to the Princess complain about a pony who thought she would be just as benevolent as her sister and spoil him. I could fell the wing of the Princess lay on my body and before I knew it, I fell asleep.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first thing that greeted me in the day is the annoying sunlight, which normally wouldn't bother me if it weren't for the fact that it's literally in my face, in my eyes, declaring that it's time to wake up and start being productive.

Someday I'll put a blind on that window, I swear.

I get up and sit on the bed as I yawn, I look over to my bed to feel it calling me, as if telling me, "come Platinum, I know you still want to sleep more, come to daddy." Sorry beddy, but once I'm already awake, I won't go back to sleep again until nighttime.

I get out of bed and stretch, feeling my back complaining that I am moving. Sometimes I debated whether Princess Luna was right about the pains I suffered in the dream world not transferring to the real world, although it is also true that the pains are more like phantom pains and I didn't really feel the pain of the training as such.

I shake my head, working my magic to fix the bed while my eyes are directed outside, more specifically towards the snow falling from the sky.

Ah, that's right, I had forgotten that we were already at the end of winter, my favorite season of the year.

Since my new stay in Ponyville, it has been about six months and it has been the craziest six months of my life.

I'm not going to go over the adventures that have already happened in the previous chapters, that would be just filler and we're just finishing the year, so I'll just tell a little of the things that have changed since the last chapter.

Which in reality is not much, most of the time was spent locked inside the library doing some studies or helping in general in Ponyville for any problem that occurred.

Seriously, despite being a small town, a lot of weird things happen here.

Mostly small things though, like helping Fluttershy with animals that don't want to go into hibernation or don't want to move for the winter, or Applejack having some friendship contest, or some random stampede that happens because the cows get scared by something.

If I had a bit for how many times that last one happened, I would have two, which is not much but it is rare for it to happen twice in the same year.

In addition to advancing and creating new Glyphs and runes, I've gotten closer with several of the girls in general.

Fluttershy is a great companion in general, despite being quite shy, she is a good animal keeper and knows how to treat them well, although sometimes there were a few problems because the carnivorous animals followed their nature, but nothing that couldn't be solved.

Rarity is a great friend who for some reason likes me to be her model for her male clothes, sometimes I am accompanied by Spike out of jealousy that I am hogging Rarity, which is funny. Despite being only 10 years old, he's pretty mature for his age, although some would call him precocious for being pretty mature, he's still a kid.

Other than that, she's easy to get along with, kind and gentle, and she never brought up the subject of my "romance" with Twilight again, which I really appreciated. Besides, I also found it quite surprising how many ponies ask for clothes they will never wear in the end.

Most ponies simply ask for clothes for special occasions or for some other private reason they don't want to talk about, sometimes they ask for the same type of clothes to wear on other days or just to change.

I honestly do not see the sense, unlike my old race, humans, ponies have fur that allows us to withstand the cold that can generate the day or night, plus we have a tail that covers the important things.

Well, my opinion may be biased by the fact that I have lived in this world for about 18 years, but details.

I can also be considered a bit of a hypocrite because I am always wearing my cape, but the only hypocrite I can stand is myself.

Anyway, Applejack can get pretty stubborn when she wants to be, and more so when it involves her farm, but I appreciate her honesty and she also helps me exercise when I go to help her on her farm, since she won't let me use my magic to get the apples down. In fact, thanks to her I have gained some muscle.

They are not visible to the naked eye like humans, but they are noticeable.

Pinkie Pie has taught me how to bake cakes, cupcakes, muffins, among other types of different desserts, plus I learned that Pinkie could also break the fourth wall better than me and decided to help me break the fourth wall to greet our viewers.

Whoever reads this, Pinkie sends her regards.

Other than that, hanging out with Pinkie Pie is entertaining to say the least, sometimes we play a few games, in some I manage to win but in others it is impossible for me. Let me tell you, beating Pinkie Pie in a game of tic tac toe is impossible.

In addition to that, I have come to accept the fact that Pinkie is a rare combination of an admittedly disturbing yet tender being, as I spent time with her I learned of the fact that she has a unique type of sixth sense called "Pinkie Sense" very rare, as she can somehow predict the near future with a flick of her tail, ear, or something else.

If Twilight ever finds out about this "Pinkie Sense," I have no doubt she'll go crazy over it, sometimes Twilight can get that way over things she doesn't understand or that don't make sense.

But it is also true that Pinkie can be very tender, she is quite playful, mischievous and teasing but not the bad kind, plus she can be a bit clumsy at times. Spending time with Pinkie can become exhausting but also quite satisfying in a way.

Rainbow Dash has been the pony I've spent the least time with in general, she's just too competitive and a bit arrogant for my taste, besides being quite proactive in everything she does, I normally prefer to stay in my room reading a book or practicing magic than doing some acrobatics. We don't get along badly but we can't really call each other best friends either.

Twilight and I are still pretty close in general, in fact I would say we became closer living together. Twilight has helped me when it comes to creating my Glyphs so I can move forward with my research, in return I have helped her practice magic that can be quite dangerous if not handled carefully.

Other than that, nothing has changed between us, we're still pretty close and good friends, which in a way I'm glad about.

Overall, I would say that I've gotten pretty close with the girls but it's also not like we're best friends or that we all have the same level of friendship. It sounds bad to put it that way but it's the truth, I'm closer to Twilight than I am with the girls, the girls are closer to Twilight than they are to me and that's just the way things are.

Apart from the mane 6, I have also made friends outside of them, one of them is Derpy Hooves, who after our first meeting, I met her again just before the beginning of winter, during the preparations to start this winter.

Apparently, according to sources who were present that day, I had failed when I was helping the weather team put up clouds for the onset of winter when suddenly something went wrong which caused it to plummet back towards me, only this time covered in snow.

Luckily, thanks to the training I was doing with Princess Luna, I was better prepared and managed to catch her with my magic so she wouldn't get hurt in the free fall. We talked again and I helped her a little so that no more incidents would occur.

While Derpy can be quite clumsy and cause quite a bit of damage, I know she means well and I gave her a muffin I had with me, which I quickly discovered was her favorite. Since then, we have become friends and sometimes she stops by to visit the library or I see her from time to time making the occasional request.

Apart from her, I have only become close to Princess Luna, I managed to overcome quite well if I may say so my discomfort of calling her only by her name and I became a sort of confidant for her, we talk quite a lot when I am resting after training and we became a bit close.

I haven't spoken to Zecora since I went to talk to her for the Poison Joke - I mean, the scientific study of the Poison Joke, for lack of time more than anything, but I hope to clear my schedule soon to go see her.

Well, I shake my head after having finished my internal monologue, enough of reminiscing about the past.

I leave my room and walk down the stairs to the kitchen, where to my surprise, there is Spike up and having breakfast climbing on Twilight's back for a walk.

"Good morning to you two, are you going out somewhere?" I said as I spotted a plate with an egg and cheese sandwich on it and lifted it up to start eating.

Spike responded before Twilight could, "Major Mare is going to give a boring speech about the Winter Wrap Up..."

"What Spike means is-" Twilight interrupted before he could say anything rude as she gave him an annoyed look. "-major mare is going to announce the official start of Winter Wrap Up so all the ponies can help clean up the town." I couldn't hide my grimace as I remembered that was today, Winter Wrap Up, where winter comes to an end to make way for spring.

I'm not against helping with the Winter Wrap Up, even if it is one of my favorite seasons in the world, but I'm not a fan of the Ponyville tradition where they basically force unicorns to not use their magic because earth ponies founded this town.

Which honestly, I don't see the point, I understand that this town was founded by Earth Ponies but it's not fair to force one of the pony tribes to not use their special gift to be able to clear the snow. If they let the Pegasus use their wings and flight for clearing, why not let the unicorns use their magic?

Of course, it is also true that without the Pegasus, doing everything terrestrial style would be basically impossible but I stand by my point.

I came back to reality when I felt a certain pony touching my shoulder and saw that right in front of me was Twilight looking at me with an amused smile.

It seems I got lost in my thoughts again.

Oops.

"Will you come with us to City Hall, Mr. Sleepyhead?"

"Of course." I said with a shrug, I wasn't going to help with the celebrations, call me all you want, but I didn't feel like not using my magic for this day.

But it's better than sitting around and doing nothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You know Spike, the good thing about that speech is that it was quick." I said once the mayor was done with her speech and all the ponies dispersed to start their chores.

"I think the only one who sees the positive in that is you, Platinum." True, very true Spike. I shrug with a smile at Spike's sleepy reply. What can I say, I like speeches that are short and get straight to the point.

It's a shame we have to say goodbye to winter, it's one of my favorite things in the whole world, mainly because I love snow and it's a shame to just have to say goodbye to it.

But all good things must come to an end, otherwise you won't learn to enjoy it.

"Oh gosh!" a voice interrupted my ramblings and I fixed my gaze on the purple unicorn beside me who was looking around rather quizzically. "Where should I go? I'm not sure where I'd fit in... What exactly does each pony do?"

"Don't overthink things as usual Twilight, I'm sure you'll find what you can do, eventually." Like, I don't know, organize or something.

"Uhh, what are you going to do Platinum?" hey, leave me out of this.

"Nothing."

"Nothing?" yes Twilight, you don't have to repeat after me.

"Yes, nothing, I don't feel like helping if I can't use my magic."

"Platinum, I understand that not being able to use magic is a big challenge, but it is part of the Ponyville tradition. I too find not being able to use magic myself difficult but we all face that challenge here. I'm going to learn how to handle it myself, you can too." Twilight said as she momentarily forgot all about where she belonged.

I shook my head. "I know I can do things without me magic, I'm not useless without it, but I simply refuse to participate in the celebration if I can't use it. It's part of me and not using it voluntarily without good reason just seems... wrong to me."

Twilight frowned at my words, but in the end she nodded." I understand, Platinum, I won't force you to participate if you don't want to. If you change your mind, just tell me."

I smiled, feeling a little guilty. "Thank you for understanding Twilight."

"Three months of winter coolness." Suddenly, our conversation is interrupted by a melody. "And awesome holidays!" Wait... is Rainbow Dash singing? Uh, she sings pretty well.

Wait, don't tell me...

"We've kept our hoofsies warm at home, time off from work to play." Oh my, it's another wild musical number, and Pinkie, you always clear time so you can play, or well, everypony in the time.

"But the food we've stored is running out and we can't grow in this cold." You sing well too Applejack, and you're right. I guess being a herbivore has its disadvantages.

Also, this musical number is nothing like the previous episode, I can think more clearly and my voice is not forced to sing yet.

"And even though I love my boots, this fashion is getting old!" Different being between two ponies than with a crowd? Or will it be a canon thing.

Something to think about later.

"The time has come to welcome spring!" hey, where are you going? I hurry to keep up with Twilight who suddenly decided to join the musical number, although she was still preoccupied. "And all things warm and green, but it's also time to say goodbye. It's winter we must clean, how can I help? I'm new, you'll see, what does everypony do? How do I fit in without magic? I haven't got a clue!"

"Just join the Twilight unicorn group, they must have been doing this for years." I suggested but I'm not sure if she heard me, as suddenly the chorus started up.

"Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Let's finish our Holiday cheer!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Because tomorrow spring is here!"

Honestly, I like this song much better than the one I sang yesterday. It has a nice chorus and the music is pretty good.

"Bringing home the southern birds,

A Pegasus job begins,

And clearing all the gloomy skies,

To let the sunshine in.

We move the clouds and melt the white snow.

When the sun comes up, its warmth and beauty will glow!"

With this song, I no longer feel annoyed with winter being done and I can understand a little more why Ponyville holds on to its tradition. But I still don't feel like helping but I will continue to follow Twilight around Ponyville listening to the other ponies sing.

...and the sun for some reason makes Twilight glow... I shook my head in amusement as the purple mare smiled at the hard work of all the ponies.

"Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Let's finish our Holiday cheer!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!"

Man, this song is long. How long is it supposed to be?

"Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Because tomorrow spring is here!"

I guess it will go on for a while longer... I hope it won't last long.

"Little critters hibernate,

Under the snow and ice,

We wake up all their sleepy heads

So quietly and nice.

We help them gather up their food,

Fix their homes below.

We welcome back the southern birds,

So that their families can grow!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Let's finish our Holiday cheer!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Because tomorrow spring is here!"

Okay, Okay, we get it. No need to over lengthen the chorus, just move on to the next pony so we can get this over with. Twilight and Spike just gave me a confused look as I grabbed my head.

"No easy task to clear the ground, plant our tiny seeds." You should be used to it by now Applejack, you've practically been doing it all your life.

"With proper care and sunshine, everypony it feeds.

Apples, carrots, celery stalks, colorful flowers too.

We have to work so very hard! it's just so much to do!"

Yes, I understand. Will it be long before they finish singing?

" Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Let's finish our Holiday cheer!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Because tomorrow spring is here!"

My God, I've had enough of this incredibly long song. Can't they just end it?

"I understand your feelings, but I don't see the point in just continuing to sing.

Cease your singing, no more perk.

Winter won't end on its own, so get on with your jobs while I sit here."

Oh, great. Well, at least my mouth didn't move on its own but it did sing again on its own. But my all-useless input didn't make the incredibly long song any more bearable.

Oh boy, it looks like Twilight is going to sing. Twilight has a beautiful singing voice.

"Now that I know what they all do,

I have to find my place.

And help me with all my heart,

Tough task ahead I face!

How will I do it without my magic, help the earth pony way.

I wanna belong so I must do my best today!

Do my best today!"

And now my wild singing voice comes back to help my friend in her predicament.

"Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

I'm sure you'll do fine Twilight.

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Just do the best you can, and you'll see that your worry was unnecessary."

Great, I can't help but repeat a bit of the chorus but at least I hope I helped Twilight a little, though at least my advice earned me a smile.

And now the music is playing again.

" Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Let's finish our Holiday cheer!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!"

At this point, I just gave up and decided to let my voice sing and relax like I did last time, at least I didn't sing the whole song otherwise it would have bothered me and this time I'm singing along with Twilight the chorus in a duet form.

" Because tomorrow spring is here!

Because tomorrow spring is here!

Because tomorrow spring is here!"

...did the song finally finished? Yes? Phew, the music finally stopped. It was about time.

I took a deep breath as my throat felt dry from all the singing. I wasn't used to singing, let alone such long choruses, I honestly hoped that my song with Spike would be the first and last time I would do it.

I guess I expected too much.

One moment...

"How in Equestria did we get here?" said I am looking around.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up.

Ugh, now the chorus of the song is stuck in my head. I should have expected it because the song was just sung a few moments ago and it's a rather catchy song but it's still annoying.

At the moment, I find myself accompanying Twilight as we go over to talk to Rainbow Dash to see if she can help her although I honestly don't know why she thinks she'll be able to help the wingless Pegasus team.

But hey, Twilight stuff, I guess.

"Rainbow Dash!" oh, looks like we're here.

"Oh, hey Twilight, Platinum! What's up?" asked Rainbow Dash once she realized we were behind her.

I simply raised my hoof in salute as Twilight went ahead to ask her question.

"What are you doing?" said Twilight looking at Rainbow.

"Sending one of my flight crew to pick up the birds that have flown south for the winter" said Rainbow Dash looking up at the sky to see her crew flying away.

"Oh, can I help? How about helping clear the clouds?" said Twilight with an enthusiastic smile.

At the question, Rainbow Dash gave a shy laugh as she looked down at her wings and flapped them.

"Oh, right. No wings." Twilight said as she looked at her sides to remind herself that she didn't have wings.

"Sorry, Twilight." Rainbow said about to take flight only to suddenly remember something and turn her gaze towards me. "Oh right, Platinum I'd like to ask you a favor."

At that, I raised an eyebrow in doubt. "Depends on the favor Rainbow, if it's with something regarding Winter Wrap Up then I'll have to turn it down."

Upon hearing my statement, she gave me a confused look for not wanting to help clean up the town then shook her head. "It's not that, I'd like to ask if you can keep an eye on Derpy."

My eyebrow rose even higher in confusion at the Pegasus' words. "You want me to keep an eye on Derpy, why, and why me?"

Rainbow gave an embarrassed chuckle as she began to explain, "I think you know that Derpy can get a little clumsy when it comes to doing things and I saw how you helped her when the winter started so she wouldn't cause any more havoc. That's why I'd like you to keep an eye on her to keep her from doing any more wreckage."

At that, my gaze changed to a thoughtful one. It's not really something I can't do and there are probably no ponies complaining about me using magic to take care of Derpy. But Derpy is an adult and I don't feel it's right to give her any kind of special care simply because of the eyes she has, or how she is.

With a frown, I shook my head at Rainbow Dash. "I'm sorry, Rainbow. But I feel like I'd be disrespecting Derpy if I just go and watch her like she's a filly."

Hearing my response, Rainbow frowned but nodded in acceptance of my words. "Eh, fair enough. Thanks anyway, guys." She said to then take flight.

I turned around to see Twilight scowling at me with a sleeping Spike on her back. "What?" I asked blinking in confusion.

At that, Twilight shakes her head and gives me an apologetic look and smile. "I'm sorry, I just couldn't help but feel annoyed why Rainbow didn't ask me too to help... Derpy was it?" said and asked Twilight.

Hearing what he said, I nodded my head. "Yes, Derpy Hooves and I understand your upset Twilight but it's for the best, it's not fair to just give Derpy special treatment because of her eyes, that's just wrong."

Twilight got a thoughtful look then nodded in my direction. "You're right, Platinum. I don't know what kind of problem Derpy has, but it's not right to treat a pony differently simply because she can't do the same as everyone else."

At that, I nodded with a smile as I followed Twilight who had a thoughtful look on her face, probably wondering what we could do.

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up... [Beep].

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up. Ugh, I can't get the [Beep] song out of my head.

I currently find myself in Rarity's boutique watching Twilight assist in the creation of bird nests and messing it up in the process.

Now that I have time to think, I can't help but think about how weird Equestria has been these past few months. Or maybe I just hadn't noticed.

Or just ignore it, which is more likely.

I mean, music playing out of nowhere, mouths moving on their own to sing, weird magic... it all defies the normal logic of the world.

Well, from my old world. I know it happens sometimes, as even in Canterlot I noticed music out of nowhere and ponies singing, but I never gave it a thought. I always thought the musicians were hiding or it was something else.

Now, I simply have no idea where it comes from.

I'll have to think about it later, Twilight returns.

"Any luck?" I asked once Twilight got closer, and got my answer when Twilight simply lowered her head and groaned in frustration. "Not so much then..." I said turning my gaze to Rarity who was working on fixing Twilight's nest.

I hope you don't get hung up on repairing that one when you can just leave it last and do the others.

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up... [Beep] me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up. "Oh, Celestia... careful- Twilight, be careful with that- I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be spinning like that... by Celestia, Twilight use the force I mean you balance Twilight, that should help..."

I hear laughter next to me. "Platinum, calm down. You'll be fine, there's no need to worry."

"I'm not worried, I'm just looking out for Twilight."

"If you say so."

Anyway, one of us two should take this seriously, Spike. Ice skating is not an easy activity to do, let alone for a pony who is a complete beginner and doesn't have someone to help him. I wish I knew how to skate so I could help Twilight but unfortunately, I never thought of practicing it.

I could try to help her but that would involve me skating too and then we would be two ponies who can't skate instead of one.

For now, my eyes are fixed on the unicorn who has no control over herself.

It probably didn't help that Spike pushed her without her being able to gain a balance first.

My God, what would happen if the ice broke?

Uh oh...

I stepped back and then winced as I imagined the pain of the impact as Twilight crashed into Pinkie who ended up crashing into Spike in the process and crashing into a big pile of snow, resulting in them turning into a snowman and then shaking the snow off.

As I headed towards them, Spike let out a childish giggle. "You're a natural at this Twilight...ha-ha! A natural disaster! ha-ha!"

At that, I tossed Spike some snow with a frown before turning my worried gaze to Twilight. "Are you okay?" if no one else would worry, I'd have to do it myself.

"Yes, I'm fine." Phew, at least physically she's fine. Although her tone and expression tells me she doesn't feel fine.

"Twilight, you did a great job for your first time!" began Pinkie to congratulate Twilight as she stood up, before quickly adding. "I'm sure my first time was just as shaky, lumpy and shocking as yours!"

"Really?!" god Twilight, don't believe everything she says.

"No." I figured, gosh, I'm pretty sure ponies don't understand the concept of a harmless lie at all. Spike was about to laugh but stopped when he noticed the look on my face. Pinkie continued after the dejected response. "But did I make you feel better?"

Maybe if you hadn't said no, it would feel better.

"Heh... yeah, I guess." Yes, I'm right.

"I bet you'll be amazing at something that lets you keep your hooves on the ground. I know; Fluttershy will probably need your help with the animals."

"Well, I'm pretty good with animals" Twilight thought about the idea... as she slowly glided across the ice. "Yeah, I'll go help her!" before moving across the ice again in a comical manner...

Oh, THIS next attempt should be the good one... I mean, between skating and helping Fluttershy with some helpless animals.

Which one is better?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So, let me get this straight..." I started conversing with Spike while Twilight and Fluttershy were in charge of waking up the forest animals. "Twilight and I gave you several lessons about nature and the different types of animals out there... and you don't remember the word hibernation or what it means?" said I as I raised an eyebrow at Spike.

To which Spike shrugged in embarrassment. "Sorry Platinum, sometimes when you and Twilight are being smart asses, I find it hard to pay attention to you guys, especially when you use a big word like that."

Hardly a big or complicated word, Spike. Before I could continue, a particular shout stopped me. "Wah! Snakes, snakes, snakes!" both my gaze and Spike's gaze shift to the purple unicorn that was backing up and away from the hole full of dangerous reptiles (Pff, dangerous. I don't know how you can be afraid of snakes but not dragons).

Before she could try to calm Twilight down, she ended up entering another cave behind her... only to run back out screaming as several bats came out behind her.

I half closed my eyes when she suddenly hit a tree and a honeycomb fell directly on her head, then proceeded to run off again and into another hole.

And the icing on the cake of Twilight's animal misfortunes, out of the hole Twilight just entered came a family of skunks coming out of the cave Twilight entered and, judging by the smell emanating and the whimpering of the unicorn inside the hole, someone was going to need a very good scrubbing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ohh...this whole Winter Wrap Up thing is a lot harder than it looks." Twilight complained as Spike rubbed the poor unicorn, who was currently bathing in a puddle of red to clean up the smell left behind by the forest creatures.

Now let's see if it is true that tomato sauce is useful to eliminate the stench left by skunks.

"Right." Agreed Spike irritably as he held his nose with his free hand. (N/A: hand or paw?) What was I doing? Nursing the unicorn from the wounds left by the bees while enjoying the warmth the library offered after basically being outside all day. "Because there's no magic; why don't you use magic, Twilight, and do it the right way."

At that I nodded, internally, as I continued to heal Twilight.

I respect the earth ponies, they don't have the same facility that we have, the unicorns, or the Pegasus. But that doesn't mean I'm simply going to stop using what makes me special, like magic, simply because they founded this town.

"No Spike, I have to do it the old-fashioned way. Ponyville has never needed magic to finish the Winter Wrap Up." Though it does make me realize that both Twilight and I rely on magic a lot, which makes me rethink things a lot.

"But they haven't had you here before either." Spike objected with a weak counterargument. "Think how fast they can wipe out the Winter Wrap Up with your magic!"

"No need to rush, Spike." I interrupted the discussion before they could continue. No need to rush things, if Ponyville has managed to end winter in time before, then there's no need to rush. "Besides Spike, respect Twilight's decision, if she wants to hold on to tradition, then we should respect it. (No matter how [Beep] that decision is)" I said and thought to myself.

"Thank you, Platinum." Twilight said, grateful that someone in the library agreed with her, only to then grunt in disgust as the dragon poured another can of sauce over her head. "I'm going to find a way to help end the Winter Wrap Up, somehow."

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up... [Beep].

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm not the only one who thinks this was never a good idea, correct?"

"Right." Replied both Spike and Applejack as we watched the determined purple unicorn go to help the large number of earth ponies pile up the snow... but first Twilight must move the strange, but incredibly creative, contraption. It was then that the orange mare decided to look at me and ask. "So, what are ya doin' to pitch in with the Winter Wrap Up, Platinum?"

My response was immediate, as I had already prepared myself in case any pony asked me such a question. "I won't do it without magic."

At my words, the mare frowned. "Ya reckon ya oughta find a way to help without usin' magic? Twilight can't use magic either, and look, she's doin' her part with the Winter Wrap Up." Applejack nodded towards the somewhat disheartened mare observing the work area.

"It just seems like a silly tradition to me to not let unicorns be able to use their magic."

At that, the mare scoffed. "Well, that silly tradition is what makes Winter Wrap Up special. It ain't about magic; it's about us workin' together—all ponies, whether earth ponies, Pegasi, or unicorns. It's a day where we all pitch in without leanin' on what sets us apart."

"Hey, guys."

Hearing her words, I sighed a little as I turned my gaze to Applejack with a thoughtful frown and feeling the frustration inside me. "I understand your point, Applejack, but it just seems unfair to me that unicorns can't use their magic while Pegasus can use their wings."

"Guys..."

At that, Applejack's gaze softened as she gave me a small, understanding smile, her tone firm yet gentle. "Platinum, I get that it might feel unfair, but look at it like this: Pegasi use their wings to clear the skies and bring in spring, somethin' we earth ponies can't manage alone. We use our strength to plant and grow crops, while unicorns bring their smarts and magic to the table. It ain't 'bout denyin' anypony their talents; it's 'bout findin' harmony and workin' together with what each of us brings."

Hearing her words, I sighed and reflected on them. Yes, I had thought about it a bit about it before but not in that way. "I guess it makes sense, but it still feels limiting."

Applejack nodded thoughtfully. "I know it ain't easy. But sometimes, workin' without relyin' on our strongest skills helps us find new ways to be helpful and to value what others bring. Plus, you're strong—if ya ever decide to join in, there's always room for you on the team."

I lowered my gaze, pondering the words Applejack had just said to me, but before I could respond, a shout caught my attention.

"Guys!" the panicked shout from Spike caused us to turn to look at him and see that he was pointing in the direction of where Twilight was to which our eyes followed to see...

Uh oh.

My body moved instinctively and I jumped out of the way, abandoning the orange pony and the dragon to become the victims of the giant snowball that was now heading elsewhere, the source of the white rock being... Twilight...

It seems that in the end my words and Spike's words made him decide to use magic, and look how well that turned out...

I frowned and shook my head, not the time to think about it. I ran in pursuit of the snowball that wouldn't stop and was growing by the second.

And I soon regretted running without a plan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pah! Bah!

My body struggled to get out of the wreckage of the avalanche, feeling too cold to be able to use magic properly as I was trapped in a pile of snow. Every bit of my fur shivered under the icy onslaught, my cloak, which had previously kept me warm, no longer managed to serve its purpose. I shook off the small mounds of snow after I was completely off the white ground and instinctively activated a spell that warmed my body as I looked around for the mares and the dragon.

Yuck, maybe I shouldn't have left the house today...

Ah, there they are.

As the spell warmed me, I approached the three heads that popped out of the pile of snow. When I finally got close enough, I could hear a bit of the lecture Applejack was giving Twilight. "-How do we do it around here, Twilight, and especially not on my farm!"

Well, you see..." I heard Twilight respond faintly and felt my mind stop as I noticed the purple unicorn's expression.

Was she... about to cry?

"I-I just wanted to... Ohh!" my eyes flickered in shock as the distressed unicorn leapt out of the snow and ran off, straight past some annoyed earth ponies in the direction of town.

I gave an icy glare to the orange earth pony, who flinched a little because of it, only for my gaze to shift in the direction Twilight ran in and then dash off in pursuit of the unicorn...again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have rarely seen her so upset to the point of almost crying. I think the last time was 5 or 6 years ago when I became a member of the magical council of Canterlot. At that time, I pretty much understood it, she was jealous and being a child, she couldn't think of anything better to do than cry.

But I don't understand why she's so concerned about this issue to the point where she basically cries, I'll have to ask her...once I've found her and helped her calm down.

"Twilight?" I shouted as I looked around for the hidden mare. Maybe she had gone back to the library, to her own room and was taking out a bunch of books to hide or something...no, that sounds something like Spike would do...

"I'm here." A muffled but familiar voice replied, and my body automatically jumped as the shaking bush I was walking next to answer my question.

...really?

"You know, I don't think an icy bush is going to help in any way with the cold." I said jokingly. "Come on Twilight, get out of there."

"Why, so I can cause another disaster with my so-called help?" I blinked at the dejected response.

"That wasn't your fault, Twilight."

"Yes, it was." Wow, she's really upset. "I allowed my dependence on magic to win out and, in doing so, made things worse for the hardworking citizens of Ponyville...I knew I shouldn't have listened to Spike's advice." She conclude with a sigh.

"Well, there's the rub, you heard Spike. I'm sure there's something in this town you can help with to take down the Winter Wrap Up." And I also felt a little guilty, since I feel like my attitude about magic helped Twilight make her decision.

I also ignored the gaze of the working ponies watching me talk to a talking bush.

Anyway, to my point. Sure, I wasn't pushy and supported Twilight in her decision not to use magic to follow the Ponyville tradition, but I feel like I could have done more, maybe if I hadn't been so stubborn and helped Twilight in doing some activity, things would have turned out better.

Which also makes me wonder why I was being so insistent with the whole not helping if I can't use my magic thing... could it be something related to my past as a human? I don't remember much anymore, it's been many years since then and I actively try not to remember as well, but it could be that something from my past as a human influenced my decision not to help if I can't use magic.

As I was pondering, a voice brought me back to reality. "That's very kind of you to say that Platinum but we both know it's not true. I've done nothing but annoy and distract my friends from their own tasks of finishing the Winter Wrap Up. Is there anything I can do today that won't ruin another pony's hard work?"

"...You can always advise others, you're quite competent offering support and opinions...plus you're pretty smart" Understatement of the century, really. But receiving no response to my idea, I sighed, feeling a bit irritated about the whole thing. Time to cut to the chase. "Twilight, why are you doing this, really, why are you so determined to help the town with this inordinate amount of dedication?"

"I want to help..."

"But why?" she couldn't emphasize the word enough. "Why, why are you so obsessed with helping them, when clearly they are more than capable of handling their respective tasks on their own? We both know there's more to it than just Twilight wanting to help because they're all her friends, and because the Winter Wrap Up closing day was of great importance to, I imagine, all the ponies."

Finally, a part of the unicorn escaped from the bush; two violet eyes looked at me from inside with some sadness, a long pause before Twilight finally decided to tell me. "Princess Celestia tasked me with discovering the magic of friendship." ...And what does that have to do with the whole thing? I gestured for her to continue before she sighed again. "How can I do that when I'm not even competent enough to help you on a day as important as this?"

"You're kidding, right?" THAT'S what this was really all about? "Twilight... you do enough to not be required to do every little task your friends need to solve, don't you?" When her eyes retreated back to the bush, I sighed again, this time in annoyance. "They won't always need your help, you know."

"I know... but... right now I feel so useless."

At that, I couldn't help but snort in amusement at such a false statement "Are you useless? You, the student of Celestia?" I ignored the collective gasps of the ponies passing by as they worked. "You, who sent an Ursaminor back to his cave peacefully? You, who showed no prejudice towards Zecora when she visited town? You, possibly the most rational and intelligent pony in all of Ponyville? You are anything less than useless Twilight."

Sure, the Ursaminor incident did it with my help, but details. Before I could think any further, a muffled and now meek voice asked from within the bush. "Do you really think I'm the smartest pony in Ponyville, smarter than you, Platinum?". At that, I smiled with humor and affection. There's the ego hiding inside her.

But before I could respond, another familiar voice called out to me. "Platinum! There you are!" my head swiveled in the direction where Spike was coming from and he looked quite exhausted as he clutched his tiny knees and took a deep breath. "Glad I caught up with you, have you seen Twilight?"

"Right here, Spike."

"Wow!" well, at least unlike Spike, I didn't react in such a vocal way to Twilight's hiding place. "Twilight? What are you doing there?"

"Hiding, obviously."

"I was asking her."

"What Platinum said."

I couldn't help but hold back a small smile that grew on my muzzle as Spike recovered from his seemingly strenuous workout up here. That'll teach Spike not to be so lazy and maybe work out some more. "Hmm... come on, Twilight, get out." Pff, I couldn't help but snort. Trust me Spike, I've tried that.

"I'm a winter mess."

"...Did you just forget about our conversation?" ask quietly, in disbelief. Seriously, sometimes Twilight can be really hard to understand.

"You're good at a lot of things!" the dragon tried to encourage the poor unicorn as I did. "But not at making nests, ice skating, waking animals, cleaning snow..."

...Don't look at me like that, Spike. That blow I gave you on the head, you deserved it.

"Hmm, thank you so much for making me feel so much better." Hold in a small chuckle, if there's one thing, I love about Twilight it's her sarcastic demeanor.

My laughter got a little louder because Spike didn't understand the tone. "That's what I'm here for, sis!"

"Rainbow Dash!" uh, my head jerks in the direction of the sound of a certain orange mare's voice. "Everypony on the weather team needs to melt the rest of the snow here on the ground and the trees, pronto!"

"Got it!" said the blue Pegasus as she proceeded to help only to be stopped by a protesting Fluttershy.

"You can't! Or the poor little animals' houses will be flooded if the snow melts too fast." Hmm, that certainly is a problem.

"I understand."

"I'm telling you, Rainbow, you need to melt that snow now!"

"No! You simply must wait!"

"Well..."

"Go!"

"Stop!"

Meanwhile, Spike and I exchanged glances at the discussion in front of us about what to do. Let's see... if we're honest, the crop issue sounds more important but we also have to take into account the little animals that haven't woken up yet, they can drown and then they would die.

...Hmm, that's a hard thing to decide, I wonder what Rainbow will choose.

"Ugh! Make up your minds at once!" good choice, Rainbow.

"Ah!" and here comes the mayoress, let's see if she can solve this dilemma. "What on earth are they arguing about in Equestria? This kind of nonsense is the reason we were late for spring last year! And the year before that! And the year before that!"

"Boy, what a disorganized city!" I said as Spike said an "mmm-hmm" in agreement.

"Did she say... late?" both the dragon and I blinked as Twilight finally emerged from the bush, looking at the scene with surprise and concern.

At that, a small smile grew on my muzzle. I know where this is going...

"I was hoping that my incredibly inspirational speech-" Pff, yes indeed, inspirational. "-It would urge everyone to do better than last year, but now it looks like we're going to be later than ever!" the mayor proceeded to look around. "I mean, look at this catastrophe!"

We followed her gaze until we came to a dejected Pinkie Pie for messing up the ice, then to a panicked Rarity who finally burst into tears, and then to numerous areas that the older pony wanted to point out. Obviously, this was only making things worse. "This is not good at all!"

You know... maybe you should take the reins and do your job guiding all the ponies to do a better job, you should have a plan b or something in cases like these. You should also have come up with a better plan if the plan keeps failing every year. Seriously, how incompetent can the management of this city be?

They need some pony who specializes in noting micro details like these, thinking through every possible scenario and planning accordingly, not sticking to one plan and hoping for the best.

Someone like...

My gaze immediately shifted to the unicorn in the bush who was still looking at the whole mess.

"-And it will be a complete disaster if we don't get all our seeds planted." Applejack's voice interrupted my thoughts as she continued to complain about the crops.

"Chillax, Applejack!" I nodded in agreement with Rainbow Dash, I understand that crops are important and that food is running low, but fussing more about it won't help anyone. "We're pushing as fast as we can!"

"No!" spoke Fluttershy again. "Not quickly! We have to wake the animals up slowly." They are not made of cardboard Fluttershy, I think they can all be woken up a little faster.

I shook my head as my gaze shifted to Twilight; I nudged her which made her attention turn to me. "Well, I think we've heard enough. Twilight, you know what to do."

At that, she blinked in surprise. "Do I?" the mare's gaze looked over the bush at the mayor this disorganized city to complain some more about things not going her way.

And that seemed to ignite the spark that led to Twilight becoming the "heroine of the day.", jumping out of the bush and landing in front of Spike and I. "Spike, get my checklist and clipboard. Quick!"

I arched an eyebrow as Spike saluted in military fashion. "Y-yes, ma'am!" he said to then run off to do what he had been tasked to do.

"Platinum!" no need to shout, Twilight, I'm right in front of you. However, the authoritative tone Twilight is using made my body firm up when she addressed me. "Do you want to help me get this town better organized?"

"...I can order the ponies to wiggle their skinny butts." At her positive nod, a smile spread across my muzzle. "It would be my pleasure, Twilight."

She smiled back at me, more confidently than she had all day, before turning her attention to the arguing villagers. "Stop, everypony! Stop!"

That's not working... oh, I know. I brought my hoof up to my mouth and whistled, and used my magic to amplify the sound, causing everyone to stop arguing like children and look in our direction. I stopped whistling and ignoring their stares, I turned my attention to Twilight, who was rubbing her ear from the high-pitched sound I used. "All yours."

Twilight nodded with annoyance and appreciation, and continued as she was able to address the surprised ponies. "I know you all want to complete your jobs on time, but arguing is not the way to do it!"

It's time to add something to the speech for the sake of the plot. "You are right, citizens. For spring to come, we must all work together as one, and for that, we need one simple thing."

"Organization!" Twilight finished as Spike returned with the equipment his mistress had asked for. "And I'm the right pony for the job!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(An unnecessary sequence of work later).

"I can't believe it!" I heard the mayor exclaim gleefully, which informed me that she and most of Ponyville had arrived from the other side of the tree. "Spring has arrived! On time!"

Yes, yesterday was a pretty fruitful day cleaning up winter. I don't know if Twilight enjoyed it as much as I did, but I loved it. My favorite part was getting to push that thing they use at Applejack's farm and yelling at the ponies to follow my lead and stop being lazy, ignoring Applejack's disapproving yet approving look at me for getting to work but not for the way I did it.

In the end, Twilight and I collectively help organize the townspeople, ordering the ponies to stop being so [Beep] and get off their skinny butts to clear the winter, a bit for my reluctance.

"And we owe it all to you." Continued the voice of the mayoress as I hid with my invisibility spell, this was Twilight's time, not mine. "If it wasn't for your organizational skills, we'd still be arguing." An argument that shouldn't have happened to begin with, if the voice of authority in this town had done its job better.

"It was a team effort." Modesty, an attribute many people must have to keep the power from going to their heads. Although this time it was all thanks to Twilight, so modesty really isn't necessary.

However, pride can also be annoying and unnecessary.

"And since you helped all the teams, we got an official vest for you." My eyebrow rose as I heard what they were giving Twilight. Seriously, a vest? Applejack won a trophy for stopping a stampede, but for organizing and tidying up the entire city for a major celebration, Twilight won nothing but a vest?

...bah, whatever. We didn't even get a trophy when we stopped the Ursaminor and Pinkie Pie didn't get anything when she stopped the Parasprites invasion, so it really shouldn't be a surprise that this town doesn't know how to reward ponies well sometimes.

"We give you the title: Organizer of the whole team!"

...what a [Beep] name.

"Gosh, I don't even know what to say..."

"You can say it's the dumbest names ever." I muttered to myself which luckily no one heard as no one knew I was here, not even Twilight, I told her I went to the library because I was tired.

"Thank you all!"

"And I hereby declare that winter...is over on time!" The announcement was followed by loud cheers... only to be followed by laughter at Spike's poor accident. Honestly, I don't see what's funny about it, since Spike is obviously tired and still a kid, but whatever.

"By the way, where is that young stud who helped you with the organization? I'd like to thank him too." And that's my cue to disappear, using my magic as quietly as I can, I teleport myself and Spike back to the library.

No one saw anything.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Dear Princess Celestia, winter preparation was one of the most special things I've been a part of here in Ponyville; it helped me learn that we all have hidden talents, and if we are patient and diligent, we are sure to find them. And as always, with good friendship and teamwork, ponies can accomplish anything!" Twilight looked out the window proudly for having learned a lesson as good as that, and I couldn't help but smile a little as I approached the pair. "How's that Spike? ... Spike?"

My smile turned into a smirk as I gently placed the cup of hot chocolate next to the chair where the snoring dragon was resting.

"Oh Spike...Hehehe" chuckles.

"Well, what did you expect? He was still pretty tired when he woke up earlier" I asked with a smile as I passed another cup I was holding magically to the grateful mare.

"That's right." Twilight said as she took a sip of the warm sustenance.

"My apologies if it's not the best. It's been a while since I've made a hot chocolate."

"It's delicious, Platinum. As always." She gave me a warm smile, which I returned with a small one. "Thank you and thank you also for helping me and the rest of the town for finishing this Winter Wrap Up. I know you didn't like me for the fact that you couldn't use your magic."

"It was no big deal." I shrugged as I gave him a cheeky grin. "But ordering the ponies to get off their skinny butts and they can do better was the best part of my day."

"You're no better Platinum." Twilight said as she gave me a look... and proceeded to blush. Apparently, someone hadn't noticed that I had developed some muscle, so I gave her a smirk and proceeded to take a sip of my hot chocolate... hmmm, it came out good.

"By the way Platinum-" Twilight said suddenly, which made me turn my gaze to her. "w-what you said yesterday was for real?"

Hmm? What did I say yesterday that was relevant. "What do you mean Twilight?"

"About me being... well, 'the most rational and intelligent pony in all of Ponyville'; do you really think I am?" For some reason, Twilight seemed embarrassed to even ask the question, avoiding my questioning gaze. Hmm, I remember saying that to cheer her up.

I simply gave her a smile and took a sip of my hot chocolate as I thought about it. "Yes, you are the most rational and intelligent pony in all of Ponyville, Twilight. Not in Equestria, because unfortunately I take that title." I quickly escaped the room before I heard the unicorn's response.

Winter Wrap Up, Winter Wrap Up... [Beep], I thought I forgot about that blessed song.
