บท 81: side stories
AN: The first side story is about a certain marine vice admiral who created marine six styles or popularly known as Rokushiki technique. This story will continue from Maki's slave days till the current time when the five elders thought that she is dead.
The second side story is about the five elders. After they learnt from their spys that Kureha has returned to the drum Kingdom with the dead body of Roxx, and learning the false story from the king, they cancelled their bounties. Six months passed after that but now they are suddenly facing an immortal Maki who was threatening to expose the truth.
Side story 1
The hardships of Rear admiral Donkey
Rear admiral Donkey is a hardworking person. In fact he might be the most hard working person in the entire marine organisation. But still he always get scolded for being lazy. Donkey never understood why his superior especially the fleet admiral always scold him even when he does all of his assigned work very perfectly.
"Donkey ! You are really a donkey ! You fool ! How can you mistake a pirate for a civilian ! Just because that guy was wearing a wig, doesn't necessary mean that he is a woman !
You know what ? I give you a new title ! The king of the idiots !
Because of your pea sized brain, we lost the trail on a pirate worth 100 millions berries bounty !
You know what I have a perfect punishment for you ! You are going as a guard for the weekly games of the world nobels for next half year !
That's your punishment."
Donkey's heart sank. The guard duty of the weekly games in the holy lands of Mariejoice is considered as a punishment for soft hearted marines. During the slave fights, at least two rear admirals stay there in order to guard the perimeter. Sometime a few suicidal slaves might attack the celestial Dragons in reckless abandone. So apart from the CP agents, two career admirals stay in the perimeter of the arena in order to stop that kind of attempts by the slaves. Due to the cruelty, the task was not for weak hearted people. And Donkey was one of the weak harted marines. He didn't know that he will be able to stay sane after spending half a year in the holy lands.

Donkey focused his observation haki on the girl full of scars. As a hard working guy, despite his ranks, he has already awakened both the types of haki. While his colour of armament is good, his strong suit was his colour of observation. He immediately recognised the moves as physical movements rather than devil fruit powers. A feat he should be proud of because many observation haki users failed to recognise it before him.
For the next six months Donkey was so busy calculating and deciphering her move that he didn't realise when the time passed away.
After he finished his duty he took an extended vacation for 1 month and tried to replicate them. But he failed. After four years of hard work, he finally succeeded in replicating six of them.
After showing the special fighting moves, his talent was immediately recognised by the fleet Admiral and he was promoted to vice admiral.
It wasn't easy. But the four years of hard work, full of blood and sweat finally paid of for him.

Side story 2
When five friends realise that they have fucked up
//Six years after the cancellation of Maki's bounty
The five elders were very happy. After a very badly injured Maki, escaped them, they have activated all their spys in the cypher pole to confirm her death. After 10 days of searching when they didn't find any trace about Maki or anyone of their group, they sighed in relief. All of their CP agents have searched thoroughly. So they became assured that all of them were dead. Two days after that, the king of the drum island reported to the local marines about the arrival of Kureha and the death of the Roxx. They sent their CP agents to confirm it. And after getting the confirmation The finally sighed in relief. It was a shame that, Roxx died in the hands of pirates while protecting his granddaughter. They could have used him before his death. On top of that, they also lost Roma in the incident. Not that she would have been spared after the direct order of Imu sama. But still despite their loss, the five elders, were extremely happy. After all, now they have confirmed that their main headache is gone. They even got praised by Imu sama for their actions.
So they had cancelled the bounty of Roxx and Maki declaring them dead. They also retrieved their spys from the drum island. Although kureha has seen their true forms, she possessed no threat so they decided to leave her.
But little did they know that a den den mushi call is going to change everything.

//Year 1405
The five elders looked at the guards who has arrived in the room of authority.
"My lord, the king of the drum Island has sent this gift for you. He requested at the gift should be opened fresh." The guard knelt down and showed a small box.
V Nusjuro immediately picked up the faint life force with his observation haki similar to that of a den den mushi.
"Leave it here." V Nusjuro gestured towards the table in front of them.
After the guard left, Ethan sliced open the box without harming the snail inside.
All the elders eyed the snail in curiosity. A call was already connected. The face of the snail was full of scars while wearing round glasses.
Every single one of them felt a very bad feeling. Especially Warcury and V Nusjuro.
"Sasiburidana !.....Gorōsei...."
At that moment everyone's blood ran cold.
It was at that moment when they realised that they have fucked up.

AN: 'Sasiburidana Gorōsei' means 'it has been a while five elders'.
And don't worry, the full chapter will come after the small timeskip, at the beginning of Rocks's era. You can expect it to be around chapter 85 or before that.
I just thought that I should also write it from the elder's perspective. So I wrote it.
Now, another info dump. Originally I was planning to do a direct time skip. But then I decided to right briefly about the time skip. So it will now come in five fast forward chapters.
