Chapter 11: The First Original Character
With a shoulder throw, Xiao Yu mobilized thirty percent more soul power than usual, directly sending Zhu Wang into a dizzy spin. Before he could react, Xiao Yu kicked him off the Soul Duel Stage.
After dealing with Zhu Wang, Xiao Yu calmly stepped down from the stage. Those who had been arrogant just moments ago, like Yao Yi and others, now avoided him like he was a plague.
Xiao Yu's expression remained indifferent as he glanced at the others, leaving them with a casual warning, "Don't provoke me," before walking away.
Once elite class students broke through level 20 in soul power, they could enter the elite first class or directly apply for graduation. Therefore, Zhu Wang at level 19 and Chang Hao at level 18 were among the top students in the second class. After learning that both had been defeated by Xiao Yu, no one dared to provoke him again.
Xiao Yu naturally enjoyed the peace. During the days undisturbed by anyone, he meditated during spare time in the day. Initially, he would watch others fight on the Soul Duel Stage, but later he found the children of these junior Soul Masters' academies to be uninteresting, so he stopped going.
Days passed like this, and Xiao Yu gradually got used to the academy life.
Half a year flew by, and one day Xiao Yu entered the classroom as usual, sat in his usual spot by the window, and closed his eyes, waiting for the teacher to arrive.
"Have you heard? We're getting a new student in our class today."
"Oh, did some junior breakthrough to level ten?"
"No."
Someone glanced discreetly at Xiao Yu while speaking, then continued, "It's a new student who just enrolled, directly assigned to our class by the dean, just like Xiao Yu."
"I heard this new student is only six years old, seems like she just awakened her spirit."
"Six years old! Could this new student have full innate spirit power?"
"Not exactly, but her innate spirit power should be quite high. It's a sure thing that she'll break through level ten before the end of this semester. Plus, it seems like she has some connections with influential people, so the dean granted her early entry into our class."
So, she's a well-connected kid!
Xiao Yu, who had been somewhat curious about the new student, lost interest upon hearing this. He stopped paying attention to the chatter around him and began contemplating his own future.
Unbeknownst to him, he had been in this world for over two years now. According to the timeline, Qian Renxue should have successfully replaced Xue Qinghe by now, and the Spirit Hall's plan to usurp the kingdom should be underway.
As for Bibi Dong's Rakshasa God's Trial, he wasn't sure how far along it had progressed. This woman, affected by the Rakshasa God's thoughts and the secret chamber incident, obviously had developed severe antisocial personality disorder and was determined to lead the entire Douluo Continent to destruction.
He wondered if there was a way to hinder her progress and buy crucial time for himself, who was currently lacking in strength and allies.
"Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?"
As Xiao Yu pondered with closed eyes, a timid voice sounded beside him.
Xiao Yu opened his eyes and looked up to see a pretty girl standing in front of him. She wore all black with long silver-blue hair cascading down her back, and deep blue eyes that glanced at Xiao Yu before shyly turning away.
"Isn't there plenty of space up front?"
Xiao Yu turned his head, looking at the numerous empty seats in the front rows, then turned back to the girl.
"I... I prefer sitting by the window."
The girl lowered her head, unable to meet Xiao Yu's gaze, and spoke in a delicate voice.
Xiao Yu instantly understood. This girl seemed to suffer from social anxiety, just like him. She preferred the quiet, inconspicuous spot by the window, away from disturbance.
"If... if it's inconvenient, I... I can find another seat."
Seeing Xiao Yu's silence, the girl spoke timidly, ready to find another place.
"No need."
Xiao Yu stood up and, with a gentlemanly gesture, said, "The seats inside are quieter and less likely to be disturbed. I'll sit on the outside."
Since this girl seemed to be the shy type, Xiao Yu wasn't worried she'd be as noisy as some others. Being a bit more chivalrous wouldn't hurt.
"Th... Thank you."
The girl thanked him quickly and then passed by Xiao Yu to sit inside.
The two of them sat quietly in their respective seats, minding their own business until the teacher arrived.
"Students, today we have a new classmate joining us."
The teacher's gaze fell on the shy girl beside Xiao Yu, and with a smile, she said, "Lingling, introduce yourself to everyone."
The girl, named Lingling, took a deep breath as if encouraging herself, then slowly stood up and softly said, "H... Hello, everyone. My... My name is Ye Lingling, I'm six years old, and my spirit is Nine-Heart Begonia."
Nine-Heart Begonia? Ye Lingling!
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yu couldn't help but turn to look at the girl beside him. It had been over two years since he arrived in this world, and this was the first time he encountered a character from the original story.
Although there wasn't much description of Ye Lingling in the original, Xiao Yu considered her Nine-Heart Begonia spirit to be a miracle in the healing realm. Regardless of the injury, it could heal it. However, this spirit had an innate defect, with only one inheritor per generation, and there could only be two Nine-Heart Begonia soul masters alive at a time. Only when one died could another one appear, making it one of the rarest spirits.
He remembered that Ye Lingling appeared as a member of Team Tian Dou at the Royal Academy, but the current Ye Lingling had obviously just awakened her spirit and hadn't met the Royal Academy's admission requirements yet.
She probably entered the Royal Academy after graduating from the Soul Master Academy, Xiao Yu speculated.
Ye Lingling, naturally shy, gave a brief introduction of herself before sitting back down.
The teacher seemed to understand Ye Lingling's personality. Probably, her family had informed the academy about her. The teacher didn't focus too much attention on her, quickly shifting the topic and starting the day's lesson.
...
"Phew!"
The morning classes ended, and Xiao Yu breathed a sigh of relief. He stretched his sore right hand, which had been aching from note-taking, and stood up, planning to practice in the mimicry environment before lunch, hoping for a breakthrough.
Just then, a small hand tugged at his sleeve, gently pulling it a few times.
"What's wrong?"
Xiao Yu looked down at Ye Lingling, who stood beside him, and asked softly.
Ye Lingling glanced at Xiao Yu and then lowered her head, speaking in a murmured voice, "I... I just arrived, and I haven't studied the previous courses. Can I borrow your notebook to take a look?"
